We have been going to the Bark Shop in Urbandale for almost 4 years since Izzy was a puppy. We can’t say enough about the staff and everyone there. Mary Ann is amazing! She is so wonderful with Izzy and not only does she do a fantastic job but she is so good with her. Izzy isn’t scared to go in and get groomed like she has been in the past. You can tell she has a true love for animals. She loves Mary Ann and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a groomer!

Absolutely love this place! My giant pup comes home looking and smelling so good. I not only appreciate the obvious but also going beyond the grooming. Jess has treated our Bernese Jolene like she was her own dog. She helped Jolene with her anxiety, didn’t leave her side when she was upset, made sure she was comfortable and even did little photo shoots to send to us. I would recommend Bark Shop and Jess to anyone that owns a pet. :)

I had a great first experience at Bark Shop 2. I asked that they leave a lot of my dog’s hair - most places butcher him - and his groomer Delilah did perfect! He looks & smells clean, plus he seemed happy. Thank you!

Went to the Bark Shop 2 since we couldn’t get into our normal groomer for months. It was a great experience, the shop was very nice, it had multiple groomers rooms. They were very friendly and got both of my dogs in right away. Communication was great, before, during, and after the appointment. I have two doodles, which I have found it difficult to get them in new locations. It was refreshing they didn’t make a big deal about that, and took them both with a smile! I would definitely recommend giving them a try, I will be back. Location is tucked behind jethros in Waukee, which could be a little difficult locating it for the first time using google maps.

Have only had good experiences at Bark Shop 2. The location is great and everyone working is always very welcoming and friendly! Everyone is able to answer and questions I may have and give me all the options I have so I can select the style of cut I’m wanting for my dog. Making appointments is always easy and communication during grooming appointments has been great.

I recently got 2 puppies so doing to puppy package was the right choice for us. The ladies at the Bark Shop 2 were super friendly and understanding throughout the whole process. They got great haircuts and are looking so good!! We'll definitely be back.

Love the new Bark Shop 2 in Waukee. Nice clean modern facility. Didn’t have to wait weeks to get an appointment. Friendly, professional groomer. Charlie has been there for a mini- groom and today for a full groom. Very pleased with the results!

Dori is the best for long haired dogs!! Definitely recommend her and this location. Much quieter than the other bark shop and I feel like it’s much cleaner when I walk in.

Phenomenal place to take your furry friend. I took my new puppy in to see Dori and I know he got the best care while there and he looked adorable. I also take my 2.5 bernedoodle to her and I never have to worry. Highly, highly recommend Bark Shop!

My first dogs visit went fine.My second dog's visit did not. At drop off I was told I came too early even after showing evidence of the datetime confirmation in text messaging. Whomever said sorry I have a different time in my system. Essentially no customer service and simply said it's my problem and it'll cost me an extra $10 for the day service. Okay whatever... I have bigger issues in my life. I wish the story ended there. I have a busy day and miss the phone calls to say Maple is ready for pick up. Knowing I can come late, since I'm paying for the service, I don't worry about it. I call back at my first available time and the groomer tells me it'll cost me $10 for late pick up. Wait... I reply I'm already paying the $10 from earlier. She responds and and says, oh I'm waiving that because I was available earlier than I thought. So let me get this straight... you messed up the reservation time, said it's my fault, charge me $10 only to decide and waive it without telling me, to only tell me again it's my fault for picking her up late and receive the added fee again. Wow. The groomer wasn't able to connect the dots and why I was confused and upset. It's $10 I don't care. I simply paid and left. But putting the responsibility on me with no service? Pass. Like any service industry, your experience is based on the assigned groomer. Good luck y'all.

Dori is always very gentle with my dogs. I feel relieved that I found someone I can trust with my fur babies. She goes above and beyond to make sure me and my puppies are happy with their pampering spa time.

This is the new extension of the original Urbandale location. We really love the staff. Our dog literally jumps for joy when he arrives for his “spa day”! I recommend either location for your beloved family pet.
