This hotel was great for our family. Ideal location in Holstein. Staff was very friendly, and we really appreciated the breakfast. The beds are super comfortable and sheets are very soft. My only issue with the hotel is that there is no elevator to get to the second floor, so if you have a lot of luggage, you should request first floor. Great stay and would definitely book again next time we’re in Iowa

The Cobblestone representative on the phone booked me in the wrong hotel (the wrong city) ... it was 1.5 hours from where we would be attending a funeral (the hotel should have been in the same city as the memorial services). After driving the 1.5 hours, the hotel night manager told us that they would refund the other two days (out of three), as we would be going to the Cobblestone close to the family & memorial services. Then we confirmed again in the morning with the manager on duty that the refund would be forthcoming. When we disputed with the credit card company (because there was a full 3 day charge on our card), Cobblestone refused to allow the refund. Do NOT stay at the Holstein Cobblestone! Furthermore, be aware that there are NO elevators in the hotel, so be prepared to carry your luggage up some staircases.FOLLOWUP TO COBBLESTONE INN'S REPLY:While I appreciate your sentiments, I did not call a third party when I booked. I called Cobblestone Inn and whoever answered represented themselves as such. I do NOT use third party companies and you should consider not working with these dis-reputable companies ... it does hurt your reputation.This being said, it was YOUR staff/managers at the hotel that confirmed for me TWICE that I would be refunded. As such, it is the failure of your company to honor your word. It is not my concern that you did or did not get paid from a third party company that you chose to engage with to do business.Because I am the dissatisfied customer and the one that got financially screwed out of this deal, I will stand by my 1-star review.I don't like excuses and I don't like to conduct business with companies that don't stand by their word ... and your two representatives did not honor their word to me.

Overall 3/10 - stay here only if you have to, hope you have hot water left.Suite Room was big, but with a terrible layout. For a room this big, the bathroom services were meager. This made it difficult to get everyone ready in the morning. Clearly damaged prior with minimal maintenance.Beds 1/10Tv size/placement 0/10Cleanliness 8/10Vanity 2/10Shower 2/10Breakfast 3/10Early check-in 10/10Price to experience 2/10Tiny counter/sink, broken shower curtain rod (had to lift it in order to get into the shower), ripped shower curtain, could barely contain the water inside(good pressure though).

Spent my birthday here and the staff were awesome. We ended up being surprised with an upgrade from Sheila which was really sweet. The room was very very clean and tidy. Bed was great. The only disappointment was we were right by the stairs and the luggage clunking down each step all the way woke you early so we didn’t get as much sleep as we would have liked. They had a good vending area and nice laundry room.

We travel A LOT and this has been the best, most impressive hotel standards we have found in this price bracket. I wish every single hotel was this clean, this quality and this easy. If I had anything to change, I would have loved to see a gluten free breakfast option other than Rice Krispies. Other than that, comfortable beds, beautiful view, quiet environment and water pressure that could put out a house fire. Loved it!

Bed was comfortable. Room was clean and had enough lamps and electrical outlets for our needs. Also had a refrigerator and a microwave oven. The bathroom door in room 103 is not set right and won't stay ajar. It swings wide open and hits your butt as you stand at the sink.Nearby activities: Hardee's was good. It was nearby and we don't normally dine at Hardee's but the charbroiled chicken sandwich was messy but delicious. So was the lemonade with lots of ice slivers in it. Yum! So were the cinnamon rolls that we ordered for breakfast.

Very nice overall. A few odd things, like a flaw on the part of the room designers that made it not possible to have the bathroom door and the room door open at the same time. (Also, the bathroom door was hung slightly wrong, so that it could not be left open or partly open.) The breakfast was OK but not stellar. Aside from these details, the stay was pleasant: cleanliness, good; friendliness of staff, good; amenities, acceptable; location, excellent. One point that does need to be addressed, which may reflect a momentary staff choice: as we arrived and checked in, the TV in the dining area adjacent to the registration was blasting Fox News. Why would you do that? Immediately you're alienating more than half of your potential clientele. If you feel that it's necessary to have a TV on 24/7 (and you might be surprised to find that many people do not like this in any case), stick with safer, more benign, more acceptable choices, such as CNN, The Weather Channel, the History Channel, etc.

Had gotten a really great rate for a pilot car and really enjoyed the convenience of being next to our load at the truck stop. My only complaint would be it's a bit expensive, however that said, the rooms are quite luxurious. It's an immaculately clean and very comfortable room. Staff is wonderful and they seem to put out a nice continental breakfast (I've never partaken, personal rule for myself on work days). Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is clean. The room smells clean. Nobody in the hotel was masked but hopefully that will be a non-factor soon. My biggest issue is that there are no USB ports in the room. This is a fairly new hotel. That seems like it should be a given these days. Beware of very tall beds too. I am glad there wasn't video of me climbing in and I am not short. 😂

What a roadside gem this place is! If your traveling a need a place to sleep this is your stop. Clean rooms excellent breakfast and awesome water pressure in the showers. This is a truckers paradise with parking for your rig next door. Definitely recommend to any traveler.

Coming from Wisconsin, it was this beautiful Oasis in the midst of a sea of cornfields. We didn't know what to expect, having called ahead to reserve just a few hours before, and I was very happy with what I found. The rooms were very clean, the sound proofing was great, the beds were very comfortable, the showers modern. Breakfast was yummy, if not heavy on the carbs, and all the staff I met were friendly, even though it was very busy because of the eclipse. It was a very nice, clean place to stay. I have absolutely no complaints. Visitors should note there are no elevators.

The tub had some scum in it but other than that, it was pretty, clean and 10/10 customer service. I asked the desk lady when breakfast would be served and she let me get some early in the morning. So nice! I would definitely recommend this place. It's on the pricey side though.

Room was dirty. We told the front desk & they apologized and said they'd deep clean. When we came back from the funeral we were there for, it had been cleaned, but there was still toothpaste in the shower, which was our main complaint. When we told the desk that upon checking out, they acted like we were lying. This time they did NOT apologize, just said "Hmm....I checked that myself." Breakfast was also one of the worst I've seen. NOT worth what you pay to stay!

Very well put together event center. The space was just the right size for the location, not too big, not too small. The only drawback was the restroom situation. Not enough to accommodate our whole group of around 40 men and women. Overall, it was a very good experience and I would look forward to another meeting there.

Stayed there about a couple of weeks ago and it is over priced for the area as a hotel 15 minutes away is much cheaper and is just as clean.I realized I left a kindle there and called them to go into the room and check and they would call back shortly. After an hour of waiting we called and they still have not gone into the room to check and said they would call back. After another hour of waiting and no response I called back and requested sternly to go into the room and check and they finally did and they stated it was not in the room. I called the next two days to locate this device and each time there was no concern or help from the staff on helping me locate this.I will not be staying there again if a companies policy is to not return items that may have been left in the hotel rooms and the price is steep for the area.

This hotel is nice and clean , big comfy beds everything looks new. The staff very accommodating our group got caught in snow blizzard and needed rooms for the night. Very nice property !!!!
