They don't have many of the choices that the other stores in town. I prefer to drive to West Des Moines. Good place for common last minute grabs. Security and Employees are typically friendly, but don't let them hear you complain about the store, they get mouthy...

I didn't do any groceryshopping myself but I did check out the floral dept. & I was blown away by the sale prices on the fresh floral arrangements and plants. This will be my only reason to return to this location on MLK. Reason is the parking lot is a nightmare littered with people that are clearly loitering & the trash they bring & leave on the premises. Doesn't make you feel safe at all. Don't recommend this place or any establishment residing on this property to anyone with children.Update- Property looked better seems the loitering was down and it just looked cleaner. Store was clean and employees were quick and friendly.

Unfortunately, this location is one of the most bleak Hy-Vee stores in the chain. The cafe is non-existent now, with an unwelcome sign stating that nobody is welcome to have a seat. They were also removing the "convenience store"-like fountain drinks during my visit.I get that this location is in an undesirable area, and they wanted to relocate to the Beaverdale neighborhood, but EVERYONE needs a grocery store, regardless of income status, and corporate treats this location like a red headed stepchild. Some Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh locations have more to offer!Case in point: I didn't feel a welcome vibe at this location, and it was more of a "get your items and get the hell out of our store" vibe.

First time stopping in the store. Needed rice for a late dinner. The employees look like they was in high spirits so that made me smile. It was a little busy at the time but a busy employee stop and helped checked us out. They worked as a team organizing the store and helping customers. I will like to go shop for more groceries there and take in the Hyvee experience.

Only one employee work at check out area (with no self check out open) with so many shoppers line up. I pray for them to get one more cashier in the future. Good luck.

I had a Wonderful experience (other than at checkout and paying,LOL) at this particular Hy-Vee. The store was Exceptionally Clean and Organized, I mean Exceptionally!! I will be definitely shopping at this Hy-Vee again, and I live on the South side of Des Moines, this Hy-Vee is located at Euclid and Martin Luther King. I had no problem with parking ( I was there around 1 pm on a Tuesday). All the Employees I interacted with was very nice, friendly and helpful. The products were all well organized and nothing was out of place. I cannot say anything Bad about this Hy-Vee Store. Keep up the good work everyone 👏 👍 I will be back. And the Polish King Food Truck is located in there Parking lot, this an added plus (love me some Polish King).

Half the self checkout lanes closed, half the service lanes closed. Hyvee continues to get worse and worse as a company. Employees themselves are always nice here, hyvee as a corporation is as greedy as they come

A good store no doubt. Prices are higher than I think they should be " and I am well versed in local food pricing at other stores." However, Hy Vee being a premium grocer does afford them a little leway... Bit I Do Know that lowering DELI prices Will Reduce waste and this Will allow you more yes More profit... I assure you that watching people " yes I did for over an hour," yes I am OCD, I saw enough pass by's to know the statement I just made about Deli prices being lowered, thus cutting waste Will Allow you sell more thus helping feed more people and you Will see increased profits.

Stores ok, a bit of a problem for the police there instead of paid security guards because police have no manners, food is cheap and the star bucks here taste great, if they improve by showing manners to all and exclude the police from being there even if paid options might be better, if course I don't mind the police if they knock off the target issues so yeah good store and prices.

Not sure what is going on with this location, they have gotten rid of most name brand products and are strictly hy-vee brand items. Prices are higher than alot of other locations. 3 check out lines and you are lucky to have 1 cashier. 4 self check outs and today 1 of them was not working. If you want me to check myself out you should give me a discount on my purchase. I will start taking my business to Fairway for my bigger purchases as they are far more price effective, and actually have cashiers at most registers when needed.

I’m so done with this location. Now you are literally not letting people enter the store at 8:50 pm when you close at 9pm. Now I have to drive across town for the little I needed. I live only a few blocks away.Another thing your security guy is rude to everyone who enters or leaves the store. You just lost my business. I will go elsewhere from now on.

I went to this location to get my purchases and had to use the restroom 7/21/2023 and the restrooms looked horrible like there’s blood stains on the toilet which I had to go from one stall to the dirty looking one to use toilet paper and the paper towels were over flowing the trash can. I have told management at this location in the past plus yesterday and one of the employees said they were not sure if management will do something about it. I am not sure if I am going back to this location cause of the restroom’s being sanitiary .

The store is clean, organized and stocked to the best of their availability but Hy-Vee corporate seems to ignore this store. All employees are very helpful, engaged and even friendly, that's not something you see out in the burbs.

This evening I want to Thank the checkout clerk, Joel Y he was the most patient person I've had, I love to shop the HyVee Perks, but many times the prices aren't set on the register, it's takes time to show the clerk the sale price , but Joel was so kind. The neighborhood is kind of a dive, so this is not exactly a "posh" location, but otherwise, the place gets the job done for a neighborhood grocery store. It's also kind of down in a big trench as far as topology goes, so there are certainly some creepy vibes some nights. Not quite as much as the old Dahl's that was up on Euclid and 14th street, that one had serious Resident Evil vibes to it. :D

"Management" have no idea how to do simple things like issue a discount/refund on items that were overpriced/scanned wrong, as well as take zero accountability for their absolutely rude staff. This store will be closed soon, mark my words. I'm surprised it even reopened after the flood.

I was originally upset for a week about having left my Nescafe Coffee at the store.. I also misplaced my receipt but had a digital receipt of my purchase. Totally my fault for leaving it at the store but I explained my scenario and Patrick Grande was extremely kind and gave over-the-top customer service and exceeded my expectations by purchasing the coffee out of his own pocket ! Wow this guy needs a raise because he was adamant about following company policy and not refunding without a receipt..I've done a lot of reviews and I've been to 30 states of 50 and never have I ever seen someone go above and beyond like this.. ❤ 😍 💖 ❣ 💕 💘 ❤ 😍
