Awful shops, couldn't get many pictures as employees were staring me down. Puppies in unfurnished kennels, lizards looking emaciated and dehydrated. Birds shoved in high numbers in cages together, no lights on fish tanks. Large birds in small cages. So much wrong here! Please don't support this store.

Small family owned business with friendly staff that are always accommodating! I'm always for supporting local and family owned businesses! Absolutely a fun place to visit to see a wide variety of species for sale, which is something that is hard to find anymore. I adore all of the Rodents we have purchased. Always a nice selection of fish too.

I have gotten all of my pets from here!! The fact that I can trust a pet store that is family owned and opporated its a huge plus for me!!!!!! I've had my current golden retriever for 2 years now he's is the smartes and most loving! They have any pet you want and food and all accommodations they need to go home to live happy! They will always answer questions you have Becca is absolutely amazing and soo kind! Thank you bird cage for doing your best and loving the animals!!

Firstly, I walked in, and it smelled like dog poop. I walked around a bit and saw the poor puppies in small kennels with at the very least 2 dogs in each one. They were pooping and didn't have enough room, so they would step in it.... I felt so bad. This place is worse than Pets R Us in Omaha.... Please, if you want to adopt a dog, please adopt from a rescue. Or at least not from a store that sells dogs....

The animals are kept in horrible conditions. They do not care about their animals. They're in cages entirely too small, they're never taken out or given any sort of stimulation. The rodents are rarely handled. It's evident by their behavior. The puppies are stuffed multiple to a cage, no room to move around. They're not taken out for mid day walks. They look miserable. The woman working that day wad incredibly rude despite me making a purchase. I really hope aspca shuts this down. I'm in the process of gathering evidence to send to multiple animals rights advocacy groups in order to either shut them down or improve their living conditions. Cages and tanks are scattered even across the floor and piled on top. Please don't support vendors like this. Its animal abuse and neglect. They're doing the bare minimum to keep them alive just so they can turn a profit. Instead join any of the number of Facebook groups with private breeders whose, who animals won't have behavior problems do to their living conditions.

The Bird Cage is a wonderful pet store. They have what I need to take care of my pet family. Super friendly service. The variety and quality of animals in store always impresses me. Thank you for being there for me bird cage staff!

Now I understand pet shops aren’t going to smell great but this place smells HORRIBLE. This place is sad and disgusting. They charge $100 for mutt rabbits and get puppies from puppy mills. They completely stack animals on top of each other in cages i’m not sure how any of their animals are alive. Animals had no toys just a bowl of musty disgusting water and moldy food. This place is very sad and while I assume the owners do not mean harm they honestly need to just shut this place down. I went once before and gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe i came on a bad day. Came another day and this place was disgusting. This pet shop might be worse than Pets R Us. HORRIBLE DO BETTER OR SHUT DOWN!!!!

Becca is very nice she a loving person she takes great care of animals she has always helped us with kind and generosity if you are looking for an animal or multiple animals your best option is talking to Becca she knows every animal in the store she has the best interest for the animal and you!!!!! Best deals in town of council bluffs

Literally one of my fav. pet stores! i love the girls that work here, we always have great convos while im waiting for my dog to be groomed!! i love walking around the store looking at all the animals as well as their cute selection of dog clothes haha!! the best family owned business i’ve been around!

Can't give 0 stars. This place should not be in business. I do not know much about bird care so I won't comment on them but the reptiles, puppies, and spiders are kepts in horrendous conditions. The people who work there should be ashamed to display the animals the way they do. Puppy mill dogs in tiny cages standing in their own feces. There is a corn snake that is extremely dehydrated on sand (totally inappropriate) and looks like it has at least two rounds of stuck shed. Three juvenile iguanas in the same 40 gallon tank. Crested gecko in a terrestrial set up. Each tarantula is in too small of an enclosure with no substrate or hide or moss. There's an arboreal T in a terrestrial tank. This place is gross.

Ngl the first time I was there it smelt kinda funky and weird? Over time I’ve gotten at least 4 dogs from them? I mean one time I saw a chinchilla in the corner of its cage shaking and when my sister tried getting a closer look it almost bit her… I like the fish tho

Bird Cage is by far the worst pet store I've ever been too. The place stinks 24/7. Their puppies smell horrible and are not given proper shots and care. Their birds are put into crowded cages. Their kittens are always looking sickly. And to make things worse, their rats are stuffed into tiny, tiny aquariums. I went and visited on 7/27/2017 and I found several mama rats with large numbers of babies in with the other rats and other male rats. There was also a dead baby rat and a dying baby rat. The people there do not care their animals at all. The rats are of breeding age and are put in with both genders. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!

Just got a puppy from this store about 2 weeks ago brought him home and he started coughing. Took him to the vet twice the last visit we found out he has fluid in one of his lungs.

Long time family owned pet supply store with decent prices. They also have a selection of live animals, talking birds included. They offer vaccines for cats and dogs with Omaha pet vaccination clinic every Friday from noon to 7 pm which is very convenient and very affordable. No appointments needed just walk in.Most of the staff is friendly. It's always fun to look at the animals, however it breaks my heart to know how sad and lonely the animals really are. I don't like to see them in small cages and they just want to be loved.

Called them to see about some iguanas, very rude from the start, then I asked how big are since i live far and she told me i need to just come in and look for myself then bluntly hung the phone up! Does the store manager or owner know about this type of behavior? Trust me tipple B is being contacted today!

I’ve heard a lot of bad things about this place but decided to look for fun one day and saw a little bunny that we fell in love with. We got her and didn’t even get to have a full two weeks with her. She suddenly died on Dec 31st. We have another rabbit who is in perfect health and we have never had issues with. I called the store and explained the issue and they said they do not offer more than 48 hour guarantees on small animals. They instead offered me a new rabbit for $50.I will never go back here and would not recommend getting any small animal from here. Taking my rabbit to the vet to make sure he didn’t pick anything up from the baby. Im so sad and disappointed, and so was my 7 year old.

We got a kitten for our daughter and he is wonderful. The store is very loud, puppies barking constantly which is annoying when trying to talk. Overall happy with the kitten and our little girl is so happy. Thank you for helping us make our little girls Christmas perfect.

I love the bird cage pet shop. They are always friendly and make you feel like it's your store. They are super helpful in answering your questions. I made this my go to when a young lady working 1day asked me if she could help me with anything. I asked about their grooming and she told me all about it. I then told her I was looking for a very patient and caring groomer to help me with my dogs 1 of them being my first fur baby ever to not like nails done. He bites me and tries taking off. He growels at anyone who walks near him or I and then proceeds to bite. But not Becca she walked rite up to him and was able to make hands on contact and to his front part of head. I haven't went anywhere else
