We are local, so we shop here often. I avoid this location if I can and go to Pella. Always and I repeat ALWAYS watch your prices as they check you out! I rarely have anything ring up for the advertised price. Just tonight we bought several toys that should be 50% off for a Christmas sale. None of them rang up that price. Then it's a big ordeal for them to correct it. Someone has to verify it and then they have to manually override the price in the system for each item. Tonight the toys were the wrong price, the comfy blankets were the wrong price, posettias, and other things we got. Even after I got home and with the many corrections, I was overcharged by 10.50. That's a lot of money to be overcharged! If I hadn't paid attention, I would have been overcharged by 51.00! This is an ongoing problem. For veterans day, they couldn't even give my husband the veterans discount. The shoes didn't ring up for the advertised price and they couldn't override again for the veterans discount. I shouldn't have to fight this hard to not get overcharged or to have them actually charge the sales price they are advertising in the store on signs and in their ads. I don't know if this is a system issue and corporate needs to fix it or an employee issue and someone isn't doing their job with pricing. Either way, it needs to be fixed!

Theisen's has a good selection of home and farm products.Their prices can be high (a 16lb bag of Meow Mix is the same price as a 30lb bag at Wal-Mart) and for some reason, it's always very warm inside.They have some unique items that aren't available anywhere else locally, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Always willing to help find what I'm looking for, or find an alternative. I had open heart surgery and the clerk was willing to carry my dog food out to my car and load it for me. Staff is always friendly and 98% of the time thwy always have what I'm looking for, need or just want.

The help is still the same, very unknowing, uninformative group of employees I've had to deal with. No matter the turn over, they draw the special education / half way house people.Not to mention their prices have gotten ridiculously crazy high. It's is worthwhile to drive to menards for shopping.

This store is great for farm supply stuff. We got our chickens here and all their bedding and food and nutrients and feeders etc. My only reason for taking a star off is that there have been SO many times where we've needed a kind of tool or hosing or valve or something and they don't have it. So that makes me wish there were more hardware stores around cause we usually have to drive to Des Moines to get stuff from other stores or order online from somewhere else for all sorts of stuff.

My first time in this store and I will say no one offered to help me find anything and there was plenty employees that were not busy. They were not too friendly. I like there selection of inventory. They have alot to offer. Anywhere from sporting goods to auto and farm equipment. Tires and oil. Clothing as well. A good selection of plumbing electrical and much more. But wasn't happy about the customer service. Not sure if I will come back. .....

Always uncomfortable with this store....The eyes and stare from the staff makes me cringe. Staff are not at all friendly. I always feel staff staring with suspicion even to the extent of not looking away when eyes lock. I will however lift my hat to one staffer called Angie, who went her way to get me a cart when I asked for one. Staff should learn to be approachable with a smile.

Farm store that has it all. Great clothing selections, shoes, work clothes, and hunting gear. They have most of your farm needs covered for inside and out. Groceries and pet supplies too.Great nursery plant options seasonal.

Asked for some fly spray that I know they had. The employee said we don't have it. Now I worked in the Grinnell store and I know that they carried the fly spray that I wanted. I was very angry and upset that I told them they lost my business to someone that day. Employees there are also not helpful at all, all young and unknowledgeable about the store that they don't want to help you. It's all up to you to figure it that out. .

Just bought a new gas grill off the floor on Friday night. My wife picked up the grill on Saturday afternoon. After getting the grill home I noticed one of the grill burner covers was missing and called back to the store and talk to one of the employees Gene. He and another young man checked to see if it was left behind and once they couldn't find it they got me another one so I'd have it. My review is because they went above and beyond and are shipping the part to me so I don't have to drive back and get it. I would highly recommend this location to anyone.Dave K.

Best price in canning supplies in town. Offers plants for sale in spring and has a money back guarantee. They replaced my raspberry plant when it died after taking it home. Able to find over-shoe rubber boots here. Lots of feed choices, but not the kind I use for my animals.

Very diverse store. It has about everything you could need for both farm and home.. from clothing to petcare, even certain groceries are available. Just kinda hard to find an employee if you need to ask a question or need help with something.

Theisen's is always a good store for a lot of different needs. I can have trouble finding specific tools/parts/etc at times. But usually they have everything I need and their prices are very reasonable.
