We ordered ~250 ft² of the Silver Birch Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc and could not have had a better experience with the ordering, shipping, receiving and installing processes. The folks at Green Building Supply were fantastic. I ordered 6 or 7 samples and they were shipped very quickly. Once we knew what we wanted, we placed the order and received a refund for the samples. All this was done online. Green Building Supply provided excellent communication throughout the ordering and shipping process. We were prompted to call the local shipping company Green Building uses and we setup a delivery date. It was delivered right on time and in pristine condition. The product is amazing. It is extremely easy to install, other than a jigsaw and the occasional tap with a rubber mallet, that's pretty much all I needed. The seams are hardly visible in artificial lighting. When the sun is shining on it they are sort of noticeable but considering we had carpeting from the '70s in our kitchen it's an enormous improvement. The best part is knowing that there are little to no VOCs especially with a little one running around and a baby on the way. Thank you to Green Building Supply, keep up the great work!

SCAM! Avoid at all cost! I paid for samples that turns out to be “rental” , they put the rental mark very small at the last of the description. Once you receive the package, they’ll email you asking for additional $75 for keeping it? $85 dollars for just a couple samples? I have reported this company to FTC.Following up their reply, there were less than 10 samples in the box, they made seem like there is a lot, there actually isn’t. samples are to KEEP for future spec, NOT end up in landfill! They hide the rental word at the very last on the description and in between phrases, so ppl don’t notice it. It is truly fraudulent and dishonest to trick ppl to believe their samples are to keep too, but actually NOT.

Well still working on this project since January. I followed to the word all instructions on the can. Now, the treated areas 4 month later look dry and thirsty, mat finish. I decided to sand off those sad surfaces with a 320 grit. Just to cut the ridges off. And have a smooth surface (I'm dealing with hard wood). I applied a 3rd coat of that oil to see. The result so far is encouraging. I am finally getting a "Sheen" a Depth in the finish and a presence. Probably a 4th application might make it perfect. I hope. Will keep you posted.About the star rating.... Well for now I am giving it 3 stars. I think the product is good but the instructions could be better. Or more honest. You can't get away with just 2 coats!I have 35 years in wood working.

Fantastic resource for those trying to build "green" and avoid harmful VOC's!Building our Passive House --- air tight, high levels of insulation, and managing IAQ --- meant seeking out building products that were both durable and environmentally friendly. Something that's still not easy to do close to home in local stores here in the Chicago suburbs.You can read about our project here:www [dot] kimchiandkraut [net]We used their M-1 sealant (black, white, and clear) for areas on our charred cedar siding as well as the interior of our home for wood trim and around bath fixtures.We also used several Safecoat products, including their Acrylacq in black for our kitchen cabinets, as well as their Concrete Paint for a "splatter" technique finish on our basement floor.I also used the Safecoat paint for my steel beam in the basement to great effect. In fact, my one regret is not using the Safecoat series of paints for all of my interior painting needs. Instead, I used Benjamin Moore's pricey Aura line and was mostly disappointed in the lack of quality.If I was building again, I would definitely use their website even more. Can't recommend them enough! Keep up the great work!

The staff were wonderful and patient and answered my millions of questions without angst. The flooring I selected was Amorim Wise Waterproof Cork in Sprucwood. It is gorgeous. However, it is not as durable as the information provided from GBS made it sound. It dents very easy and does not spring back as I was told cork would. It also damaged very easily when my cabinets were being installed. Overall it looks and feels fantastic but I am worried about its longevity in a home with young kids. Only time will tell. 5 stars for the service but 3 stars for the product for an average of 4 stars here.

The cork flooring we bought had laminate issues right out of the package. Used the good one's but they started peeling. The owner had the nerve to say this was improper installation. Terrible.

They have a great selection of non-toxic, quart stains and water sealants, exactly what I was looking for for my squirrel house project. I received a shipping notice the same day and it was delivered 2 days later, much faster than expected. The can was closed well, with additional metal clips, and wrapped well inside a plastic bag. I'd definitely recommend ordering from them if you are in the market for eco friendly products.

The most friendly and helpful people! The prices are great and the flooring is absolutely gorgeous! The girl I spoke with (a few times actually), even delayed the delivery of my order so that it would arrive a day or two before the contractor needed it. I ordered a bunch of samples and they promptly refunded me when I returned them. I will definitely be ordering from them again.

