Great place to get a wide variety of animals and products. Two reasons for four stars one the place is super small and when it's busy it's packed!!! In need of a space upgrade! And some animals could be housed in a little larger enclosure but being a pet store and having pets come and go quickly it's difficult to have bigger enclosures. Hence why a space upgrade might be useful in time! I have been going to aquatic environments for years. Before for my aquatic needs such as saltwater stuff. Now I'm into reptiles/amphibians. And if they don't have what you're looking for they can order what you need. I recently order 3 tanks and I can only get one at a time but all 3 tanks are there and can be reordered if sold before I get them!!!

The photos included are of my own healthy babies for reference.I spoke with the owner Adam during my second visit. I was extremely disappointed and appalled with the axolotls I found, both their health and their homes. I raise healthy babies with good genetic heritage and am compiling a care book within the axolotl community to assist new owners. I shared this care file with him and he suggested he would be changing the way they run things. I hope on my next visit I can update this review in a more positive light. Please do not support backyard breeders. Babies should never come missing legs, under 3", missing gills, underweight, or be housed on anything but sand or bare bottom.

Very great experience rtalked to a guy named Rick I think about my cold water and how I needed a heater for my axolotl he took his time to help went above and beyond to help me out they have definitely gotten a new customer for life told me how I wasn't using my heater correctly after talking he showed me a better option and gave me a refund for the heater I had purchased as I said this is a wonderful place

I write this review with a heavy heart and a decades long customer. This used to be the only pet store in the quad cities area that I trusted for their knowledge, selection of species, and customer service. All of these things have gone ENTIRELY on the wayside. Literally NONE of the fish I buy from this store stay alive longer than a week at best. The reason, come to find out, is because all tanks use RO water so they hardly can adapt to HEAVILY TREATED area water. I'm all for better water, however, I shouldn't have to buy and use RO water to keep "healthy" stock alive. To add insult to injury, I recently had a $20 fish pass away within their return policy (in this case within 48 hours), so I brought it back along with a water sample. My water sample tested fine at home before I even wasted the store's time. I was told at the store that my levels were too high to keep fish safely and that their guarantee couldn't be honored. My levels tested fine, within liveable range, with their test kit too but when i asked i was told that it was unsafe and a "miracle i had anything alive" . Then I was treated as if I had no clue what I was doing and I've been in the hobby for 25+ years. I can safely say without a doubt I will NEVER purchase anything more from this store after 20+ years of business and THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS worth of livestock. If you want livestock that will actually LIVE and SURVIVE I highly recommend Teskes in moline for saltwater stock and again Teskes or Roe Aquarium in Rock Island for freshwater stock. Everything I've purchased from these two fine establishments is alive and well even months after purchase but that's another review for another day. Shame on this store for overpriced livestock that comes with a death sentence and shame on them for not disclosing even the WATER that they use as some customers don't have the means to get an RO system installed or want to deal with the sheer HASSLE of having to get water from a store that is supposed to be trusted. I wish I could give ZERO stars after how I was treated but the best I can do is not pour any more money into this establishment.

Their aquatic section is great! Their snake section, however, is pitiful! They have them in critter carriers with very little water, they have mites, and live their days with a boa lurking next to them. All kept in a display case, that has heat ALL ALONG THE BOTTOM! PLEASE DO NOT BUY A SNAKE FROM HERE!

Multiple large beardies with tortoises as well as other in appropriate cohabiting. snakes in tiny critter keepers :(I came here awhile ago and it was nothing like this.

I was just visiting but it was a nice fish store. Highly rated in the area but they had a good selection of fish and food. Could use more plants but I think that's personal preference!

Very helpful staff. Almost always have what I need for my lizards. If you need green horned worms get there Tuesdays or soon after. Usually sold out by the weekend.

We came in today to get some things to start out with our first little 10 gallon tank and the guy that helped us was awesome. We ended up leaving with things to start that and a 20 gallon that is now planted and will definitely be going back to get the fish to fill them and more fish keeping supplies 😁😁

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. My family just knew we wanted a fish and the staff had excellent recommendations, were very patient, and instructive on setting up a fish tank for the first time. My family and I will return.

I have been to this store a few times, but I am not from the area so I don't get there very often at all. I am very impressed by this store as they carry a really nice variety of fresh and salt water fish. I saw fish there, that you just don't see at other stores, and the Salt water fish section is just phenomenal, ....and I mean like the BEST I've ever seen, I kid you not. I would totally recommend this store whole heartedly. Love it

This was my first visit to this store. If you are a salt water aquariest.. This is the stir for you! Beautiful saltwater tanks filled with beautiful fish. They don't carry nano fish, but their selection of frozen foods for nano fish is excellent. They also sell some pretty spectacular reptiles. I will be going back!

Wonderful bunch of guys and gals working here. They are all very knowledgeable and can either answer any questions directly or get you to who can. They have an excellent selection of salt water and fresh water fish, reptiles, amphibians and tarantulas. AE is my one and only store for purchasing feeder insects for my geckos every week and I won't shop anywhere else!

They have a great selection of pets, decor, and supplies for all your aquatic and reptilian needs. I was pleasantly surprised when entering Aquatic Environments. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The aquariums look relatively well kept and their selection of aquatic plants and coral was astonishing. I would recommend Aquatic Environments to anyone who is interested or already keeping aquatic/semi aquatic babies. I also purchased an axolotl there recently and the little guy is growing up fast! I purchased him very healthy so it has been easy🤣 Thank you Aquatic Environments for making my experience quick and stress free!

Staff is knowledgeable and pretty friendly. Amazing selection of saltwater and freshwater fish. The freshwater section did have an ick outbreak in a few tanks, which happens in ANY store. My only wish would be to see a sign on the tanks warning newer hobbyists to potentially avoid purchasing from those tanks or purchasing an ick treatment with said fish up front. Will definitely be shopping here often.
