I highly recommend Dave Wright Subaru, and especially my salesperson, Michael Trent. I was visiting friends in Cedar Rapids and decided to take the short jaunt over to Marion to visit the local Subaru dealer. And my experience was a breath of fresh air.Michael had a nice conversation with me, culling the details about what I was looking for in a car, and sharing a few laughs. Then he showed me the models I was considering, sharing details about their capabilities and their features. Even though I'd been shopping for cars for a couple of months, he managed to teach me a few things I hadn't gathered for myself. It was definitely time well spent, helping determine which car best fit my wants and needs, and I had a good time in the process.I also got to meet Tanner Wright, the business manager of Dave Wright Subaru. He and Michael were anxious to answer any questions for me, but didn't press me for an immediate purchase. Nevertheless, when I was ready to buy, they made me a better offer than I hoped to get.I can definitely see why this dealership is growing by leaps and bounds. I'll be back to talk to them when my wife is ready to update her vehicle, and I'd recommend Michael Trent at Dave Wright Subaru to anyone in the market for a great vehicle and an enjoyable purchasing experience.

We just had a great experience purchasing a vehicle and you will as well at Dave Wright Subaru. Tyler (General Manager), Tanner and Tim (Business Managers) and Blane (salesperson) were all awesome to visit and work with while my wife and I were at the dealership. I know they advertise to have the Wright Car at the Wright Place at the Wright Price. However, I would like to add that you can also plan on getting treated in the Wright way! It’s an impressive experience! I had the opportunity to travel out of town the next day and really enjoyed how my new ride handled on the highway.

I don't really have any issues when I visit to get an oil change or anything else that may need done to my car, but, the other day I came in and showed someone my passenger rear tire... there was a grinding noise when i came to a stop. Grooves in my rotor. Obviously needing a new brake pad... they took my car to the back like normal and then he told me there is a $160 "diagnosis fee" of what's wrong with the car... I told him exactly what was going on and wrong with the car. I took my keys and left. Bought a brake pad and had it put on for less than $60 bucks. I don't think I'm going to come back... I don't know if I was about to be scammed out of $160 just because or if it was because I'm a woman. Why would I need to pay someone that kind of money just to squat down and see the same thing I do? Just sayin!

I had a service done on my Outback at Dave Wright Subaru and it went great. Jolene at the service desk was an absolute joy to work with. Very clear communications, timeline was exactly as stated and they had a nice space to fire up the laptop and get some work done while waiting.

Credit card transaction fee, at a car dealership? The service experience was great, but charging a credit card transaction fee is not. That is a business expense the business needs to plan for. I even tried to use my debit card but it was still charged as a credit card.

I honestly was going to dismiss the lack of communication the first time around but this time was inexcusable! We came back to Subaru Nissan in Cedar Rapids, IA to have a recall done on our vehicle and the lack of communication was unreal. Our service representative checked me in at 8:15AM and noted we needed our vehicle by 2pm for picking up children from school. He wrote the note 2pm pickup on the sheet and made no mention of a loner in case of the possibility of going over the 4hr time frame for fixing our car. I called around 2:15pm expecting our service representative to tell me shuttle was on his way and that our vehicle was done, but instead was faced with a whole set of other troubles. Our service rep had gone home sick and no one called to mention we would not be dealing with someone else, our vehicle was not ready, and here it was 2:30pm. I told the service rep we were not mad about the car taking extra time to get fixed but instead a HUGE lack of communication. We should have been notified way before 2pm stating there was no way our car would be done, a shuttle should have came to get me to pick up a loner car and things could have been properly handled. Instead of communicating with us, I had to start walking to our children’s school (2.5 miles) and have a shuttle meet me as I was walking down the street, shuttle guy had to stay with me to get my kids from school, and then had to go back to Subaru only to find out our car was yet done and now I could get a loner. I got our loner and was left with 10min to get to a scheduled appointment by 4pm. Had my husband meet me at my appoint around 4:20pm to grab our kids and take back the loner car. I cannot express how frustrating it was to waste yet another day off not getting the proper communication and respect our family deserved. I could have done multiple household chores, picked our children up without needing to start walking there, and just not wasted more than a 4hr window. We are by no means upset that a service took longer than expected but the HUGE HUGE HUGE lack communication. Shame on us for thinking things would be fixed the second time around (especially since we informed the representative last time about this same issue)!

