This isn't the Ace I normally go to, but they had a space heater in stock that the other stores were out of, and I was looking for this specific item.The people were helpful, and pointed me to the area containing what I was looking for, and even helped me locate the specific item I wanted.When I went, we'd very recently had a pretty nasty snowstorm, and it was so cold out that travel was not recommended, but the employees were still there and happy to help, which was nice.The store was also clean, where a lot of hardware stores tend to be a little bit dirty.Overall, a good location with helpful employees.

Purchased a mower.Additional part on back order. Called to let me know part was in. Arrived to pick up part. Deb had put a note on the part stating I was overcharged $10 on my initial purchase!! Customer Service plus!! Yes I knew I was overcharged but they brought it to my attention before I mentioned it!! Deb, Ace is lucky to have you!! Many thanks!!

Great Ace Hardware, as per usual! The employees truly care and try to help you with anything you may need, starting the moment you walk in the door. Are the prices the cheapest? Not always, but they tend to carry some premium products so their pricing isn't out of line. Plus, you're paying for convenience. I am always willing to spend more if it means I don't have to waste half an hour driving across town and back to save a dollar at a big box store.

I'm super clueless when it comes to anything hardware related and the three people that were up front working helped me SO much. They were super knowledgeable on every question I threw their way. The customer service was truly above and beyond. I wish I remembered all their names, but I do remember Toni's name. She gave me a lot of awesome tips on how to keep my herbs alive!

I was in town helping a family member get an older house ready for winter. As often happens with older houses, the plans changed. It was wonderful to run up the street and get immediate help tracking down what I needed to get back on track. Friendly and knowledge. Time is valuable, especially on brisk fall days, and being able to get the right plumbing and electrical parts quickly is a wonderful thing.

Nice folks, decent selection. They have a little bit of everything. if you need something quick and don't want to walk around a box store for 40 minutes waiting for somebody to help you, this is a great place to go! They have free popcorn as well. You will pay for the convince and service , as their prices are higher than you would pay in a box store. All in all, it is always a pleasant experience when I shop here.

This is a real old-school hardware store. You can talk to a human being for help and they even know a lot about the stuff they sell. They have a great selection of Weber gear and a nice selection of Yeti stuff too.

I went to return some items and was told that clearance items are not returnable. That would have been nice to know at time of perchance. Store manager could have made an exception. Or could have let me exchanged it for the cute puppy Christmas Cards I wanted. Remember when customer service importanttant for return service.

Love these folks! A little more expensive than the big box stores but the convenience of being a few blocks from my house makes up for that. Many times I've ridden my bicycle down here to buy something small to keep my projects going. Everyone in the store is friendly and it's easy to get help and advice.

Everyone is always friendly and helpful at this place. Last week, a gentleman (I apologize, I forget his name) helped my girlfriend and I with our new grill even though we didn’t purchase it there. He walked us through how to use it and was very enthusiastic about what we planned to cook that weekend. This wasn’t our first trip to this ACE and it will not be our last.

I used to work at this store when it was Tru Value Hardware. This store always had nice people. In the last 5 years personalities have changed and it’s no longer a friendly neighborhood store if you speak to general manager Dave. For the last five years whenever I’ve come in or was going to buy something Dave has had a very rude demeanor. In fact, I was asking him a question today and before I could finish he hung up. I even asked if I did anything to upset him and he blew off my question. Hanging up on or being rude to customers is pretty arrogant in this economy.

Best customer service. Ace was open, without power, providing essentials for Iowans during the Derecho storm. Also, Ace has allowed customers to make their own health decisions and has not forced mask wearing. I appreciate Ace's local and national patriotism.

I bought a house a few years ago and have come to this hardware store many times for all kinds of stuff. Every trip I've been impressed with how knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient the service is at this store. My average trip is like 15 minutes to get exactly what I need. In comparison, every trip to Home Depot seems like it takes two hours and leaves me annoyed and tired for no reason.I strongly recommend this Ace to anyone that needs hardware or related supplies. Also, they have some lumber in the back, so don't be afraid to ask if they carry something.

The gentleman who originally answered the phone was very nice and helpful. I was on hold for like 10 minutes but otherwise there was great customer service. Upon arriving at the store to pick up my item was a whole different story. They retrieved my order quickly and since i was by myself and my order was pretty heavy, the gentleman pushed it out to my car on the dolly. I opened up the back of my crossover and he lifted the box up and threw it in the back and walked off. That wouldve been great but it didnt fit and i couldnt close the door, which left me standing there looking stupid. Eventually I got it positioned to where I could get the door shut, barely. Needless to say I was mad as shipment.

Really great people here. I needed a few new bolts for a utility rolling cart that I use when I perform around Des Moines. They spent the time to find the correct bolt and install it with NO CHARGE. I couldn’t believe it. Thanks again!

Quality neighborhood hardware store. Ace Hardware might not have a huge selection and it may be a dollar more than the big box stores, but that is a fair trade for being able to get nearly everything you will need in a close convenient location with real live humans who are more than willing to help you out.That was a terrible run-on sentence. Sorry.But seriously, it doesn't matter how much inventory the big box store has when you can't find what you need. And on the subject of finding, when was the last time you found a real live helpful person in a big box store?Ace Hardware at this location and others has great people who always seem to be willing to assist a customer.Shop small and in your neighborhood. You will be rewarded in many ways.

One of my favorite stores to go. The staff is great, they help with anything they can, even offered great advice. If there is some thing you are looking for like a specific sized nut&bolt to Christmas lights. They probably have it. Call 'em first. If they don't have it, they can tell you where you might find it.

Three men were just waiting to help me find string early on a Saturday morning, PLUS there was free popcorn! BONUS purchase of two reasonably priced greeting cards right near the register. ACE understands how men DO! This store has survived in the Waveland neighborhood for many years. Let's hope it stays afloat for many more.

I handed an item to the man who met me as I walked in & tolshom I needed another, he told me they didn't have what I needed. He followed me as I went to the section where I knew it would be. He said "no, nope we don't we have it" I reached up and took it off its hook, he wandered off.The kid at the check out was very very helpful, he got it out of its packaging for me.

Very helpful staff! And many choice of seeds for birds& squirrels, including bulk options which are great to avoid excess /plastic packaging and have a recyclable paper "Zero Waste" approach. :)
