Very enjoyable place to eat at!! I got the “one plate sized” pancake and the fish & chips! Our server was so kind and attentive. We also tried the 1919 root beer in a frosted mug. Affordable prices and a very family friendly atmosphere!

Great little cafe only a few minutes off I-35 north of Des Moines, well worth a little detour if you're passing through. Truly outstanding pork tenderloin sandwich! Potato scoops are tasty also. Great service in a super clean restaurant. Also, look up their back story, maybe the best I've ever heard!

I judge a place based off how good their burger is. Well it wasn't good, edible, but not worth $13.Patty was tasteless besides the burnt oil of the griddle, the bun was stale. Like over all it presented a good looking cheap burger.I can go to Lacheles and get an amazing burger and fries for the same cost.I don't want to sound like I am crapping in this place, I really want to support small businesses to help our local economy. But I feel the owners and management need to take a hard look at themselves and put some more pride in their craft. I'd give a 2/5 but this was a one time purchase, so ill give them a few months before I try again and see if they improve or not.

Had lunch here with friends. We had a large group and staff, was quick to put tables together for us. They serve breakfast all day, which made one friend, happy. Our waitress was very nice and did a wonderful job.Food was very good came out hot. No one in your group had nothing but good replies when I asked how was their lunch. I had the chicken tender basket with onion rings.Chicken tenders were big and meaty. Onion rings were delicious too. Cafe was clean and staff was friendly and very helpful.

Cafe:⭐️⭐️⭐️Chocolate malt was amazing. Fried mushrooms were decent.Macaroni and cheese was horrible, unless you want something like Kraft, but that's what I expect from a restaurant. I ordered a pork tenderloin, to my disappointment when I got home, it was a chicken tenderloin. Which wasn't too bad, but not what I wanted at the time. However living 15 minutes away, I decided to eat what I got.Market:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This store has the best bakery products by far compared to any other grocery retailer. So far, everything I've tried has been delicious, and some of my absolute favorites of anywhere else. I go back for the following items regularly.I definitely recommend trying these:1. Cinnamon Rolls ($4.99) Microwave w/bit of Peanut butter for 20sec.2. Cafe Valley Blueberry Muffins (4pk. but I ate 1 before the review)3. Salted Caramel Cookies ($4.99)4. Pumpkin Pie (wasn't completely set in a couple spots/bites, but it has the best crust I've had on a pie)Be sure to click the helpful 👍button below. Thanks.

We were there on Thursday night the 22nd of February. It took forever for our order to be taken, and that was because the 2nd person to came in to work. The red head pretty much just stared at us and didn’t even bother to take our drink order. The food was good. We then waited around 10 minutes before I got up to buy some groceries and my husband was waiting for our ticket. He said the red head just looked at him several times and never attempted to bring him our check. It wasn’t until I came over with the groceries that she went to our waitress who was on the phone to get our check. We have NEVER had this bad of service before!!!

Unfortunately we had a really bad experience. We sat for over an hour waiting for food with only two other tables full. There seemed to be some family drama with the ‘crew’ behind the counter. Lots of yelling and arguing happening. When we did get our food, it was burnt/over cooked. Also, there were small children, of one of the waitresses, running through the kitchen and behind the counter. Often times touching food boxes/food for the drive through.

Ok so if you want a burger, sorry not those little patties they have to disguise with fancy names and sauce. This is where you go. When they ask you how you want your burger cooked, that's how you know if you should even call yourself a burger joint.

The cafe breakfast is quick and a great value! But get there before 10:30 or you’ll miss out. For lunch and dinner in Bondurant, my family loves the award winning breaded tenderloin and the jalapeño burger! Grab some cinnamon rolls on your way out too! They support all of our local events and partner with us on Breakfast with Santa each year!

Happy to see they left this little place inside when they sold this to fareway. The service is always great and the food is fast and good. I lean to the maidrite everytime but everything I have had was good. Definitely a sweet find if your ever in the area and need a Cafe meal

First off, the service was very good. Our server was very pleasant and friendly. Once our order was placed, our meal came out pretty quickly. The prices are reasonable too. Pretty basic dinner type food, nothing all that special.Unfortunately I don't think that we will be returning. We live about 30 miles from Bondurant, and when we pulled into the parking lot, we were very disappointed that this cafe was located inside a Fareway grocery store. There's not even a wall dividing the store from cafe or a separate entrance, which would help a bit. We were hoping for a unique dinner atmosphere.