This is our 2nd purchase from Dave Wright with JP with an assist with Joe D. (actually Joe did most of the work 😉) It’s always a seamless process from start to finish as I always go in with realistic expectations. It’s a no hassle and fun experience! You feel like part of the team with an end goal of getting you into a car that you want not what you have to settle for. I will always recommend Dave Wright and will be back in another 4 years when our middle child needs a car or we need an upgrade! Thanks again JP, Joe, Mike and Tanner!!!

I was there for an oil change. I sat in the waiting area watching my car for over an hour. Finally, I stopped an employee and asked when they were going to take my car back. He said he would check on it. He came back and said he was having one of his guys work through their lunch hour and they wouldn’t charge me for it. The service advisor that checked me in never came in once to tell me what was going on. I was there for 2 hours for an oil change!

I am honestly shocked that I am giving a 5 star review to a car dealership!We worked directly with Joe Dereus and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Joe asked questions and listened to what we were looking for and he delivered perfectly! We were able to get a great vehicle and we honestly had a pretty fun time doing so! Everyone there was very friendly, and the whole experience was great! I would highly recommend letting Joe help you find a vehicle!

If you want a great place to buy a car, this is it!We bought our new Subaru Ascent Touring car from Carter 2 months ago. If you want great service after the sell, find Carter at Dave Wright Subaru and buy your car him. Ever follow up appointment that we have had, Carter was there making sure things were getting taken care of plus follow up text and phone calls to see if we had any concerns.Carter’s great costumer service came over the resent holiday weekend. We were traveling on Interstate 70 between Columbus, Ohio and Dayton, Ohio on Sunday the 30th. At 70+ mph, our left rear tire blew out. Because of the safety features of our new Subaru, our car preformed beautifully without loosing any control or hazard to anyone else, we were able to to cascade 4 lanes of traffic and safely park on the shoulder of the Interstate. We pushed the SOS button and we were immediately greeted with an operator that took care of our needs.I then texted Carter on Sunday afternoon not thinking that I would hear from him until Tuesday because of the long holiday weekend. To my surprise, Carter called and wanted to make sure we were alright. I asked him what do we do now regarding warranty repairs to the tire and to have our vehicle checked out. Carter said, “I don’t know how to proceed, but I will be on it first thing Tuesday morning when everyone is back at work”Tuesday morning I received a text shortly after 8:00 am from Carter.“I'm talking with Tate in our service department to see what we need to do, I should have an answer here in a few minutes”And in a few minutes, Carter directed us to the Subaru dealership in Dayton, Ohio with the proper information to get us back on the road home. Thank you Carter and thank you Dave Wright Subaru!

I don't recommend going here for service, especially if you don't know much about cars. They will try to rip you off at every turn. They mark-up prices of easy maintenance and try to sell you useless services for outrageous prices. They'll tell you things are broken or need replacement that are working fine in an effort to trick you out of hundreds of dollars. Very predatory and very untrustworthy

The salesman- Michael was amazing! Such a fantastic person and took such care of all parties. The business manager Zach was beyond awful. Treated us like we had no experience and made sarcastic remarks about the type of vehicle being purchased. Based on my experience with him I would never recommend anyone to this dealership if that’s the type of person they have in management.

I had the BEST experience dealing with Wright Subaru especially with Kaila Tiedeman! I was in the market for a Crosstrek and she found me one that is absolutely a perfect fit for me! She also did a follow up showing me all the bells and whistles this vehicle had! (I previously had driven a 2010 Rogue for 12 years; I needed help!) I’d also like to give a shout out to Carter Leavesseur who also assisted me. It’s tough teaching an old dog new tricks so I needed all the help I could get!I definitely will recommend this dealership and especially Kaila to anyone!

My only issue is that I wasn't able to complete the satisfaction survey for her. The powers that be should know what an asset they have in Samantha. I purchased my car here several months ago and had a great sales experience. Since then, I have continued to have a good experience with the service department. I do have a maintenance plan so I have regular oil changes and tire rotation. The staff is always pleasant and the waiting area is comfortable with including snacks and coffee.

I got a ford focus 2014 car from Dave Wright with lots of issues in that car but during breakdown of my focus they provided me nice and beautiful outback as replace car which I drove a lot. Hence I would recommend to go for Dave Wright.Nice ppl are there to guide you.

