It’s a nope. I don’t mind going there when needed. Prices are too high too truly grocery shop. Cashiers are friendly, front end management is always friendly. When I do see people in the aisles, they are nice. The employees shopping for online orders, do not care if you are there. They will block the area. They will not move; not even with an excuse me. The reason I end up at HyVee is due to my spouse and her Starbucks. Ironically, I get this survey today. We are usually never in HyVee at the same time. We send each other. Today though, I had to walk out! I wanted to say something to the Starbucks Manager and her blatant rude behavior. The way she was speaking to my wife, I had to go to the car. She is usually pretty stone faced and just there. I don’t get it. Either way, that attitude was way worse today, I had never seen them interact. There are bad days and then there are bad employees and management. You choose.

Pretty good consistency on availability. They have decent quality control and cleanliness in the produce department which is a big factor in where I shop for myself and as an independent contractor. I hate delivering less than the best and this location keeps pretty good tabs on making sure moldy/damaged produce is removed promptly.I wish that was something corporate would budget for; more routine and thorough cleaning and rotating of produce. This statement will stand on all locations that I review until corporate hires more staff explicitly for this instead of trying to overburden current employees. I know they have a lot to do in each short shift of theirs so it is nearly impossible to “blame” staff for doing what corporate demands of them. They have to stock, clean, rotate, assist customers along with making sure everything above is performed to quality/corporate expectation level. Please stop cheating yourself(corporate), the employees, and the customers. You loose more money having dirty/moldy/damaged products than you would by hiring enough people to do quality work in their shifts instead of being rushed or not getting to everything.

I've been going to Hyvee in this location for over 20 years. The service is great. The staff is always there to help if you need to find something. Due to it's location it gets busy sometimes but it's busy for a reason I guess. 5 stars for me.

Very unhappy with Hy-Vee today as I stopped by to confirm an order that we placed back in the early part of January for some fish for our fish fry coming up on March 11th and to hear them say that they now can't get it. It didn't go well with me on that when the man I put the order with quoted me 3.50 per# for the fish and then for him just telling me that he could not get it or that it is going to cost 5.75 per # This is not right!

I was blown away when I walked into this amazing grocery store! Hard to believe the amount of beautifully presented choices of all varieties of food from produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, fresh fish and seafood, salad bar..... truly incredible! The store offers just about anything you can think of and some items you would never dream of! Even just fun to walk around and feel the ambience. I'm overwhelmed to find such an array in Council Bluffs, Iowa. There's even a nice Cafe inside the store!The employees were very friendly and helpful! What a hidden gem of a grocery store!

The other bought groceries on my healthy food card. At checkout my card, wouldn't work. The store was quite busy and there were people behind me. The checker never looked agitated or rushed. I was apologizing and her response was Its ok, don't worry ". One of the managers came and instead of sending me on my way took me to the courtesy counter and tried to get my card to work anyway possible while I was on hold about the card. After a half hour I just hung up. He had gotten the card to accept 50 dollars and let me pick out what I needed most. Never once tried to rush or even give up and so understanding. I was so humbled as well as very impressed!

I stopped at HyVee Madison Avenue, Council Bluffs, IA late this afternoon. Needed a quick dinner. Picked up a rotisserie chicken in deli. Got home. My husband started carving ut. VERY VERY bloody. We threw it out. I'm a retired Microbiologist. Don't know how long it had been un that warmer oven. Threw the chicken out. Don't know how long the chicken had sat in the warmer. Calledstore. Was told they had a similar call thday before. day gesture

They have overpriced themselves out of my business. We hauled produce for HyVee for years in the 80's and 90's and always shopped there, not any longer. I do not buy store brands EVER, I can say the quality is seldom the same.

Hy Vee customer service has disappeared. Their Council Bluffs Iowa stores have installed gates so you have to exit through registers. They will no longer sell gift cards if you want to use a credit card to buy them. I am a local small business owner and have bought my staff gift cards at our local Hy Vee for 17+ years. Not today, I cannot use even a business credit card to buy them. The young manager just turned me away and said it was the stores policy. I am very disappointed in this once great Iowa Business**Update, the business asked me to reach out, I did. A manager told me to come back in and they would sell me gift cards, I just had to tell the checkout person it was for business. I didn’t get an apology, just come on in and we can sell to you. I found it easier to go to a different store in town where I can buy any gift cards for any cost with my credit card and it doesn’t have to be for my business.**

I work from 9-6 there is no time to take back the bottles and cans that you charged me the deposit. I went in the store at 10 minutes after 6 and was told that they don't take them after 6 . You can not redeem them on Sunday or Mondays and not before 9 am but you sure can charge me for the deposit any time. Change the hours so working people can redeem the cans.

