Employee at the register was incredibly rude, and the products were nowhere near stocked. Main issue was employee attitude. He ended up worse than a pushy salesman. No means no, maybe learn that before you begin harassing your customers.

I don't know what is up with this dollar tree store but they seem to almost act under their own rules. They decide to close early, when they want to. I've once witnessed them close as early as a little after noon! Around 2PM. Isn't that a bit inconvenient?The experience shopping here is just an average dollar tree experience, but I do question the managing and I sometimes don't want to know what it'd be like working here. If you're closing earlier than you feel, that to me sounds like it's unstable.

Lacks staff, person there is rude. Aisles are blocked with merchandise. Stuff is all over the floor. If you can't staff the store, close it down

This store is ridiculous. Always closed. Tonight they closed at 5pm despite their posted and online hours being 9PM on a Friday. This has been going on for months. Figure it out already.

Everytime my husband and I go to this location its closed always closed.If you lookin here onlin, it shows it closed at 5 but I didn't know that till i looked it up just now. Well I go tonight and it's all lit up looking like it's open even the lane number was lit.. I Unload the grandson and things walk up there doors are locked. On the door the hours are posted as 9pm on Saturday's 8 on Sunday..... it was 739pm .Saturday.I think Better communication to your customers are needed and I know would probably be appreciated. So gas isn't wasted with the prices today.

Only one cashier available when there are over 4 workers available. While I understand the specialization of roles, I do find it a bit weird that workers would not help pick up the work when there are multiple people waiting for one cashier. As well, some items typical for dollar tree are not in stock here. While the workers try to be helpful, at times, their helpfulness becomes a waiting game.

WHAT KIND OF DOLLAR TREE CLOSES AT 5PM!!!??seriously - someone must've created these hours to suit their schedule, which is unheard of. If this Dollar Tree can't maintain business hours that other Dollar Trees operate under, then this location needs to have its staff overhauled and replaced with folks who can work the traditional Dollar Tree hours!!! Going home at 5pm- wth is this - a bank!!!????

Last three times I've come here they've had a handwritten sign on the door saying they closed at 1:00 p.m. I wouldn't bother making the trip you're probably just going to be wasting your time

I am a regular customer and close to home and work so I'm there a few times a week. Basically this whole month they close early or not open at all. I called today for their hours and was told they are closed and will be until Tuesday or Wednesday. I know how hard to get employees. Many businesses are short now a days. I hope they are back to their normal hours soon.

Hours change as much as the weather here in Iowa, I swear... I edited it and have a picture of the "new" hours. I don't understand why this DT has so much trouble, maybe you need new management or pay the workers better. Better yet, we could all benefit if you closed it, so no one has to worry anymore when you would be open at all, since you technically don't ever seem to be.Update: One year later and they STILL have very unexpected hours. They just need to close this one tbh.

Once again ,Southside needs a reliable store .We don't need anymore grocery stores or hit and miss stores that can't open on schedule.We need an office supply store or cell phone outlet .The disabled need a place for motorized wheel chair minor repairs could be handled sooner then 3 or.4 werld.Dollar tree is back at no staff , 9 am and closed .. there's a note on the door. Part of their problem is no city buses on fleur. ByI was at the store today ,the new store clerk was rude to the disabled & elderly . The store shelves like usual were empty . You can't sell what isn't on the shelves. Some things they sell are not a $1.25 .those products are not marked on the shelves . You find out at the cash register. ByThe store has empty shelves again . I wasted time shopping there yesterday . I should have went to another store in my area .Here we go again , temporarily closed. They are open a day or two and closed again . Dollar tree on fleur needs to go out of business and let a reliable store get in therePeople don't want to work.If you want employees pay them a living wage. There's. O city busses on fleur drive , gas costs for a person to get there . A person works to pay the bills . My adult children had to leave Iowa to get jobs that pay .I talked to one of your would be customers. He informed me your store was the second one he found closed today . You need to clear out of the fleur drive store ,Fleurdrive needs a reliable storeand dollar tree is not that store . Have a going outbusiness sale already . People on fleur need a place to shop .Dollar tree on fleur is still closed. This time for a week or so. Like I said , when is the going out of business sale going to be ,?When is the going out of business sale ? You need to pay your employees a living wage. Gas prices are up and Dart cut the bus service . You cannot run a store when you are closed or have no set time to be open. You are not a reliable store .Dollar tree is partially back open. At the rate they are going I expect them to close their doors permanently. You cannot run a business when you are unreliable. Isaw the fire dept. By Dollar trees back door. They may have pulled a surprise inspection. There has been a safety issue . There are blocked aisles , boxes not unpacked .If Dollar tree keeps going the way they have been I expect the store to close .they are closed more often now. They don't have enough employees. They don't pay them enough.The store shelves are not stocked. The boxes in the aisles make it hard for motorized wheel chairs to get around . The lack of workers is due to the waves paid , it doesn't pay the bills that keep going up .It also doesn't help that Dart city bus has no buses on fleur drive .Another trip , shelves were not stocked still . There was two clerks , one was going on break and told customers to get to cash register 2 . The other clerk taking over said stay at register 1 . I almost went to fareway's .Another day at dollar tree and the shelves are more empty then yesterday. The boxes that did not get emptied are blocking the aisles still. I have 2 other stores to shop at if this keeps up.