We had a great visit to the showroom and worked with a helpful salesperson to pick out awesome natural wool carpet. Unfortunately we cannot find anyone in the area willing and able to install the carpet we have selected. I contacted Green Building Supply by phone and email numerous times but no one has responded with any suggestions. We are very disappointed as we spent a day driving out to the showroom and were excited about our selection only to discover that we won't be able to use it for a home a few hours away :(

Online order was pretty much what I ordered. Good products, good price, could be faster on delivery.Edit: I should say that the Owner does have overnight shipping, I wasn't in a hurry to get the shipment so it wasn't a huge deal. I think Amazon just has me spoiled on free super fast delivery.

I have only ordered samples yet and they shipped very quickly! I love the selection of sustainable hardwood flooring. The staff has been very friendly and knowledgable. My only suggestion would be to ensure that the measurements on the website are accurate. I ordered a few samples which were thicker in reality than stated on the website. It would also be nice to see the pricing and to place a flooring order on the website including flooring & moldings. It was much easier for me to get online quotes from other competitors without calling customer service.

I am being continually prompted to give a review and I just received the flooring. It has not yet been installed and it is still in the boxes. I think the company needs to give there customers time to receive and install their products before requesting a review from them. My star rating does not reflect the product in any way. When the product is actually installed and being used I will be glad to post an accurate review.

I received my order of Blissfully Clean last night- really fast shipping! I've tried it on a few things- bathtub, hard water marks on pots and pans, and it works really well. Looking forward to trying it on my silver earrings- have been looking for non-toxic silver polish for a long time! I bought 2 others to give for gifts. Thank you!

I wish I could remember the young woman who helped me with my order. I made a mistake on my online order in quantity and would have had a ton of goods shipped to my door had it not been for her quickly finding my order, making the necessary change, all the while with a reassuring smile in her voice. Her customer service was just the best. On top of that, what I was expecting to be a week to two week processing and delivery, turned out my order was shipped out within two days! Product arrived when I was told it would, have not had a chance to use it yet- the sample I had ordered was fine.A previous order of of 4 tubes of caulk was good except for the one that was too dry and hard to squeeze out of the tube.

Joel Hirshberg (the head of GBS) is a real gem! Consummate professional, very detail-oriented, willing to go above and beyond to communicate with you on the phone, earn trust, and compete on price.Very pleasant experiences on their site. Ordered samples and those came quickly, nice to get a sense of what's on offer. After waffling between 2 choices, Joel called me up on a Saturday and talked me through a bunch of considerations for a good 40+ minutes. Eventually decided on one, and when I called in to do the order by phone, Joel helped me out there too!Enthusiastically satisfied customer, I feel I'm in great hands for shipping, install, and long-haul care. Hope I get to use GBS again soon!

I ordered Forbo Desktop Marmoleum for the restoration of a 1950's Tanker desk. Green Building Supply is the only place I could find this product, after an extensive search. I was intrigued about color options and they provided me with several samples at no charge! Who does that?!? The think I liked the most was that I was able to order a very small quantity, just slightly more than what I'll need for my project. I'm very pleased with the customer service and ordering experience. The only reason I ranked my experience a 4, instead of a 5+, is because of the shipping process. While shipping was affordable and quick, my item arrived with several marks on the finish side. I should be able to get these marks out, however it took what felt like a 'perfect' experience down a notch or two. Thank you for providing unique products with great customer service!

These guys were so great to work with; they were responsive, friendly, and answered all my questions. I ordered enough sheet Marmoleum to do my kitchen and dining room and I love the product.I used one main color, but ordered a small amount of another color for accent. When they packed up the accent color, they just sent me the end of the roll, which gave me enough extra to make my kitchen counter tops!

Although I only ordered an adhesive from Green Building, I was ecstatic with the product. Being one of those people who is very sensitive to chemicals and chemical fumes, this adhesive was just what I wanted! It had almost no odor at all and I applied it to tile in the dead of winter with only a small crack in a window. The service is fast and efficient; I will definitely do business with Green again!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. One-stop shopping where you don't have to worry and conduct extensive scientific research on every product you look at? Sign me up! The work is already done for you. We are renovating our newly purchased home and I placed an order for bamboo flooring over the phone with Cynthia, whose patience and dedication to customer service are second to none. Renovations are pretty stressful, especially when you're trying to track down the healthiest products possible for a home with small children. Cynthia and Green Building Supply are making the process THAT much easier. I am a customer for life, without a doubt.
