The staff was very nice, and got us in to get our new kitty taken care of extremely quickly. When we came in for our appointment, everyone was extremely friendly, and we were given 2 different treatment plans with the prices. It was nice to see everything laid out. I know both of our critters are in great hands with Colonial Terrace.

The staff makes you feel so at ease. My dog had an allergic reaction to something. Not only did the Vet and the nurse take care of my dog with love and care, they answered all of our questions without making me feel like it was a stupid question. Provided before and after photos ❤️❤️ still recovering but is so much better.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience. I am from out of town and was in Dubuque for a work trip with my 10 week old puppy. He ended up getting sick while we were in town and needed veterinary care. After being turned away from the closest ER clinics and not being able to get an appointment with a vet in town, I contacted Colonial Terrace. I left a message and was called back immediately the next day. The lady on the phone was SO nice and got Waylon an appointment that same day. Dr. McCleary and her veterinary nurse (I believe her name was Sarah) were so patient and sweet to Waylon. He was given the best treatment and everything was explained to me very well. Waylon is feeling much better and we are so thankful for all of the staff at Colonial Terrace. I don’t have enough good words. Thank you for helping my baby!

The doctors and nurses are always so wonderful to not only my pets but myself,I love that they have two doctors who are so knowledgeable on exotics, give such amazing care, and make sure that you leave feeling reassured.My rabbits and I are so thankful for the team they have!

We've never had a bad experience at CT. 10 years ago was our first opportunity to need a vet. Staff understands pet owners and our quirkiness. Dr's are knowledgeable and educated. Customer service is top notch. Website is easy to use and to make appts easily.We lost a pet due to illness; before his time, which was difficult. All of the staff made it as easy as possible for us to go through the process of making those difficult decisions.

The staff at Colonial Terrace are open to hearing our concerns regarding our reason for having Stella seen. The doctors treat Stella like one of their own family members and explain, in easy to understand terminology, what Stella is dealing with and their recommendations for treatment. They understand that my husband is, at times, overly anxious about any issues she has and are willing to take the time to call me and repeat the information shared at the visit with me so my husband and I can make an informed decision about any treatment needs. I especially appreciate that the doctors will frame treatment options in terms of "if Stella were my pet, I would..." as this is helpful in determining the best course of action. We are grateful for the care Stella receives from Colonial Terrace Animal Hospital.

The staff and Dr.'s at Colonial Terrace really took their time with Tucker (my Bernedoodle puppy) to make sure he felt loved and cared for. They took extra time to go over Tuckers needs with me as well. Everyone is so very kind and knowledgeable and give lots of love to Tucker.

My dog LOVES going to see his friends at Colonial Terrace. The staff are so loving and friendly, and the doctors really know their stuff! I also board my dog at their boarding facility and he is always excited when I drop him off! The lack of normal "vet anxiety" my dog experiences is a testament to how great Colonial Terrace is!

Colonial Terrace has a wonderful and very kind staff. Their team understands that my dog gets very nervous coming into the office. Sometimes he is hesitant to go back to the exam room. The last time we were in, a staff member was kind enough to carry Zeke back to the room, all 75 lbs of him :) once he is back in the exam room they are very patient and sweet to him. He is offered an array of treats to help ease his nerves. He absolutely loves Dr Abbie and all of his fears seem to go away when she walks into the room :)

The staff and the vets at Colonial Terrace are such great and wonderful people. Always great with a smile friendly in any way they can they were there for my little girl from a puppy on to the day we had to put her to sleep with many calls to the vet and trips in with her disease. Couldn’t ask for a better team of veterinary doctors to care for her they did everything they could do for us and for her all the way to the end when she was starting to struggle. Dr. McLain, dr. Bissen, dr. Mccleary sorry if ur names are spelled wrong u three were her main vets we stuck with and u three are remarkable. The techs that are on duty and we’re on duty the day we brought her in we’re fabulous with everything and making sure we were ready every step of the way. Since this we have adopted a new puppy and we will be returning and making dr McLain her vet of our choice as we will use the others as well when need be but I’m a pick a dr kind person not everyone type. Thank you all for you very kind hearts thru or very hard time with our loss of our loving little girl Princess While we look forward to the new journey with the new fur baby. Great job and very highly recommend to take ur pet here they take the time to care and love your pet as much as u do.

Friendly and compassionate staff. I have a very difficult cat who has cottony fur that mats terrible. They are fantastic about the sedated feline cuts and the following up car is the cherry on the cake,a love this place!