I used to shop at dollar tree I knew the old manager well. They let her go on June 29, seeing how she hired someone to come in and clean the bathroom out of her own pocket. I guess keeping the store and facilities clean when someone deficates all over the restroom is against policy... but, with a district manager who claims that the customers don't matter let alone their health and welfare...what can a person expect.

Stopped in about 4pm today. Lady working at the register was extremely rude and dismissive and ON HER PHONE ignoring me. I will NOT be back. Hire better people.

It is 9:40am and the store was supposed to open at 9:00am. The lights are all on and I can see merchandise on the store floor. The doors are locked even though hours say (both on Google and on the door) that they should be open. Tried to call and they did not answer. Poor way to retain any customers if you cant stay true to your hours. We have been waiting with other people in the parking lot trying to make a quick buy but now I'm just waiting to figure out HOW LONG they are going to wait to unlock the doors.

I’ve been shopping at this dollar tree since it changed over from Dollar General. It’s pretty impressive how quickly Dollar Tree can take a shiny new store and make it look filthy and rundown. That’s exactly what has happened with this location.Today, 11/9/20 is likely the last time I will ever come here for the foreseeable future. I bought a pack of hotdog buns (Ballpark brand), only to get home and find mold in between the separate layers of buns in the bag. Item was within the expiration date, but it’s not the first time I’ve purchased a bread item from this location and found mold despite the product being within date. However they are handling their product is clearly not maintaining the freshness, there is no reason that any product that is within its expiry date should spoil prematurely unless the package has been compromised, or proper storage and handling practices are not being followed.Staff at this location are decently nice, but don’t expect them to lift a finger to help anyone except another employee. They’ll let the line get 10 people deep and then maybe call for someone else to come help ring... by the time that second cashier actually gets there, the line could easily double in length. The store is pretty big and has a decent selection of stuff, but the poor service isn’t a motivator to keep coming back. They also don’t seem to want to enforce their mask policy on their staff or their customers. They let anyone come in without a mask, and all 3 staff I saw on my last visit were either not wearing masks at all or not wearing them properly.Bottom line: Selling spoiled products, with staff that refuse to properly wear masks, and having a filthy store are the things that earned this store 2 stars.

Walked in at 6:57PM last night and we were greeted with, "We'll be closing in 3 minutes." That was odd, I thought, as the other Dollar Tree's in the area don't close until 9PM or later. I hurried to get a few greeting cards and left at 7:03. While we were walking out, one of the employees made an announcement on the PA system that the store was closing. I checked the store hours on my way out and it said they were open until 9PM. Google said the same. I felt bad for the three people I saw try to go in the store, only to find that the doors were locked and the store hours showed that they were open. No note or anything explaining why. Extremely poor business practice and customer service, Dollar Tree.

The last TWO times I've arrived at this location around 7:30PM each time, the doors have been locked. I'm unsure if it's from lack of staffing, or an employee closing early or what, but at least a sign on the door stating that until further notice we will be closing early would be nice.

I was told that they close the store because "corporate told them to". Lie to me some more why don't you? Explain the signs on your doors when cashiers don't show up for work. How is THAT the customer's fault???? Extremely poor business practice! Get Gordon Ramsay to come and tell these guys to shut it down and F off.

I have his stre I stopped in there and te cashier charged me twice an when I confronted him an his manager on his the cahier said I was lyinnnd called m na!es!!!!!!! The worse store in the town of des moines! I will never step foot back in the store if u pic me! Oh an I still did not get my money back!!! The mbge and the cashier and the old grumpy lady should not be working bowers around t hen public!!!!!!

I've been to multiple Dollar Tree locations, I'll find what I'm looking for, the problem is that all the stores have had to close early due to staffing shortages. Anyone looking for work hit up Dollar Tree.

Every time I go into the store or call to see if they have a certain item. The Manager Amanda always UMM NO WE DON'T HAVE THAT ITEM. So what Dollar Tree Stores need to do is hire someone specifically to answer those questions & to help the customer when they come into the store. That way the manager can't stop giving attitude because she doesn't to go look.