Nearly every single Hy-Vee I go to is top notch in nearly every category.... except consistently low prices. You want reasonable prices!? Shop at Sam's Club, Costco or Walmart. You want a shopping experience with quality, friendly customer service, clean environment, multiple services (banking, USPS, etc), well stocked shelves with a wide variety? Shop at Hy-Vee.

I love the store on 57th & Center. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I can usually find everything myself except a few items like candied fruit fir fruitcake cookies. I asked for directions!

This will be the short version —-Ordered Christmas floral arrangement to be delivered on 12/22/2023 via TELEFLORA-recipient home 12/22 all afternoon-HyVee Floral to fulfill order-Recipient called me at 5:30 pm PT to say no delivery-Recipient walked around house to find delivery card in front door-Recipient checked security videos to find HyVee floral van in front of house at 3:39 pm CT, walked to front porch, returned to van and then walked to front porch and left card. Did not ring doorbell-I called HyVee, was hung up on 2 times-Third call got to floral department, female who answered asked for my name and number so manager could handle the next day-I asked to speak to store manager-I was not put in hold so I could hear the female in the floral department relaying the problem to another female-Female picked up phone, “What’s the problem?” Those were her exact words!!-I lost it!!! I asked if she was 10 years old and she needed to learn how to talk to adults.-I explained the WHOLE problem only for her to tell me she couldn’t do anything until the store manager was in tomorrow.-So I told her I wasn’t dealing with a manager just another store employee with no authority to help me. Told her to find the invoice/order, write C-A-N-C-E-L across it. I asked if she could do that. Told her customer service at this HyVee has left the building.-The service given by the adults, anyone over 40, at this store is good, anyone under 40 is totally unacceptable. May want to think a more stringent training program before Fairway and other stores take your customer base.

I went to slef pay there was no employee in area, I paid for my 2 meat and ready leave self check out area, then old employee lady decides to stop me and check my repicet to see if I paid for the items, very rude to think I was stealing, there camera and self check out had a weight thing know item was check out, this old lady need stop thinking everyone a thief because they nit, old lady should been in area if not don't come running to customers thinking they didn't pay for item,Employee need respect customer or they wouldn't have a job. Your employer name will be added with a picture showing who disrespectful old lady is...

Pros for this store, they have electric charging stations available for EVS, cons for this store, just about everything else. The layout and entrance of this store is just a mess, it seems quite different from every Hy-Vee I've ever been in, it also feels very small when you are inside of it, as well as very disorganized, and the weird cattle gates they use to corral you through the entrance just make me feel uncomfortable.

The store is clean and the employees are friendly. Unless something is on sale, it's overpriced, but I still shop here specifically for the Iowa and Nebraska brands that aren't as easy to find at the big box stores, and the bakery items!

I sometimes shop at that particular Hy Vee store when I'm in that vicinity and it's fresh produce and a variety of of items at reasonable prices. I like this Hy Vee located at 42nd Center Street Omaha Nebraska 👍.

Get a map and u a ethe app to find what you are looking for.. the store is huge and is organized a little different than most stores. Look up items on the app to find which aisle it is in... it is usually right. :-)So much stuff in the store!

Very nice indeed! Cleen, courteous, and well stocked. I just didn't like how the front of store is set up around the cashiers, too cluttered, congested. Like going through a tunnel or under a bridge. They need to open it up some.

Tried to “upgrade from fuel+ perks to perks card but they were always busy…such a time consuming process when you already have all the info. Was limited on time and clerk refused I give me the “perks price” for bananas! Guess I will start using Aldi, Walmart or Fareway.

I got my wedding cake here. They did an amazing job with it. The look and taste was amazing. The only thing I would recommend is trust the experts. If they say the cake feeds so many people. It will. I had a lot leftovers. Not that I mind. I just will be eating cake for months.
