Sarah and her staff are so good to the dogs and keeping owners updated while they are away from their pets! I received daily report cards during my trip and my dog came home so happy, whereas normally he comes home from boarding places exhausted and anxious. We will be going here for all boarding from now on!

I’m very thankful for what Sarah and her team have done for me and my dog. Through the Best Friends Project, I was able to board my dog while I was getting myself treatment. I highly recommend the Dude Ranch and the Best Friends Project!!!!!

Just picked up my kitten after a week away. I was really nervous how he'd do for a week, but Renee sent me updates about how he was doing. He had a blast. She really made sure he got the care and attention he needed. With her extensive background in animal care, I trust her explicitly. The prices were really low compared to other boarding places. Especially considering the one-on-one attention, free dog park time and communication for us nervous parents who request it. I felt really lucky to get my furbaby in on such short notice since she is always booked solid for vacation season. Thanks so much!

Not a fan of how this new owner does business. She claims to have the same pricing, but was $100 more than what we paid previously. No communication about the dogs and how they were doing. She told me she would be putting them in one kennel, but then posted pics of them in a smaller one. They both seem fine, so there’s that. Just falsely lead me to believe it would be the same. It was amazing when Sarah was the owner. She really loved the animals and kept us owners updated on how the dogs were doing every day. We won’t be back.

Staff was attentive and welcoming. The pens seem relatively spacious. I also appreciate that someone comes by later in the evening to let the dogs out in order to minimize the time they have to hold it til morning. Prices are entirely fair. Probably your best bet for boarding your pet in central Iowa.

They took great care of our dogs while we were gone, playing with them and taking them for walks daily and we got great daily emails about how and what they did for the day. They were very understanding when a flight cancelation meant our dogs had to stay one more day. Sarah is very sweet and great to work with. Will definitely take our fur-babies back the next time we are out of town.

I don’t enjoy posting negative reviews, but I am making an exception. I stopped in last week with my dog & toured and brought vet documentation. Made plans to come In Saturday, June 10 th at 8:45 am and board until noon on Sunday. They don’t open until 10 am Saturday, but I was reassured that staff would be there and would let me in early. Rang bell numerous times, knocked and waited about 15 minutes . Tried to call but voice mailbox was full. So I texted the cell number. No response. I had important plans made in Ames that had to be cancelled. This was extremely unprofessional. I never did receive any sort of response or follow up call. Will not be returning or recommending.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. My dogs love it and I do too. Also, on a couple of occasions when I’ve had family emergencies, she’s been there for me with amazing flexibility. Dayton is so lucky to have a place like this.

If you need to board a pet, this is the place to go. Your pet will be walked, snuggled and get to play with other dogs during their ranch stay. Sarah treats them like one of her own pets.
