There wasn't anything they didn't have when I went shopping here. Some of the canned goods are a little pricey compared to where I've been before but it was manageable. The bakery items are fresh but I didn't like the taste of some of the cakes and cupcakes. Which is fine, it must be an aquired taste.

4.10.20241107 E Army Post Rd, Des Moines, IA 50315Stopped in at the can/bottle redemption area. Walked in with my cans and was told that the redemption area closed at 2p. I thought HyVee was a full service store with a smile in every aisle. No where online or the HyVee website do I see a time listed for the redemption area closing at a certain time. I wasted $3 or more in gas driving there and missed out spending time with my family. I decided not to even shop inside after all this. Maybe the store closes at 2p also??

Consistently overcharged. Submitting complaints on their "contact us" page hasn't yielded any help so I'm posting here. I thought their new point-of-sale system would alleviate a lot of these incorrect and overcharges, but it happened again last weekend. Lunch meat and cheese advertised on sale, but when printed at the deli, the price was higher than shown. And of course, when you take it to the register, it alters the weight to make it look like you bought more to match the real price. Just scammy all around. It's only $2.60, but on what should have been a $9 purchase, that's a huge error and Hy-Vee never does anything to fix it and hold themselves accountable.

I like this hyvee but what's up with the self check out ether use them or get them out of there I hate standing in line looking at all the shut down self check. the staff is always nice shelf are always stock

Constantly raising prices while making it nearly impossible to get refunds on deposits. You can forget about the friendly smile in every aisle as well.

They have messed up self check outs and you can't even get a discount on reusable bags in the "self checkout" which isn't even self checkout anymore as they have cashiers doing the work there like a regular register.

The front-end workers are always polite and helpful. The store is usually clean and stocked. We have had some problems with the meat counter workers in the past.

I love hy-vee they have very helpful workers and cashiers and also a great pharmacy. Very professional and very knowledgeable people.

Prices are high...2 liter pepsi and coke are around $3.50. Other places are significantly less....

We are an elderly couple. While at your store this evening we had a great experience with your employee, Jaden. We asked her several questions regarding where items were located and she took us to those items. We purchased two of the cases of water that are on sale and she loaded them into our cart for us. She also helped us check out, went with us to our car and help load our groceries. Quite a nice young lady you have working for you!!!

It's all about the money. Give a store a face lift....and soon the consumer gets to pay for it.I don't care for Walmart....but I save at least 25 cents per item .Both stores let you ring up your own purchases.I wonder how soon we'll have to stock the shelves ? ?Customer service is a thing of the past.

I need a bouquet of flowers for a funeral, and needed them in about an hour. When I got to the store the bouquet was ready and was perfect! Thank you floral shop, at the Army Post store.

Usually find a helpful smile whenever I need assistance! Just wish they had longer battery life on their mobile carts! Never fails, I start out green and get orange before I get to the meat counter!

For a place that's slogan is a helpful smile in every aisle and claim to be employee owned and that they care about their employees I call b.s. they took away the only perk and benefit that employees cared about 10% discount only to bring it back a few months later where they were allowed to use it once a week complete slap in the face. And the upper management has little to no respect for employees let alone treat them like family.

Okay store and the restrooms are clean. My only complaint today is every time I go to any of the Hy-Vee stores the iced tea appears to look like it's tinted water. Is there any way we could get some iced tea that isn't diluted with a bunch of water. If it's diluted with a bunch of water you put ice on it it's definitely just water. I'm not paying for water.

Little cramped and always busy. But that's ok. They seem to have things stocked mainly. Always like there butchers and products they make ready to grill. No prep work for you.

I was visiting from Arizona and we don't have HyVee but when I lived in Iowa I used HyVee groceries all the time they have v greatest produce the best stocking everything is always full the delis are wonderful I just love HyVee it was so nice to be in Iowa and be able to use it again

Employees here are top tier! The woman in the sushi department is amazing. Li, I think. She always makes our party trays or will make something up fresh while we shop. The other kitchen and meat counter staff is great too and always helpful.My only issue with this location is that they close all the self checkout if I go passed 8pm even when there’s a line in the one register they have open. I understand a half hour early but 8pm is excessive.

Hy-Vee is a great grocer overall. The South Side Des Moines location has its perks... Starbucks, huge gluten free, organic, etc section. Riff Raff can catch you at the door sometimes..... Keep walking.
