Skip this destination if possible, as I wish i had.My family and I had an overall disappointing experience. Front desk staff left a rude and unprofessional note upon checkout about us not letting them know about pets, however it was discussed over the phone before our arrival when we placed the reservations that same day, likely a result of poor communication between management.On top of poor service, the bathroom had a barely functioning light fixture with exposed wires, the sheets were stained, and there was a dirty sock found in our room as well. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, most peoples appetite will be lost once they see the selection. As mentioned in most other reviews, the pool is closed dating back 2 years in reviews.Thin. Walls.Food & drinks: Hyvee extremely close by.

In a small town there aren't a lot of hotel options. We were only there for a night but felt like overall the experience could have been better. The pool was closed which was one of the few offered amenities. The continental breakfast was probably one of the worst I have experienced. There were frozen eggs and sausage patties you had to head in the microwave and the juice machine only provided water. There wasn't a staff member easily available to see if more juice could be provided. There was an open pitcher of milk in the fridge and a waffle maker but overall poor quality. Within the room it was clean but the A/C made a buzzing noise constantly and we tried to use the rooms iron and ironing board but it put out brown water stains on my shirt. There was also little provided in the way of soaps and shampoo.Nearby activities: Nothing near by. It does require a car.Walkability: Not walkable and is right off of hwy 59.

We had multiple rooms. Worse experience at a hotelToilets, shower curtains, bed sheets, floors, and curtains were not clean for a while.One guess had blood and food in the bed sheets, and they got new ones, but they said they only charge the sheets every 3 days, no matter going on in those bedsRooms were wet, musty, and smelled like mold. We brought our own pillow and never used it and left it on a table in the room next to the wall, and it was soaked the day we left, had to throw it awayThe cleaning lady with the mask will open your door without knocking before 11 o'clock. Check out multiple times to see if you are still in the room and to multiple rooms.One guess got rushed and kicked out 2 hours before checkout at 11.Had multiple rooms for late check out but got kicked out at 11One person got extremely ill from eating their breakfast and spent all day in the bathroom.Overall, it is one of the worst hotels in Iowa

Pros;The lady at the front desk was nice.this place is the nicer of all the places here.Breakfast was good.Consit is a bit dated.Our room was right next to the highway so it was kinda noisy at times.The beds were uncomfortable.The pool has been under maintenance for a while now.Toilet did not flush well.Could only use 1 outlet on the desk lamp cause our chargers would not stay in the wall sockets.Overall it's an OK place, and i say ok cause the front desk lady was so nice, probably won't be back.

Had to stay an extended stay, the king room was spacious and comfortable. Housekeeping was great and all staff was friendly and helpful.Safety: They have many cameras around property and always felt safe.

We stayed for 3 nights and was disappointed in the water pressure, was trickling out so slowly that when put to shower it took almost 45 seconds to reach the shower head. We had bed bugs and unfortunately didn't notice until we woke up on the 3rd morning. This facility while being in a cute community is falling apart. The maintenance is very part time and actually works another full time job. Be aware!

Black mold. When we arrived, we immediately noticed a strong musty odor in our room. I asked for a different room and was offered a similar room. I asked if I could see if that one smelled, too. The lady working the front desk was kind enough to let me in to look at the other room. The 2nd room smelled like a dirty ash tray. I had to weigh musty, mildew smell or cigarettes. Yuck. The lady couldn't smell the cigarette smell in the 2nd room because she is a smoker, she told me. I opted for the musty room. Other than the overwhelming smell when entering the room, which we got used to after being in there awhile, the room *seemed* clean enough UNTIL we started looking closer. There was black mold in the window tracks. A few dead bugs around, too. We would've left had we had anywhere else to go (we were in town for a funeral). The lady noted the mold for the maintenance man when I reported it to her but didn't offer any discounts or refunds. She had said they have a lot of problems with moisture and by the cracks in the tiled floors we saw in different areas, my guess is they have some structural issues going on that need to be addressed. Would be a nice place if it didn't stink and they get that moisture/mold/musk under control. The breakfast was decent and the location convenient, but I would not recommend this hotel.

