I am not a huge sweets person but the smell alone when you walk in this place is divine. Then we get to the rows of scrumptious cupcakes. My favorite is the red velvet and let me tell you folks. I'm not a huge chocolate fan or frosting fan but this red velvet cupcake. I licked the wrapper clean when I was done. This is our second visit to That One Cupcake Place. The owner is a delight. She spoke freely with us and it was so refreshing to hear somebody think the way I think. If you haven't been here yet, please make this one of your stops. This was one of my birthday stops.

I was looking for a special cupcake for my daughter’s baby shower. When I went into this store, she was very excited to help me. Our theme was Winnie the Pooh and I wanted something to go with that. I also needed dairy free and gluten free….I was so impressed with the design and flavor, OH MY! Many of my guests LOVED them!Thank you so much! I HIGHLY recommend this place. :))

I appreciate how nice the staff hired always is. You can't eat here, just pick cupcakes up, but it's always extremely clean insideIf you like chocolate cupcakes, That One Cupcake Place has the best chocolate cake I've ever had! It is one of their staple flavors that they have everyday. Red velvet is a close second! I like that it seems half the menu stays the same each day and the other half rotates so I'm never disappointed about getting at least one flavor I love & one new to try.The price is ~$16 for 4 cupcakes - which is not a price I mind paying as each cupcake is large (it takes me 3 days to finish one cupcake) & you can tell this is not something I can make at home with box mix.

First of all, I love the name...it is what drew me in. I imagined the store name being said in valley girl accent. The store was nice and clean. The lady was friendly and polite. She wore gloves and walked me through the prices and flavors. I bought one of each flavor, eighteen in all...for a birthday. I wrote down the flavors and even took pictures, but my favorite flavor was a mystery cupcake not on my list and not in my pictures...it was cinnamon. The cupcakes are amazingly moist, rich in flavor, but not so sweet that you can't finish one. The topping is light and whipped with a variety of crunchy bits and textures. You just have to try these. They are not like most of today's cupcake stores wares.Stopped in again recently and bought one of every flavor again. Still the best flavors and moist cakes. Highly recommend trying every flavor of you can.

Super cute little place. Had a wonderful assortment flavors and decorations for their cupcakes. There were two for $9 so they're not cheap but if you get more of them in the price starts to drop. It was $21 for six. Really lovely presentation and friendly owner.

As others have mentioned, they have great frosting and moist cakes. I’m from the cedar falls/ Waterloo area where scratch cupcake originated and you can tell there’s a difference.I very much appreciate that they have a board where they explain a little bit about their cupcakes and ingredients. Scratch doesnt do that.Edit : 1 year anniversary review Edit. Still holds true this place is the best from the cupcake places I’ve been able to visit between cedar falls/Waterloo through Davenport.Speaking of Davenport I tried tiphanies, I think is the name, not great. Not this place. My only wish is that they would be open a little longer for their business.Update 2 I. Just. Love. How. Much. Frosting. There. Is. On. These. Cupcakes!

They've got you covered. Great daily variety and friendly staff to help. Highly recommend trying this place if you haven't already.

Best cupcakes I’ve ever had. Hands down. In comparison to places I’ve been to in Iowa City, Des Moines, and the Chicago suburbs, this place takes the win! You can tell that the ingredients are top notch. The person helping me was so friendly and was picking out the best of the bunch— the “fat ones” with lots of frosting! Yum!! I will definitely be back and continue to sing high praise!!

Hands down the best cupcake place anywhere around. I go there every time I need a small batch of cupcakes for a party. The most fun is picking out tons of different flavors for groups or parties. This is the best frosting and the most moist cake.

My wife now back then fiancé walked into this place a little over a year ago and fell in love! When it was time to plan our wedding I knew this place would have to be on our dessert menu! The owners were also so wonderful to work with. They delivered the cupcakes to Peoria, IL. The cupcakes are worth every penny and reasonably priced. Our guests just loved them and everyone raved about how awesome they tasted. Thank you John and Emma. You will def. see us again in the future!

This place goes heavy on the gourmet. The cupcakes are as heavy as softballs and the variety is superb. You get what you pay for here and it's great.

Listen, the best place for vegan cupcakes! The owner is vegan and she can literally give you an amazing variety to vegan cupcakes! It’s only special order though, but trust me... totally worth it! If you’re a Harry Potter fan and believes in wizards, That One Cupcake Place is a wizard at both vegan and regular cupcakes!! They’re too good for their value! I would be perfectly fine if they had a price increase because of their AMAZING cupcake toppings!

I'm not sure if I have ever had cupcakes that are this amazingly delicious before visiting here! I'm also not sure there are enough words in the English language to actually describe how perfect and tasty these cupcakes are! The service was great- very friendly and helpful staff! Also, these cupcakes will last...if you can control the urge to eat all of the deliciousness right away, that is. We had a half dozen stored in the container they're sold in that were still moist and fresh tasting almost a week after purchase! Can't wait to get more!!

Best I have ever had. My children love cupcakes and the so called muffins that places sell these days. Been to some "highly rated" places to just get a cupcake that tasted like a mix, topped with a ton of sugar loaded frosting.Every time I have a cupcake from the One Cupcake Place they always taste fresh and homemade. The frosting or topping seems custom fit to each type of cupcake and it is sweet enough but never loaded with so much sugar that it burns my throat like other places.

The cupcakes I got here are the best cupcakes I've ever had. Most cupcake places just slather a bunch of colorful frosting on some mediocre dry cake. Not this place. Both cake and frosting were excellent. Not to mention friendly, attentive service and a cheerful atmosphere. Plus it's family owned and operated, which is something you rarely see now-a-days. Definitely a place you should visit if you are in town.
