Haven’t been in this location for months because it was trashed out - stuff in the aisles, merchandise in complete disarray. I am shocked at how clean, tidy and beautiful this store is now!!! Popped in today and it is gorgeous!!! Well done!!

Whenever we come here in the morning, between 10-12, they are doing inventory and there are people from vendors all over the place. I am an understandable homie, but the employees are seldom at the register when we are ready to check out. I was taking some pictures of the nice displays outside to show the world how lit this place is and the employee told me it is against their policy to take pictures of their displays outside? Whether or not that is true, smoking outside the doors of your store as an employee is unprofessional. A new idea of customer service relations would strongly benefit this stores employees.

It is convenient to shop here from time to time when it is for something I need right away. I have never had a good experience with employees though. Mainly waiting at the register. It wouldn't be a problem but they act like I am ruining their day by taking up their smoke break.

I was glad to see that this Dollar General is not going out of business. When I visited Columbus Ohio I went into a Dollar General Store and it was so filthy inside I could not believe it. It looks like Iowa could teach Ohio a thing or two about cleanliness. It was very nice to see a clean store and management and workers that were more than willing to answer questions and didn't look scared to wait on you. That was a good idea putting one where you did in Fort Madison excellent location! It is perfect for those of us coming across from Illinois to shop.

Nice location. Unlike other Dollar General stores though, this particular one is always cluttered with stock. The aisles between the shelves are partially blocked by products in the store that either need to be in the storeroom or up on the shelves and not on the floors.

Great store with great prices. Store does need need to mop floors. Friendly employees. Will continue to shop their. Fort M Madison East store is a mess and manager looked like she was dressed as a mechanic. Greasy spots on t-shirt and faded shorts.

Cashiers are rude and can't help you with anything. But first you must navigate through the discarded cigarette butts and lots of times cigarette smoke. Employees smoke outside the entrance.Store is always in some form of chaos. Aisles are blocked with carts employees are using to put items on shelf...but the employee is no where to be found. Also at this store the Dollar General Digital Coupons are a joke. The coupons rarely work. And please watch the prices as they ring up your items... They RIP you off!! Usually charged more than the price on the shelf. Store is dirty and employees rarely have any knowledge about the items they sell.Go to the DG on the west side of town on Ave O!!!

I Love Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, WalMart. Some say they'd never shop there. However, in my opinion and truths, I have found great deals of much needed items that were greater than the "Name" brand items.

The pictures of the inside of the store is by no means accurate of how the store is organized. I've NEVER seen this particular store organized, aisles free of boxes,or merchandise in the ailes to even take your cart down them.

I like their prices. It's a good selection for a limited space. Only complaint for me is their aisles are SO narrow you nearly have to swap spit with someone else just to squeeze by them.

If it weren't for such NARROW aisles I would give it 5 stars. But as it is if 2 carts enter most of the aisles from both ends you have to fight to get your cart past the other cart.

Very clutter the workers leave stuff out all the time taking a cart is a bad idea and everytime we have went there the 'clearance items' somehow end up being full price on 'accident.' But A LOT of people mention this we're sure the workers do it on purpose.

HORRIBLE!! Couldn't get down isles. Lack of product's. A MESS!! I'll NEVER go back to this one!! I'll keep with my wonderful one at Montrose!!! Especially the caring extremely helpful employees!!!!

A shower rode was paid for and left behind, Staff that manned the register was on the phone while checking Us and Our purchases out & there was two if Us, We had purchased about $50 in home improvement merchandise, Our hands were full and Cashier should have not been on the phone, She should have remembered ringing the shower rod up, as it didn't fit in a bag. We had to turn around, after getting home and get Our paid for shower rod!😧😤

This place is almost always a hot mess....crowded with too much so it's hard to walk through without bumping into others. Friendly staff though and I can get most things I can get at most DG's.

Used the pick up and 3/5 items were out of stock! When I looked at the app again it still said items were available. Update availability to avoid charging people twice and them having to wait 3-5 days for the extra charge to fall off!

The aisles are very narrow, making it difficult to move around. There seems to always be merchandise waiting to be shelved, and not enough empliyees to get that completed.

It's the original store that is compact and carries everything under the sun. Seasonal products, household items, health and beauty supplies, the groceries. They have it all at a low price.

Every time I come into this DG, there is a particular employee who is very rude to me and or my family. I will never go back to this DG again after my last experience. Just my personal opinion.

As with all dg's they are very under staffed per corp hours they give them. Store mngr Lori is very pleasant and helpful.
