Herbst Upholstery is absolutely amazing.We brought my wife's grandmother's rocking chair to Herbst to be reupholstered and it's BEAUTIFUL. The work that Herbst does is nothing short of inspired artwork. You can tell the skill that goes into their work is refined from years of mastery at the craft. I gasped out loud when I saw how beautiful our rocking chair turned out. They also saved some of the original fabric from the chair so that we could have it made into a decorative pillow to keep with the chair. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. We live in Madison but will only bring furniture to Herbst.

Perfection. The seam on the driver’s seat had given out, and the stuffing was dissipating bit by bit. Dave identified the fabric required, placed an order, gave me an accurate estimate of both the cost and when the fabric would arrive, and did the work in less than the estimated time. Looks brand new. Not inexpensive, but still reasonable, and I’m happy to pay for high quality craftsmanship.

This was the second time I have had work done at Herbst. This work concerned seats for my classic car. They work they completed was EXCELLENT. Good people to deal with. Not cheap but WELL within my expectations. I highly recommend Herbst Upholstery.

I rarely take the time to write a review, but with this experience I had to make an exception. Wow -- these people are rude with zero customer service skills. I am in the retail business myself so I firmly understand how customers should be treated. Due to my retail background I am very sympathetic with retailers, its tough sometimes dealing with the public, but their is just no excuse for the way they treated us. I wish them the best of luck, they will never get my business again and I will make sure to tell our friends to steer clear of Herbst Upholstery.

Had them do the interior for our classic car. Seats and door panels. Great communication, reasonable rates, professional and excellent work done in a timely manner. Highly recommend.

Very unfriendly. Just so below the standard of typical midwest costumer service. I was given a dated coffee table with a crystal top from a friend and wanted to turn it into a tufted ottoman. I do a lot of crafting but I was not confident I could manage the upholstery part, especially with the tufted buttons. I stopped by to ask her a quote. She had quite an attitude, as if she normally works only for the British Royal House and could not possibly consider lowering herself to my project. I took a look in the workshop and saw nothing beyond ordinary. She told me she was not interested in the job especially as I wanted to use my own fabric (I large piece I found at Goodwill for 6 dollars). I then went to JoAnn fabrics where a super helpful lady guided me into buying the foam, the button covering kit and the metallic ribbon of nails to finish the sides. I found a tutorial on internet and the ottoman came out great with budget of 80 dollars total. I should thank her! I probably saved a lot of money.
