First, I would like to say thanks to Sue and her staff for the outstanding service that my dog and I received today. They are very nice and professional people who gets the job done. I was given information regarding my dog that would help me to keep his coat clean and matted free in which I thought was very helpful. I had been previously ill before taking my dog in to get groomed. Needless to say, my dog was well overdue. She allowed me to sit and wait until he was finished, and now he looks like a whole dog literally. In closing, I would like to say thank you again to In Home Grooming for all of your great and quality services today.

Saturday, May 1st around 1pm, I went to pick up my mom's dog for her since she was occupied. I get there, the place is very dirty and my mom's dog was anxious to get out of there. He wasn't let out to pee nor was he provided water. She charged my mother $60 to trim the dog because "he was uncooperative and mad" but my mom told me she has charged her $45 in the past. Also, when I told her I could only pay with my debit card, she got annoyed and said she could only accept cash because her chip reader wasn't working. I told her, well I never carry cash and we might need to wait for my mom to pick up the dog at 2:15pm. She started yelling about how people always take advantage of her and how she's waiting for people to pick up their pets from 5-6pm in the evening. And that she told my mom to pick up the dog early because it was her husband's birthday and they wanted to get out of there early. (her sign outside the door says she closes at 4:30pm on Saturdays.I went two doors down to withdraw money from the ATM because I could've left my mom pick up the dog, but I felt bad for the dog because he was anxious to get out of there. Once I released the dog out of the kennel, he immediately went to a corner and peed. My mom's dog is trained to pee only outside. So this really concerned me that he hadn't been let out, who knows in how long.My mom only lives 2-3 minutes away from this place. Once we arrived at my mom's house, my mom's dog ran inside to his water bowl. The poor dog was drinking and drinking the water- another big concern.I told my mom to never bring him here again because:1) poor customer service- the lady was yelling at me because my mom couldn't pick him up earlier than 2:15pm2) The dog wasn't let out to pee3) The dog wasn't given water4) Was charged $15 more because the dog wasn't cooperating. But, isn't this her job and shouldn't she know how to handle this very issue? It's not the first time he's been groomed there and we hadn't had problems before.5) Card reader was "broke", had to pay cash and was given no receipt. This concerns me because there's no way to prove this service was done and also is something fishy with IRS and tracking their income.6) Place was old, dirty and unprofessional7) Lady was very unprofessional handling me as a 3rd person picking up a pet.8) Dog was very anxious to get out of there- this concerns me because he's not like this. Concerns me about how he was treated while being there.

Sue is great. It doesn't get any better than this. I took my long haired cat in to her for the first time at 7:00 am and I didn't have all the vaccination records that she needed. Other than sending me away, she waited until 7:30 when the vet with the records opened and then repeatedly called them until she got an answer. She even cleaned the carrier I brought her in and put a towel in it for the return trip. The grooming and bath were both great and it went very smoothly since she is so good with animals. She is my pet groomer from now on!!!

NOT RELIABLE. Went with my aunt to take her dog for a grooming appointment and when we first got there, there was a dog wandering outside. They didn’t even know he had got out, and my aunt brought him back in. The owner then started yelling at someone else because the dog got out (as if it wasn’t her fault too). When we brought my aunts dog back home he was acting scared and timid. He’s a very happy and active dog so this was strange. He acted this way for almost a whole week. That was enough to know that they are not trustworthy people! Not to mention the terrible grooming job they did.

I have been using this groomer since relocating to the area. I have a yorkie mix who wiggles a lot. He loves going to the shop and is always excited to see Sue and her family. The prices are very fair. Sue's experience shows and she really loves dogs.

We loved what they did for our dog, Clipper. He had been shedding horribly. Sue did a descending on him as well as bath. VERY PLEASED.

We love Sue at In-Home Pet Care & Grooming. We found her when we moved to Des Moines 11 years ago ...we saw the cutest groomed Yorkie waiting in a car with her owner and I asked where she got groomed. We've been going to Sue ever since!

I have been calling about getting my chihuahua’s nails cut for over a week. Every time I am given the response of doing a walk-in and that it doesn’t need to be scheduled. I get off of work at 4:00 and have to drive home 20 mins, so I wanted to be sure I would be able to be seen. She needs them cut very bad. I advised them of my concerns, and I was told to give them a call once I’m off to confirm they’re there, as “they like to work early”. I understand leaving early if there are no customers, but I have been calling daily and I’m being refused because someone wants to go hone early! To leave early every single day by those grounds is just bad business, super unreliable. I’ve been told multiple times to call back later to see if they’re even there, so this specific time I just hung up, as I was fed up and would rather hold my tongue. I was then texted, on my personal cell phone, by Sue from the business. Not to mention the fact they didn’t even text me back a week prior when I was trying to get an appointment. She was trying to tell me I “didn’t have to be rude” and to “go on my day off” if that doesn’t work for me? I work 2 jobs! I don’t have time for that!? I said nothing rude, I only hung up unexpectedly. You’re a business owner, get over the fact that I hung up.Super unprofessional to her customers and I will be sure to let my friends and family know to never come here.

I've never had to find a groomer before, but my experience with Sue was great. She's nice, listens and great with my puppy. I was blown away when I picked up my puppy, she looked gorgeous!!!

My dog has anxiety and I let her know that up front. I also explained that if she seemed overly anxious to please call me. Instead I get there and find out they have muzzled her, she is in the kennel frantically scratching to get out to the point her nails have broken and she is bleeding. Not happy at all. Also the place itself is very unkempt and dirty.

Called spoke to Sue,on behalf of a elderly friend who is on a fixed income hoping to get his pet dog groomed.Sue initially sounded very helpful during the phone conversation I told her I needed to check something out before confirming but would call right back. Called back in 2minutes after she assured me she would answer she never or returned my call...rude and a fake

I bring my mom's dog here every 6 weeks we started about two years ago and they groom him exactly the way my mom likes it always very friendly and courteous. They do a very good job.
