I would like to say "thank you" to the floral department for making my 96 year-old grandmother's birthday. Her bouquet was delivered today, on time, to the correct address, and protected in wrapping from the extremely cold temps. I ordered the "florist choice" bouquet and so glad that I did. The assortment of colorful, fresh flowers was so beautiful, it moved her to tears.When you live hundreds of miles away, it is hard to know what you are going to get when a gift is ordered online. But I have always had good luck with the quality and service at Ft. Madison Hy-Vee. Thanks again!

Bought Chocolate chip cookies from the deli bakery and the ones on top were fine , but the ones on the bottom were a very dark brown and were very dry.I called to let them know and the person I spoke to in the bakery said they were fine. Very sneaky to hide bad ones with the good

Was actually doing a doordash everything was moved around or they didn't have groceries at all end products that we were looking for and very overpriced for the quantity and quality of stuff they do have.

This place never fails too deliver. Tonight I made New York strip steak burgers 🍔 on Brioche buns with fries and to top it off with Freddy’s Fry Sauce! What a fantastic simple meal! Great price, highly recommended!

Very old fashioned and the store needs a update inside and outside. Other than that the customer service was excellent and the store layout was good as well and knew right where everything was.

I love the smaller Hy-Vees. They have a much more homey feel than the new ones that take a week to just walk through. Everyone at this location was super friendly and helpful.I got 3 different salads from the deli, and they were all amazing and just how I remember the Hy-Vee deli near me before it changed.If I'm ever working in the area again, I will definitely stop in yo get some fresh salads. Yum yum yum 😋

I had ordered some box lunches for a meeting. Everything was prepared perfectly and had each person’s name on the box. I was most surprised by how helpful and friendly everyone was in the store. Was greeted by multiple folks throughout the store. Made my day better!

I live in AZ and am two hours behind Iowa's time. When I called, the young woman told me the florist had closed at two. I explained my situation, and she was amazing enough to look to see if there were any other florist shops open, and unfortunately, everyone was closed. Instead of just saying, "Sorry we can't help you," she transferred me to the supervisor, Morena. I explained my situation to her, and she went above and beyond her job duties. Morena made a beautiful arrangement of flowers and hurried them to the hospital where my mom was located. The flowers arrived, and my aunt was able to read the card to my mom. My mom passed away two hours later. I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am that my mom was able to hear those important words on that card that allowed her to pass, knowing she was loved by her children.Morena is an extremely caring, passionate asset to this company, as well as the young woman who transferred the call. Please acknowledge them for being kind and understanding beautiful human beings. We need more people just like them on this earth. Thank you so very much.

Store remodeling that is in progress makes it a little difficult to locate items. Plastic grocery bags that won't separate causes seif-checkout to be an extremely slow process.

Seen a mouse running around in the fresh produce.. Employees avoided helping me find things i needed, the bathroom had feces smeared all over both stalls and it smelt like rotting produce back by the courtesy counter. I will never be back. How is that place still open?!?! Nasty...

Stopped for the restrooms and a long overdue coffee. I am on crutches and was disappointed to have to hobble to the back of the store to find the bathroom. However, I did not get far, or even have to wait in silence for too long before two or three employees went out of their way to offer help, greetings and wish me a great day. I love the "helpful smile, in every aisle", especially when traveling far from home! Even the coffee baristas when above and beyond with our 3 coffee order!

I went through the pharmacy drive thru to pick up some medicine. I go every month and they are very friendly and helpful. I was going to give only four stars as I have found Hy-Vee to be a little higher priced overall. After thinking about how nice it is for them to be so customer oriented, I feel they do deserve that extra star. It would be nice for them to come down at least half a point on prices.

The store is a little overpriced being that is the only major grocery store chain on my town. Things should be a little more reasonable. I do hate the fact that every single time I walk through the doors it smells like they have a gas leak, don't know what that's about. The best thing about that store is the customer service clerks everyone is very helpful and extra friendly. The Starbucks they have in the stores pretty cool. Convenience is a must.

Hy-Vee (as a franchise) has been really disappointing since the Pandemic. They've since reduced their hours considerably, and added a majority of self-checks. This is the Midwest, and many people don't have 9 to 5 jobs, they work 2nd or 3rd shift in a factory. What a disservice it's been for these customers to cut back hours to 10pm. They used to be open all night!I also have noticed that, more recently, the fuel saver "rewards" have been dwindling so much, that despite spending $100-$200 on a wide variety of groceries, not even 1 reward point has shown up after 3 to 4 visits making purchases with the aforementioned price range. Not worth the trade for them to track my personal purchases without compensation.

Do NOT use to cater a wedding or any important event. I booked over a year in advanced and questioned prices as I completely understood if they could change but wanted to know that upfront, and I was assured the prices were locked in at the time I booked. I also called multiple times closer to my date to confirm that I was on the books and they had all the info they needed. There was absolutely no communication on their end at all and I honestly feel as if I did not keep calling to make sure they had all the info and to ask when they needed final head count they would have just removed me from the books as if I never booked. 1 week before my wedding they called me to let me know that their prices increased $5 a plate for the 280 guest I had planned. When I told them that I was told prices were locked in from last year and I confirmed that multiple times over the past year they did not seem to care and just told me "sorry prices increased". That same conversation I told them for the 4th time that dinner is to be served at 5:30 pm and I was not sure how long they needed for set up but to get there however early they needed to be ready for 5:30. My Mother-In-Law even called the morning of the wedding to confirm that they knew where they were going and that they knew dinner was to be served at 5:30 and they were still late!!! They did not leave Hy-Vee until around 5:30 with a 45 minute drive to the venue and my family/guest helped unload the van because they were so late and everyone was waiting. My husband overheard one of the servers say that "they hope the corn was done because they didn't think it fully cooked since they were so late" (why would you say that in front of the groom or any guest!?). They also had the nerve to tell my father that my card had insufficient funds and that's why they were not coming originally. They were given my credit card info at the time they told me of the $5 a plate increase and I told them they need to tell me what the total bill was and when they were going to charge my card as it might flag it due to the high amount and being out of state. They told me they would call back with that info which they did not call me back and they charged my card at 4:58pm the day of the wedding. My card flagged it and declined it as it was a $59xx charge and I was not near my phone to approve it. On Sunday after the wedding the manager called my father to get the card info sorted and agreed to take off the delivery fee since they were so late, removed rental fee of one of the serving dishes (which was broken and could not be used), took off fees for one of the two servers they sent (which I was told they were only sending one anyways), and took off $1 per plate. So in all they increased my bill $1,400 the week before the wedding and ended up removed about $400 because of all the issues I had. I would have much rather spent that amount for someone else and not had the headache they caused.

Overpriced. Not a fan of the flavorless beef they sell. Did have a 5$ tenderloin sandwich from the Hy-Vee kitchen for dinner tonight. It was delicious!! And only had a 5 minute wait! Every Tuesday special...a classic Midwestern sandwich!! Great job kitchen staff!!

Stop with the self checkouts, I don't work here YOU do. I'm not gonna drive out here, search for my food, scan it, bag it THEN PAY FOR IT. What are Stephanie & Joel doing??? Don't bring up gas stations, I'm old enough to remember full service gas stations. That was NOT helpful. Bring it ALL back.
