Also very neat and clean ...layed out protection down so my carpet wouldn't get dirty. After the work was done he explained all of the work he did on my report. We just purchased our home and wanted to make sure the fireplaces worked before using them. Josh the tech was on time, very friendly and very professional. He cleaned the chimney and fixed the gas lighter on our wood burning fireplace and set up our gas fireplace. He instructed us on how to use the gas fireplace in the most efficient way. Great service all the way around!

Hired this company to clean my fireplace on a recently-bought house 6 years ago. They claimed my fireplace was defective and that it needed to be entirely replaced. They could not recommend a proper fireplace replacement, so we settled for an ugly stove insert.Now, having hired them to clean the stove insert they recommend and they installed, this company has the nerve to tell me that the stove was improperly installed and must be replaced. I’m now doubting whether my old, beautiful fireplace actually needed to be replaced to begin with. Whether this is a tactic to sell upgrades or simply incompetence, I cannot recommend them for either cleaning or installing.

We were in the middle of a fireplace remodel and learned last minute that we had to get our chimney cleaned (small miscommunication from the folks remodeling our fireplace) - River City came to the rescue despite the short notice! They were responsive, got back to us quickly, and gave us a few options on timing so we could pick something that worked with our schedule. I recently hired River City Chimney & Hearth to inspect and service the fireplace in my home. They were friendly and professional from the first call until the service was completed. They were extremely efficient and I could hardly tell they had been there when I got home, they did such a great job of cleaning up after themselves. I also had them work on my Green Mountain Grill that I was having trouble with. Dustin did a great job diagnosing and fixing the problem and was extremely helpful. If you are needing to service you fireplace or looking to purchase a fireplace or grill, definitely give River City a call. You won't be disappointed with their first class customer service and work.

These guys are great! We had them come and service our wood burning fireplace after buying our new house just to make sure everything was safe for our family. The tech did an excellent job and even cleaned our fireplace doors before he left. They were even able to find some parts to update our older unit. River city came to sweep and camera my chimney. They were on time and I received a text reminder and call before they came to my house. They worked quickly and were very clean. They used a large shop vac while performing the sweep to keep the shoot out of our house. They explained everything I needed to know very simply and provided an electronic report with pictures and details of their findings. Very knowledgeable guys and also very professional. Would recommend their service!

Avoid! Had them clean and inspect my gas fireplace. Found that the pilot assembly needed to be replaced and had to order the part. So the tech said he would paint the box after he replaced the pilot. They wanted to charge me $425 to replace an $80 part. So I had someone else do it at a much lower cost. Then they wouldn't come out to paint my fireplace box because they didn't install the part even though I paid them for the service. Very poor way to run a business...get your money then they run.
