I choose Fareway over any other store in our small town. One reason is the employees are always so nice and polite willing to help me find things I need. And even order things that I ask them if they’re able to order.When our church’s freezer went out they let us use their freezer to keep the pies from going bad. The pies were made to help our youth and other's go to camp.

Really expensive but not too many options being about an hour from an actual store. My biggest issue here is the guy who runs the meat department... The younger guy with blond hair that ALWAYS has an attitude and God forbid you ask for him or anyone else to separately wrap something (split meat). Half of the time we get meat from back there it's bad! For a place all about customer service there sure are people with attitudes...This is $16 in meat. This has happened MULTIPLE times.

We were there on vacation from South Carolina to visit family, and the people there were GREAT, especially the meat department. The store was also very clean. We will visit next time when we are in the area.

If you are living in or stopping by Harlan, IA this is the place you want to go for all your grocery needs! They have a wider range of products than the hyvee that is in town.

Stopped into the meat department and was greeted by the manager Tony. Tony proceeded to tell me a little about himself and his journey through the Fareway program. After visiting with Tony, I proceeded to look for my cousin Dale who was lost at the time and wasn't supposed to be left unsupervised but with luck I ended up finding him in the laundry detergent isle. All in all it was a good experience, would highly recommend.

My favorite Fareway store. So many healthy choices such as Kale and assorted other greens. We live in Jefferson and visit family in Omaha from time to time, and we always make it a point to come through Harlan and stop here. Great store, esp. for a town of 5,000.

My mom and I went into Fareway to buy pork shoulders, but we live 7 hours away and we were just in town visiting family. We asked if they could save them for us and freeze them and they didn't hesitate to help us out. We picked them up right before we left town and they had everything ready for us when we got there! Amazing customer service and a lot of welcoming faces!

It's an okay store but it's really loud and noisy since they are remodeling. Not to mention the bags are horrible and break easily. Rule of thumb, cheaper doesn't always mean better. as I had a much better experience at HyVee.

I used to work there and one of the managers lied to the boss about me quitting on the spot. The only reason I had put in my two week notice was because she got mad because I called in sick the week before then and then refused to come in because they scheduled me to work the day of prom when I requested it off, so I didn't show up that day. I wouldn't recommend anyone to work here because it is unprofessional how they handle things in there.

Young man at meat department, checkout girl and carryout were very nice. Found a cookie I love, tastes just like homemade, Lofthouse Oatmeal Raisin, so yummy.

The address is correct as of 2013. This is a clean store, the meat department is really excellent with good prices and great tasting meat. The vegetables are much better than those at HyVee, the only other grocery store in Harlan.

Shopped between 8 and 9 A.M. which is supposed to be for seniors and those with health problems. Seemed to me to be WIDE OPEN for anyone and about half were not wearing masks. That doesn't improve the safety for those who truely need it!Also, it you don't want your meat handled with bare hands, shop elsewhere.
