Tonight, my mom went here to get a few personal things, and ran into a young woman that was living in her car and kindly asked my mother for money to buy a few simple items. My mom decided to be nice, and offered not only to her requested items, but more. She asked the girl to come inside with her to be warm and to pick out her items. The girl told her she kicked out of the store. My mom then went inside and got the girl her items + more (She was in and out in minutes). When she got outside, there were cop cars in the parking lot, and the girl gone. Vanished.I don’t know exactly who kicked this girl out, but it makes me enraged. Poor and homeless people deserve respect and love too Hy-Vee. You could have given her a meal, or let her stay inside to get out of this cold air while you were OPEN, but no, you had to kick her out. You should be ashamed of yourselves whoever made that call.(This photo is a few of the many things my mother got the poor, young girl)

Not really happy with Hy-Vee's aggressive tactics in the take over of the local grocery store market... But I guess that's the way of things these days 🤷🏼‍♂️Anyway... All in all, Hy-Vee has good quality and decent prices. Not sure what happened to 'a smile in every aisle' though? The self checkout seems to be counter to that old motto.

This place is always friendly and welcoming. Their breakfast is always hot, fresh, and delicious. Every time I eat here it’s delicious but their breakfast takes the cake for me! This store has everything I need and is definitely my Hyvee. I definitely love this store.

Came to HyVee because the ER sent my spouses scripts here. Waited an hour before going. When I arrived I was greeted by a very unfriendly and gruff older woman who seemed very bothered by the idea I wanted all of her scripts. After being told it would be a half hour I started to head to my car for the wait. On second thought I decided I would stop by the customer service counter to discuss my interaction. I asked for a manager (she was griping to another employee about not being able to go gome) but she didn't know where a manager was. Even though she was wearing a name tag that said she was a manager. When I asked if she was a manager she said yes reluctantly and asked what I wanted. I told her i wanted to discuss my interaction at the pharmacy and a black man (am i allowed to say that) named LB "like little baby" (his exact words) thought this was the funniest thing since Letterman. JUst laughed his head off

The “security guard” is a creep, harasses young women and follows me and my s/o around the store for no reason. I dropped a bottle in front of him and he shook his head as if he was thinking I was stupid. Do better Hyvee.

This place is always clean and organized and I like shopping here. The only problem I have is that it's expensive compared to other stores and it can be hard to find someone to help you during certain times of the day;like at 4:30 or 5pm.

The clerks/checkers are always polite. The management staff I have dealt with tend to be rude and uncaring. Not saying all are that way, but the people I have encountered seem to have an attitude.

I shop here all the time, it's a great store. Was a little suprised to see the YouTube guy MR. BEAST as the security officer, but other than that. No complaints.

Hy-Vee prices are out of control. They continue to raise prices not by 25 and 50 cents but 1.00 per ite.m lemons 99 a piece. I could list a ton more. Shopped there for years I started price comparing. Wow

The employees who haven’t been replaced by self-checkouts all seem miserable here, and it’s hard to blame them. Doesn’t seem to be specific to this location. Not the Hy-Vee you grew up with.

I mean let's address the elephant in the room. If I need groceries, I want to go to a grocery store, not a Walmart clone. There are too many changes and too expensive of products to justify going here over Fareway. Like why is there a bank inside? I'm here for groceries, not a bank, flowers, Mark Walhburg worshipping etc.I only come here for the pharmacy. They also have a giant aisle of unhealthy candy, and "security" walking around with a gun. I'm not going grocery shopping with my child where someone is walking around with a loaded firearm. Complete overkill- by the way I don't need security when I can carry my .38, which is rare.

Great selection and amazing customer service! Kylie was very helpful offered to schedule a regular shipment of the Plant- Based Ensure that I went there to get so that it's always in stock because it's hard to find.

I have shopped here for over decade. The store needs real love and commitment from the top executives. This is the worst store in the area which is sad there is a good mix of life here and I push that its not the stores fault its corporate. #1 west lakes #2 (corp store never gets #1) douglas #3 mills civic #4 valley west #5 windsor heights #6 grand junction

This location is the cleanest, most orderly and visually pleasing Hy-Vee that I visit. The employees are helpful and pleasant too, a plus, that many of their stores are lacking! The gigantic gumball machine in the candy isle is super fun to see as well!

It's clean, for the most part neatly organized.Just more expensive than I can afford while having to get lactose free products.Can't be helped though.We buy a lot of health market items and they do not keep tabs on expired products.So double check expiration dates.

Consistently young unprofessional cashiers who can’t even stop talking long enough to check you out. HOWEVER, all of the other staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of unique foods. Their bakery is awesome- this is my go-to for ordering cakes. Their liquor department has a great selection as well.

The younger people who work there are not properly trained and do a lot of socializing and goofing off... Is one young man that's extremely.... professional .. I can't remember his name right now but he's so good that I wait in line just to go through his checkout

A little sad today that you always have to wait for somebody to come over and help you at the self checkout. And my girlfriend was at the other one and she needed help four different times. And then we kept saying no and then you took 80 cents off of hers get rounded up which I think is ridiculous. Bad enough we're overcharged for a lot of things that should be a lot less like the rest of the stores. Other than that still not my favorite place to shop. But I was in there with her and I only grabbed five little things.

I had a very good shopping experience this time. I go shopping in a good mood & a smile on my face. I'm just a happy person. Every store must train employees with customer service as #1. If you don't know something, find out. I'd like to see someone watching Self-Checkout all the time. Service isn't good there. When a customer has a problem with an item's price, HyVee has always apologized & not charge the customer for it. Many people leaving comments are having that problem. All in all, I will keep shopping here. It's my store! Thanks for listening!

Hy-Vee on the corner of Grand and Railroad in Des Moines is my main grocery store for most of my shopping. I know the layout and can usually get in and out in under 20 minutes with everything I came for and a few things I didn't.

Went in for just a few things, ended up buying more than I needed, but the employees were very helpful and showed me a lot of sale items.
