Traci was always super friendly and helpful. But when our event came, she was out sick so I dealt with Steve, who was very rude. I called because I ordered white plastic tables for my daughter ‘s wedding and they brought old dilapidated wood top tables that were in terrible shape. He was unwilling to make it right in any way. For this reason I would not recommend. The only reason I gave it even a 3 was because of Traci.

Every time I talk to a customer service representative here they all have a problem. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t treat the people giving you business with respect. On phone, extremely rude. In person it’s even worst. I honestly would not recommend their service. Even returning the equipment which was rented the receptionist just wanted argue because they made the mistake of not opening my contract. Take ownership of your problems. I would say the general laborers have better customer service skills than the front desk.

We rented a very large rope and pole tent from Classic Events and Parties as a venue for our 300+ wedding, and they were a breeze to work with! Very accommodating on when we needed the tent delivered and by a certain time. We had so many compliments of how beautiful it looked. Also, their CAD design of how the layout should be arranged was so incredibly helpful and really made the decorating process easy! Would highly recommend working with them!

We rented a tent this past weekend and it needed to be up by noon. Upon delivery, it was windy but the workers bragged about putting tents up in worse weather. It was supposed to be up by noon. The 3 workers spent half that time on their phones and then at 1pm took a lunch break until 2:30. When I called to tell them they needed to come back and have the tent up by 5:30; they were back after 3pm. Attempted one more time and began to pack up and said it couldn’t be done. I called their boss, who treated me poorly and proceeded to laugh at me and said they would charge us more to come back on Saturday. I said it needed to be done tonight and he was absolutely rude along with the 3 workers. Finally they actually attempted to put it up again at 6pm, the tent was up. But it was filled with holes all over it. They never showed up to pick it up on the requested day. Terrible experience and I do not recommend.

This is the first time I've rented from Des Moines Rental (or anywhere, actually), and I'm so happy with their service. They were super nice and helpful on the phone when I asked about reserving the Hot Dog Hut. When I picked it up, the worker told me how to work it, carried it to my car, and was in a great mood considering they're crazy busy this time of year. I will definitely use them in the future if I need to rent something.

Classic Events and Parties verbally confirmed on the phone that they would be at our property to set up a tent and tables for a party 2 weeks ago. Everything was written down including prices and delivery time. When asked about billing they reported we would be billed after the event. When I called today to confirm they told me they only had a quote and called my wife and I liars about everything we had written down.They adamantly and said that would confirm an appointment like that on the phone and it was too late to send location services out to do a tent for our party. Their mistake is honestly not the reason for this review, the extremely disrespectful customer service was. Steve the general manager was combative and difficult as soon as he got on the phone and the receptionist also was very argumentative and couldn't accept they made a mistake. When I asked for them to look up who my wife spoke to on the phone to straighten it out, they couldn't figure it out and that's when Steve got on the line to "lay down the law". Customer service at it's finest.

Was greeted in the showroom quickly. The rental contract was straightforward. The day of the event they helped load the grill up. The grill worked well and the return process was just as smooth. Will most definitely use them again for future events.

UGH! How disappointing. Reserved plates and dinnerware for our daughter's wedding months ahead of time; When we picked it up corelle dinnerware was substituted for the heavy stoneware plates we had reserved--our guests who got these plates felt like second class citizens. We were charged for spoons we never received. When I returned the items and complained I was promised a credit back on my credit card which did not materialize. Could have purchased the dishes we needed at Bed Bath and Beyond for less than what I spent and had better quality items. Not going to rent again.

I ordered table cloths and chairs from Des Moines Rental and the service has always been good every time i have called! I spoke with Tim and he was so nice and helpful. Definitely had better prices compared to other places. I will be recommending Dmr to anyone planning an event!

Drivers blocked entire drop off drive so I had to back up in a very unsafe way through a parking lot. Had the driver waited 2 seconds and been more patient the issue wouldn’t have happened. I for one will one never use their service.

Quick load up! (They did it) quick unload (they did that also! Lol) on return of items rented. The staff was very courteous and careful. Tables and chairs rented were as promised. Very pleased. Would recommend to anyone needing equipment for an event.

Get the dunk tank. Your event will be the talk of the town for weeks afterwards and everyone will think you are super cool for having a dunk tank :)

I thought I was renting the "Popcorn Popper with Cart" but it ended up being a smaller, tabletop popcorn machine. Not a huge deal, but I wish they would have communicated and made it more clear which machine I was renting. The quote did not state whether it was standing or a tabletop, and I didn't know to enquire as I wasn't aware they had multiple types.
