Staff was very friendly. They didn't have what I wanted (pumpkin seeds) but I found pistachios and dog food instead. It was a positive experience. The cashier commented about how nice it was that i got a treat for myself and my dog. It left me smiling with a warm feeling in my heart.

This place is amazing! I guess they are under new management for a few months and since then I've noticed the place is so much cleaner and organized. I used to hate having to go there but now it's great :)

Worse store on planet. Manager and her daughter keep 6 month daughter in store while working and while checking me out they hold her in her arms when I asked how come that’s not safe to have her there they said well not everyone can afford sitter so if I don’t like it I can leave. Manager screamed while customers are there using F words and said this is my store I can do what I want and to never ask her again about that. So unprofessional. Ex employee of theirs says they are so bad he would rather be homeless than work for them. If I can give half star I would. Oh I waited 15 minutes at register while they were smoking in their cars and was told they need breaks too and she makes rules there not customers. Worse store on planet. Every Sunday closed early due to issues with register but was told by ex employee that’s not true they lie its their family outings they go to so they close. Worse place ever!!!!!

The store was very clean, not like some I’ve been in. Employees are very friendly there. I drive to the Grimes store rather than ones closer to me for those reasons. I love the prices. It’s always a good experience shopping there.

Ok so I enjoy shopping at DG and use your digital coupons everytime I'm in the store however it never fails that one if not more of the coupons ring up regular price. Saturday I had 3 items not ring up with the discount. And I bought the correct items. The stores I go into never have enough help. They say they're overworked and not enough pay. Then when we're trying to figure out the coupons there's a long line and the sales clerk gets frustrated. Rightly so as she'd been there fir 10 hours already and then gets angry with the customer. This has happened on many occasions and in different stores. I'm tired of seeing this. I don't use my digital coupons in one store when this sales clerk is working cause I know it'll be a battle at the check out and I didn't have to go thru that but neither should she. Also when you have sales in one store lets say the Christmas items are all a quarter and your have the xmas boxes but they're telling customers they're not a quarter when all the other stores are. She wouldn't even ring it up for me to check. I knew they would ring up a quarter. Evidently she wanted them. I don't know but it's ridiculous. All 4 stores I go to have different sales. When 1 store has a sale on something I'll go to another store and they tell me it's not on sale!! Also the store in Madrid Iowa sent all their xmas items back except the candy and they were only 50%off. Why wouldn't the want the customers to enjoy the sales of their xmas items. I don't get it. The lady said they had alot of them too. I hope you can rectify these problems. I live around the Desmoines Iowa area!! Thank you.

It’s amazing how a chain store can be so different from other store’s ?The few times that I have been at this store location each time it gets dirty and more dirty every time ! Really I think that they don’t clean this place at all !They surely don’t care if they did they would clean it and on top of that a New Dollar store opened up across the street from them ?Let’s decide shop in a clean store or a really dirty store ? ? ? ?

I like this place to get away from the Walmart crowd. But yesterday was the second time I went in and bought a drink (almond milk) and when I got it home it had expired on the 5th today is the 21st. The first time was with a bottle of Sunny D that had been expired for a month. Just be careful when buying groceries items from this dollar general.

I feel with the cost of products customers should be treated with respect and full attention of employees. We can choose to shop elsewhere and when employees are busy talking and joking with each other while trying to check my purchase, I am thinking of where I will stop next time I need their products.

They do their best best, place is a bit cluttered and you simply aren't going to find everything you need there. Staff is always nice and helpful though.

The Grimes DG is clean. Not cluttered. Every time we go in the cashier is always pleasant and very helpful.

This Dollar General in Grimes is the cleanest and the best place to go with the most awesome people that work there if I had to drive clear from Indianola this would be the Dollar General I go to all the time thank God I live right down the street

Cashier was outside smoking 5 seperate times watching for customers through the window. I was waiting for my wife about 10 minutes, while this was going on.

This store is always pretty dirty and cluttered but they have decent customer service most of the time and always have some kind of sale going on with children's clothing shoes etc.

The registers are down half of the time at the Grimes location. Dollar General Corporation needs to have repairman their yesturday! They seem to have daily computer problems and have to close the store early. Sometimes they can't open the store because the registers won't boot up.

Was looking for some groceries, inventory looks like there isn't much turnover. Fairway is across the street which can explain the small selection.