I wish I had read the other reviews first...1st you sign a waiver that theres no refunds due to..lack of breakfast pool not working, bed bugs or roaches, amenities in room not there or functional...which I thought odd! Needless to say there is no elevator and halls are not temperature controlled. Our room was clean, bed comfortable, water pressure good but no fridge at all. I wish we had spent the extra $15 dollars at the hotel by the interstate instead of driving up here. Employees were nice!

So when questioned of why our rate was $70 more a night then a family member rate. We used the same number to book our stay. There was no answer to that and could not adjust our rate. There was no elevator to the 2nd floor. The rooms had musty smell like there is water damage somewhere. Also the pool was not in working order(this is not something we were going to use anyway)

Made reservations months in advance. When we arrived at 3:15 , our room wasn't ready. Told it would be an hour. Came back 1 1/2 hrs later , still not ready. Told it would be another hour. Front desk lady was very rude and has NO customer service skills. She obviously could of cared less , never apologized and made excuse that 2 house keepers had quit. No Pool even though it says so on web site. We really wanted a pool , that us why we choose this hotel. I found out it has been closed for well over a year. Had to change our evening plans because we had no room. Don't waste your time here. Wish I had read the reviews prior.

Not much to say about my stay here - there aren't many places to stay in this small town - this location is the lesser of all evils. Don't expect anything special - overall decor, rooms, etc.. are dated and need a serious deep clean/refresh. Breakfast is standard fare minus any frills. There is no elevator so if you get the 2nd floor be sure you are ready to carry everything up the stairs.I only stay here because there aren't better options and I'm here for work. I always remind myself "it's just one night".

Normally Baymont Hotels are pretty good to stay at. We were sorely disappointed with this location. No toiletries when we first checked in, when we unwrapped the "new" toilet paper, it was dirty! Breakfast has been good and the day front desk friendly.

Nice clean room. My only complaint is I have to listen to cars on the hiway drive over the rumble strips. The pool is closed due to construction/lack of wanting to maintain it. It doesn't take a year to fix a pool.

This was my first stay at a Baymont. The room was more than adequate. The staff was friendly and helpful. Biggest issue I had was I didn't know what was available. There was nothing in the room listing available services. It's the first room I stayed in which didn't have all kinds of documentation. The complimentary breakfast I was not aware of until I went for some coffee.

Very friendly and great customer service, very clean place to sleep in. Beds are not very comfortable, and desgn is outdated, the layout is just wierd. The shower had no water pressure at all, and only certain rooms have refrigerators. The breakfast was ok, some fruit would have been nice.

Staff was friendly. Room wasn't clean. Floor still had stuff from God knows when, not cleaned up. Starburst wrappers under the bed near the bottom platform. No fridge in the room. I had to carry it from another room. No one came buy the second night I was there to change sheets of towels. There is no elevator to the second floor and even though there were available rooms downstairs, we were put on the 2nd floor. Food was decent for a small place and friendly staff is why it got two stars.

Musty moldy smelling rooms!!! Opened the curtain and bugs and dirt all over the window sill. Huge cockroach crawling up my arm when I was laying in bed. Couldn't sleep the rest of the night. I kept imagining creepy crawlies climbing all over me! Clerk argued with me about it the next day. Said they have never had cockroaches. Breakfast was cold as well and chunks/build up were floating in the juice. Don't think the dispenser nozzles are cleaned. Repeatedly travel from Indiana to Colorado. Have tried a number of hotels. Not worth staying anywhere from Walnut, IA until Lincoln. I could have drove an hour and a half longer and stayed at the Hilton or holiday for what this place charged!

Dirty worn towels. Mattresses were worn to the point of bowing down in the middle. Mold on the shower curtain. Desk staff could not get up from their to service customers. Breakfast was 0630 to 1000 - everything was gone by 0800.Would give less than 1 star if possible.

Friendly staff, great location, great Breakfast options. Minus one star for malfunctioning air unit which made it too hot even during the Iowa winter, I had the thermostat turned off and the window open for about an hour to cool it down to a bearable temperature.

Lady over at the front desk today 2/26 @10:10am. Gave us the worse racial feed back ever. She knew me i been bringing different people every weekend under CLC . With her attitude this hotel won't make guests comfortable staying there. But not sure probably because of our skin color
