I loved it there, but the working experience wasn't too pleasant. I was told I would be contacted on a Sunday, (this was a while ago) after my first day being there, never heard anything back from anyone, and received two twenty dollar bills in the mail and that was the last I heard from Moondog, not going to go into detail and try to throw shade or bring up any names, it's just how it is, but besides the work experience it was decent there, just kind of wished they didn't just ghost me like that and acted like I never existed, kind of unprofessional?

The guy that owns this place was rude and disrespectful to my daughter that worked there for one day. He told her in his 30 years he never seen anyone struggle so much. It's called proper training and patience and needless to say he wouldn't say this to a grown man but a 19 year old girl. Should tell you all you need to know about the guy. I don't believe I named any names but I'll find out today but I was the one who picked her up and she was in tears. So verbally beat down a kid but won't do that to a grown man. So this business is a liar on top of that. So the public is aware of the type of people Moondog is.Then I apologize to you and I hope you accept it but I am correct in that is not how you treat anyone much less a young girl. Thank you

I've both sold and purchased records here and was beyond pleased with each visit! The staff are approachable but don't overwhelm and all come off as easy going, the store has a great selection of new and used music in various formats, and their prices for buys are fair. They also keep up-to-date on releases and (most importantly for me) have an EXCELLENT new metal section. Loads of subgenres, loads of sick new releases and reissues on hand each time I've stopped by. Would highly recommend!!

Best place I've been to for music. I've never had a problem with this place. If they don't have a cd, they will order it for you. Everyone here is nice, and the environment is very welcoming. I drive an hour sometimes just to go here.

Ive been going to this store since I was a kid for music and books. I like that I can find music that isn't carried in a chain store like Best Buy. I love that I'm supporting local business as well. The store is more than just music although the variety is great. They carry a lot of vinyl and box sets and always willing to order what you cant find. The staff is knowledgeable...always have a different genre of music playing overhead. They also stock stickers, patches, posters, incense, and books. You can always find a little something different compared to a chain store. Most important, when you shop at Moondog Music you're supporting locally owned business... Check it out!

I've spent thousands of dollars here over my life. At one time, I came here every Friday and grabbed a CD or two. Every month, I eagerly awaited Punk Planet or Maximum Rock N Roll hitting the magazine shelves.While I don't live in Dubuque anymore, when I come visit, I make sure to stop here. Mike, the owner, can still be spotted. Most of the CDs have been replaced with vinyl at this point, which is great. You can spend a few hours digging through what they have.They also have a large supply of pipes and bongs if that is your thing. Also, tons of posters, shirts, hats and a modest selection of books.

I've always loved this place since I was old enough to enjoy it. I am sad to say I brought some vinyl in to have looked at, possibly sell, and to see if I was able to get some fixed. I realize this was months ago and the box was taped still. I was going to grab one out to give as a gift, I was told it was mass produced so I was under was under the impression that it was still there, it was not. I had received 21 dollars for "the couple that were worth anything to the shop" however, all were gone except the unfixable and REALLY old ones. It said on the box "PASS"i have to say I'm a bit disappointed and feel taken advantage of. Just make sure u have a list so this doesn't happen to you and continuing to enjoy moondog isn't an issue for anyone else....

I can't say enough about this plane!! I wish there were more of these kind of music stores around. They are a thing of the past, but fortunately this is still going! It's got everything you could want or need as far as music goes! Very cool place, with posters, patches, bumper stickers, and t-shirts of everthing music, culture, & life. Have to spend a few hours here, it you'll miss something!

This place is probably the best and cheapest place to get vaping products and the like. The records are a little pricey, but not unreasonable for a brick and mortar store. The only cons are that they close early now, so I’ve only been able to stop in once in the past year. Also, most of the staff is great, except just one employee with small round glasses and a little pony tail (IIRC), they are kind of rude, condescending, and just overall unpleasant to work with- but everyone else is usually great and friendly. Wish they’d stay open later- even if it was one day a week

I purchased a Vape cartridge and when I got home I noticed that the product was leaking so I called on the phone to explain my bad experience with the product and the guy had an attitude over the phone and told me that I can just simply return it and he would just give me my money back. It wasn’t about the money I just wanted the product to function as it should he was very rude and did not try to help me at all or try to find a replacement of the product. Giving people their money back is not always the answer he is the old guy with long gray hair and I believe Glasses.. very rude guy

Great vibe, easy going and amazing selections. The humans selling the music and goods are tolerable and knowledgeable. The prices were fair as well, this kind of place is slowly fading away. You should take the time to appreciate it.

I had a positive experience making my purchase...but when I got home and found that it was defective...I returned within the hour for a replacement, I was treated totally different and it was obvious that the seller was upset. I don't feel good about returning there for my next shopping trip.

Best place in the tri-state area to find the music you love. They will order anything that you can't find. Also have nice selection of vinyl & other novelties that you may be looking for such as t-shirts, posters, oils, books, Frisbee discs & many more.

During record day sale in 2017, I bought a linkin park vinyl record. During the purchase years ago, I asked to purchase a Linkin Park poster and they gave it to me! I recommend coming here. They have everything from posters, CD's, vinyl, and collectable items!

We found our sage bundles with no problem and when we were looking for the crystals the nice man behind the counter was helpful and advised us to its location. Highly recommend this place as being safe and wearing masks etc... Nice big panes of plexi glass all over the place. Covid safe.

I've always enjoyed coming to this store. Excellent products that are really good quality for incredible prices! The owner really knows his stuff. Ask him anything about the stuff in his store, and he knows. Pease be respectful when you visit this store. The staff truly deserve it.

Don't shuffle paying customers away the second your closing if you want to stay in business. I really try to support local businesses but they make it difficult when their prices are already too high. Just like the young idiots that work there. Been going there for 15 plus years but I won't be returning. I'll just go to the konnexion and get way better products and they actually know what they're talking about. And wouldn't tell a customer who's about to buy an expensive item that they need to go home

A very great place to shop for music! Fun place to look around! They sell awesome discs for disc golfing. They also have very cool posters and bumper stickers for your car! I love going to Moondog Music! One of my favorite stores in dubuque, iowa!

I bought something here that didn't work I called them to explain the situation and was told thats not his fault next time I should go somewhere else he was talking over me I couldn't get one word in no apologies for wasting my money he told me to call the manufacturer. I feel thats something he needs to do since he's selling faulty products. He did offer to exchange it but hung up too fast when I tried to explain I live 26 miles away so since you are so strung out for cash keep the money nothing good comes to people like you

Great selection of tunes, especially the Americana section (but not limited to this genre). Staff will talk music with you and are happy to provide recommedations. In the era of streaming music it's a welcome oasis with a personal touch. Also a sizeable used catalog with fair prices.
