Home Depot is a good business but this location is not living up to the standards of the brand. The employees have been rude to my wife on multiple occasions when she has gone in the store.So she started to use curb side pickup to not have to deal with the employees only to discover this location no longer offers it. No notice on the website or in emails just some poorly made items print outs taped to the sign.I hope a regional manager sees this and gets this store in order by letting heads roll. It’s hard to justify going up to the Home Depot location in Johnston when a competitor is right down the road with a much more competent staff.

In just tired of entitled employees that think theyre doing you a favor. I have such a good experience at this place with the other flooring employees but this guy, Patrick, ruins it everytime. Today he was even rude and dismissive to his mentally-challenged coworker. Im over him. I really need to find another carpet store.

Lisbeth and Latisha are the best. I came in with my friend to get a vacuum and had quite the ordeal trying to order online to get the full discount. They were both so very helpful and friendly throughout the entire process. Above and beyond the call of duty for sure!

Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a Home Depot. We ordered kitchen cabinets and when they arrived they had forgotten to order 2 cabinets and one that did come in was damaged. They were trying to have us pay a restock fee on the damaged one. Management was clueless! We went to the Urbandale Home Depot and the difference between them and West Des Moines was night & day! DO NOT SHOP AT THE WEST DES MOINES HOME DEPOT!

I called ahead of time about a deal I saw on Home Depot’s website to confirm it wasn’t an online exclusive deal. I talked to an employee that checked with their manager and confirmed it was for in store, not online exclusive. I even explained that I wanted an answer before I made the trip.I get there and find what I’m looking for no problem. I even see the woman I talked to on the phone in the isle (she works in this department). I then proceeded to the only cashier. They appeared to be newer but they were so kind.Anyways. The manager says they can’t honor the deal that I saw online. I pulled up the add and showed them the deal. He explained that the store wasn’t able to offer such a large discount even though it’s online. So I politely ask to speak to his manager so this could make sense to me.The other manager explained that he personally would eat the discount (doubtful) and then questioned if I even called the right store. I told him yes, I did. He asked “Are you sure about that?” like this was MY mistake. I showed him my call history and he confirmed that I did and still refused the discount and didn’t even offer me any sort of deal or any way to make up for all of the time I had wasted AFTER a confirmation over the phone.The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because the woman I talked to was kind and went through the trouble of looking for a manager and asking. Also, the original cashier I talked to was very kind and so was the first manager.

I was in Home Depot on 12/06/23 around 3:27pm to make a payment for my mom. I get that every store needs to verify the account owner since I did not have the card with me. My first question was if they could look up our card for payment and the lady at the cash register facing my left was speaking very loudly and angrily that no they cannot. I repeated myself and then she says actually yes. I have my mom on the phone so she can verify her identity and enter in her social to look up the card and confirm the name for payment and apparently it’s not allowed. I get it you are trying to purchase an item on the card to require ID but for a payment? Why would I go pay some strangers card. I would only pay if it’s our card. Drove all the way there and couldn’t even get my payment completed. The lack of respect and tone of voice is unacceptable.

I am so thankful to the manager Adam and the employees at this store - I teach elementary music and they helped me with a bucket drumming project for school. They were so kind and helpful, I had a great experience!

The manager of this store is foolish. I have been a HD customer for years, and today is the last time I'll step foot in a HD due to the manager.I needed a piece of cull lumber. Something that would cost under $5, I couldnt find the cull pile so I asked an employee neither of us could find it. I asked the employee if I could have a piece of wood from one of the shipping pallets, he said sure, I said how much, he said don't worry about it. This piece of wood was trash, cant be sold. The manager made the employee find me, and take the piece of trash back. He told me the manager chewed his butt and that HD doesnt give any lumber away, not even trash the store didnt pay for!!OK. No problem. If its that important, have your wood. You lost a customer for life because you are short sighted and petty!!AND FYI- I WENT BEHIND YOUR STORE AND TOOK A PIECE FROM YOUR DUMPSTER ANYWAY!!! YA PRICK!!!

Staff is very friendly and always willing to help! Ailes are clear and clean. Shelves are stocked well and always have someone around to help incase you need something or help. They are generally good about answering questions. If they don't know they find someone to help you. Always a good visit!

Home Depot has always been my go to. Used to love it. Now it just seems the employees either don't care or don't have a clue what I'm asking or where anything is. I hate to say it but HD has slipped a bit. I've become very fond of Bomgaars lately. Might be my new #1 if HD doesn't step up their game. Employee education and attitude have a lot to do with this.

very disappointed in the delivery team. we paid for installation for our new fridge (we will get refunded he said) because they wouldn't bring it inside because they forgot their measuring tape to see if it would fit (it would) so they couldn't bring it inside....okay... so we are stuck figuring out this ourselves i guess.

Unfortunately, this Home Depot is not managed well at all. This morning, employees loudly complaining I’m the garden center at length (woman) about carts, uneven concrete, etc was a real turnoff. She’s not wrong… the parking lot is a disaster with concrete heaving everywhere. The lots is completely neglected. The cashier couldn’t handle breaking a $100 so I had to pay with a credit card (not a huge deal). This store has gone downhill and has been very run down for years. Pretty sad and this is general knowledge in the community. This also hurts their general brand being the “K-Mart” of box stores..

Went into by fans. Could not find the fans associate said that we must be out of them. Walked away really didn't do much more. Ask to talk to the manager the cashier called the manager. the manager said that he was too busy to talk to me he can take down my name and phone number. Yeah their inventory said that they had 12 fans in stock. I did up going to Walmart to buy the fans at a cheaper price.

We love this Home Depot more than any other in the DSM metro. Specifically because of Kate. Every time we bring all of our dogs here she gives them treats 😭😭😭

As a contractor I rely on HD for much of my project material needs. Most of the staff is friendly and when you can find someone in the department, they do their best to help or know who to call. This West DSM store is better than most and I know they're a work in progress.