I had a GREAT time at Dave Wright Subaru! I had some not-so-cool experiences at other dealerships, but the entire team was wonderful (even though my insurance was dragging everything out). Bassel was excellent -- he showed me only the cars I wanted, didn't try to upsell to something I didn't want, and answered all of my questions. Definitely recommending to anyone I know looking for a different vehicle!

I spent months waiting and watching for the one. I had a list of must haves and knew what I wanted. Brandon Miller had my back and called me every time something close to what I wanted came on the lot. Then one night, it happened. Brandon told me I just had to come in and drive this car. He was right. As soon as I was on the road, I knew it was perfect. Brandon and Matt Hastings made the process of trading in my minivan a breeze and answered all my questions. My husband and I just purchased a 2023 Subaru Forester Wilderness from Dave Wright Subaru. We absolutely love it! We worked with Carter. He is excellent, professional, and honest. He was very knowledgable about the vehicle. He also was great with our two kids, ages 6 and 7. Everyone was so helpful and patient. It was the first time I have ever experienced a dealership having a place for children to play. It made it so much easier as a parent to enjoy the whole car buying experience. There were no gimmicks or tricks. They are honest and caring. We felt confident in everyone we worked with from Carter to Tim to Kieth (and the kind gentlemen in the snappy blazer who showed us where to find the bathrooms). Definitely recommend this dealership and will be back when the time comes to buy our future Subarus.Oh and every-time we tell someone that we bought a Subaru they say "Excellent choice, I hear they are the best".

This review is long overdue, but well warranted. Last summer, we experienced a double-flat in the middle of nowhere IA on our road trip from WI to CO with our completely full vehicle--three adults, baby, toddler, dog, car-top, the whole works. This happened at 10am on a Saturday and apparently all IA shops close at noon and don't reopen until Monday. Being unable to locate a shop with tires that would fit our vehicle within an hour's tow (and cab ride), Steve and his team (Kyle and Anthony) willingly agreed to stay until we arrived (an hour late) to fix our alignment issue and get us four new tires to get us back on the road. They were all very accommodating and happy to help and we couldn't be more grateful.

Update: I think the subie sales team has it together. We purchased an Ascent there, Joe Dereus is a very knowledgeable, low key sales guy and has followed up to answer questions. We negotiated a good deal and have loved the car. The sales manager was a bit indignant as we negotiated lower than he wanted to go. Ultimately, we got to a good price considering the market. The finance guy / Subaru of America screwed up and we had to rectify some things but they handled it quickly. I do appreciate that they support the local community with charitable support. My son likes Mr. Wright's grilled burgers. Service is solid, good advisers, timely turn around, maybe a little spendy but that is always going to be the deal with dealer service.Original: 2 stars... Low pressure, maybe negative pressure. They sure don't seem too eager to sell cars. Updated: Wife witnessed people leaving, walking across the street while getting obscenities yelled at them by an employee. On a separate occassion, went to dealership for an appointment with sales after being called and asked to set this up. Showed up 15 minutes early, no one helped me, I walked around Subaru showroom and found help, said he'd track down help and never returned. After waiting 20 minutes wife and I went out and checked a car on our own. Then I called the salesman again, said come into Nissan showroom. We walked in 30 seconds later to see him walking out a side door. We left without waiting further due to family stuff going on. Service department is good, but sales is kind of a mess. They could not find cars, or salesmen to help me. Hope they get it together, Subaru is a good product. I won't waste my time there buying a car there.

I am highly disappointed at the service me and my daughter received. I helped her get a vehicle here a year ago but since i just purchased my 2nd vehicle through them i was not able to do an extended warranty with my daughters vehicle. There were starting issues from day one and they never would check into it...then the car didnt want to start at times and would even die in her going down the road. Finally she was able to get them to hook it up to diagnose it which cost us $125 and it wasnt the correct problem. I had her take it to another shop and in 4 hours they knew it was the timimg and that the vehicle should have never been sold because it was unsafe to drive. So i called and was not very nice about it as i was frustarted and very upset. They took the car back in and had it for 2 weeks and finally said it was timing and an engine issue and they woukdnt be be able to fix it. I was told that they would fix it at cost. Which they were going to do but charge us $150/hr for labor. No thank you I will have the other shop fix it but for now the car sits and unable to be driven. My dauggter has already been in one accident because of this issue and im pretty sure they never inspected it before they sold us that car. So needless to say they lost a customer due to this unexcusable customer service.