There are no better vets. I moved out of state a few years ago and miss the amazing family that they have created here. The way they were so kind to all of my cats was heartfelt and gentle. I adopted one of mine from one of their vet techs many years ago. Lily bug had been dumped on her porch. I took her in and they helped her become part of the family. My oldest had a condition that the doctor didnt know much about so she did research to be able to help her. I had to call today to get records sent out to me and even though it has been 4 1/2 years the receptionist remembers my cats and me. We talked for at least 15 min about the cats and finding a great vet near me. There not enough words to say and share my thanks. You guys are the one only reason I wish I had stayed in Dubuque. My husband brought our pup in last Friday afternoon and said despite them being extremely busy, he expeirenced the best customer service. There was two young ladies with glasses working the front desk that were very friendly and attentive and the nurses and drs did good too. Definitly recommend this vet office…. The staff was very welcoming and made our first time experience a memorable one. We brought our puppy Millie here for the first time and everyone made sure to say hi to her and give her plenty of snuggles. She had a great first experience along with us as first time puppy parents. Our doctor and her assistant were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. They answered all the questions I had before I even asked them, and made this experience such a breeze. I’m sure Millie can’t wait to come back considering all the love, treats and toys she received. She didn’t even notice she received a shot! We are very impressed and know we made the right decision coming here!

Top notch care for our furry family members! Have always gone above and beyond and everyone is so caring compassionate. We have had to have 2 of our cats put to sleep over the years and they gave us to much time and attention to what we wanted for our babies. Making a decision to let one of our furry loved ones go is the hardest thing but they have always been so great and supportive. Our other 2 fur babies had their appts a few days ago and Dr. McCleary and her assistant were wonderful!!!! We love Colonial Terrace and have recommended them to many family and friends. We had a medical emergency with our Stormi and called to see if they couls get us in same day since our normal vet was out of town. We let them know what happened and they were very sympathetic and helpful over the phone and they got us in the same day. When we took her in they were very knowledgeable and helpful. We found out she was in the end stages of liver disease and possibly had cancer. The vet took really good care of us as we were scared pet owners. Dr McClain answered any questions we had, gave us different options on what we could do and how they would help and or affect her. When we asked for some time to discuss our options Dr McClain and her nurses were very patient and gave us all the time we needed to discuss what we wanted to do along with not pressuring us to take a certain route. Unfortunately, we made the difficult decision to put our precious StormStorm down so she wasnt in pain anymore. Dr and her nurse gave all the time we wanted/needed as we went through that tough and difficult experience. They checked on us numerous times and asked us if we needed anything, offered us water, and just made sure we were comfortable. We will definitely be coming back and will be requesting Dr McClain going forward. We want to say thank you to you guys for doing everything for us and Stormi and making sure all of us were taken care of. We will forever cherish the acts of kindness and just showing you guys genuinely cared.

My pets love vet visits! The staff is super friendly and helpful whenever I have questions. It might be a bit pricier than I would prefer, but it’s so worth it knowing my pets are in good hands. I can honestly say that the staff there truly cares about the health and safety of each of my pets! I refuse to go anywhere else!

I would like to give a big shout to Clare Slagel. Our beloved dog Tippy got attacked by 2 other dogs down our street when my fiancee was walking him. She came in after hours and tried her best to save him, but he was in so much pain and had blood going into his lungs. So we didn't want to see him in pain so we chose to have him put down. She was so empathetic. Thank you so much for everything you did!

We had an incredible experience with our doggo. All hands were on deck; Dr. Hardyman, Dr. McLeary, and technician Faith made a world of difference for our pup. She was back to normal within a couple days of our first visit. Not to forget about the countless other friendly technicians on hand! We will always go back.

By far the best vet I've experienced. I took my cat here for 3 and a half years before we had to move out of state. No other vets are as understanding, kind, considerate, thorough and helpful as Colonial Terrace was to us. They were transparent about costs when I asked, gave me options, and weren't trying to just give my cat a bunch of shots/medicine/testing without explanation or rushing me. Other vets have barely even taken a look and I've left with an extremely high bill. My pet is my child and they never made me feel like a nuisance or crazy for my concerns. Most other vets do not take the time to listen nor do they actually put in the effort to really look at my cat when I come in with a problem/concern. I miss the vets and staff here dearly. They set the bar high for us.