The food was delicious, the cooks did a great job!! We got a grilled chicken sandwich and french dip sandwich. The service on the other hand was not great, one staff member mopped under our table and next to our feet when we were placing our order, the other staff members were not only on their phones but also on speakerphone during the time we were dining in, having less than appropriate conversations we found to be unprofessional. We will eat here again, but we will be sure to get the food to go. We had to try to get their attention for refills and the check 3x before the front of house put down their phones to acknowledge us.

We had a simple order, french fries. The staff member who took our order said they had crinkle cut fries, which is our granddaughter's favorite, we ordered the crinkle cut fries. When we got the fries, they were not what I would consider crinkle cut, but they were what I would consider delicious. No complaints from our granddaughter either. The staff member was friendly. I would recommend stopping by and trying the fries, crinkle or not.

Wow, expensive . Take out order of tenderloin and onion rings $17.10. Was not wrapped in gold. Then on receipt wanted tip. No thank you. Use to be a good place to eat. WONT GO BACK.

Don't get me wrong, I love supporting small businesses and truly appreciate having local options that aren't big chain restaurants. I wish I had more positive things to say about Brick Street, but it definitely didn't impress me.I got a breakfast sandwich (which comes with no sides) and also ordered a side of hash browns. The English muffin was soggy with grease, the egg was overcooked, and the hash browns tasted...strange...(almost dusty?).The waitress referred to me as "sweetie" a few times and wasn't very helpful about answering questions (she didn't know and she didn't offer to find out). Would I go here again in a pinch, maybe.

If I could give them a 0 I would. I do not recommend going here. They have poor customer service. I tried to be respectful about my concerns on their Facebook page since when we were at the restaurant there was only younger kids works. They served my daughter burnt french toast and we got a pie to go that wasn’t even a whole piece. They forgot to heat up the macaroni and cheese I ordered and the was refrigerator cold temperature. I paid for it all and when I try to tell them what happened they don’t want to acknowledge me. I love supporting small businesses but I recommend going somewhere else.

What happened to this place? It used to be our favorite place to go! We were there last night for our last time. There is a very nice waitress but the poor thing seems like she is the only one doing anything... everyone else stood around, looked at us and didn't say anything. The place is pretty filthy and we were the ONLY ones there on a Friday night. The food used to be good but honestly it was sad. The hamburger tasted like a frozen patty, the tenderloin was burnt and dry and everything tasted like dirty grease.... and the salad! - brown and slimy! I hope this place can get a new manager and a good training program.

We had the best experience at Brick Street. I had the BEST tenderloin sandwich I have ever had. The batter was so crispy & crunchy and served on the bun of your choice. I went with the spiral fries that came piled high. I washed it down with a 1919 root beer on tap. Great service & great food. We will go back.

Start with server did a OK job.Good, side salad was crisp and dressing tasty. Rootbeer was good didn't notice no refills so was dry bt end of meal. Ordered a Chilli dog. Wasn't even room temperature, cheese didn't even start to melt. They offered to redo but was ready to eat and move on.Then ordered chocolate cream pie.Mistake. Could see server having trouble slicing, when served there was a sliver of crust on the end and a glob of the chocolate innards on plate. Whip cream topping was a river of white glob.No sure why this was even served was a total disaster. Server explained that the whip cream had freezer burn and couldn't set up ? Not sure this explanation is worth anything. It is what it is. Some days your the dog some days your the fire hydrant. This day I was the fire hydrant.Obviously needs a manager over seeing operations. My wife's breakfast meal was satisfactory.

I'm so glad to have found this gem! Excellent Hometown service and great food. The grocery store it's located in is under construction but the restaurant is still in business. Don't forget they're here! It's still a great place to go.

Cute place! Part nice retro diner, part great little grocery store. Loved that they support area farmers using locally grown produce & products. Enjoyed the infamous Iowa tenderloin sandwich there and it was tender, thick, cooked perfectly and breading was seasoned just right. The fresh fruit was so flavorful and their fried pickles, fried cheese curds and sidewinder potatoes were all simply superb! A must-stop if you're in the area!

Have to say it, avoid Brick Street Cafe while the market undergoes renovations. It must be that because before the renovations started the cafe food was good, now not so much. Hopefully they get their stuff together after the renovations and reclaim their former status.
