I found what I wanted for my cats. On an impulse, I asked an associate about cat t-shirts. She commiserated with me over their unavailability. I appreciate the large Betta fish selection.

Service is usually slow and cages/enclosures aren't usually clean. But they have a decent selection of animal/pet supplies and the Vital Care is a good deal.

I recently visited Petco in Coralville, IA, with the simple goal of buying a toy for my West Highland White Terrier, Parker. However, my experience was far from straightforward.Firstly, the store's condition was disappointing. The aisles were cluttered, making it challenging to navigate, especially for someone in a hurry. I had hoped for a quick in-and-out trip, but the disorganization slowed me down considerably.The checkout process was particularly frustrating. Despite my existing membership in their rewards program, the staff member persistently encouraged me to sign up to get a discount on the toy. This insistence, despite my clear indication of not wanting to sign up, felt pushy and disregarded my needs as a customer in a hurry.Furthermore, the communication at the checkout was confusing. After declining the membership offer, I had to explicitly ask how to proceed with a standard purchase, which should have been straightforward. The additional charge for a plastic bag, while understandable from an environmental standpoint, felt like yet another complication in an already tedious process.In summary, my visit to Petco was far from the efficient and pleasant shopping experience I had anticipated. I hope the store will take steps to improve its organization and customer service, especially in understanding and respecting customers' time and preferences.

Zoe was who groomed my 7 month old 7 pound puppy. She did amazing!! My puppy hadn't been to a professional groomer before and Zoe handled her so well!! They typically don't do a full groom only the basics, on a puppies first visit unless they do really really well. They don't want to traumatize them on their first visit. Well Zoe was amazing and sweet to our furbaby! My puppy loved her!!!! I will be requesting her each time. Also shirt purchased at this location right after her grooming. I let her pick out a toy too. They had a great variety!

Not a bad place when you’re in need for pet supplies. They generally have much of everything in abundance. It lacks the appeal and organization of your typical pet supply company. However it does get the job done ✅

Bought approximately $50 of treats and dog toys. Then was asked if I wanted a bag-- for $ .10- not ok! But I had too much to carry without the bag, will probably go down the road 1/4 mile from now on to Petsmart.

Just like the old Petco, but Aldi-ified.A trollish looking man-child, maybe in his early 20s (?) was staffing the cash register when I visited around 1:30pm on Friday, 8-Feb-2024.I allowed a mother & her adorable 3-year-old son (who really wanted to get outta there, like, now! lol) pass me in line. I think little dude had to go potty or something. The mother was grateful and appreciative.The cashier (who appears to believe he’s charismatic?) continued to (at a glacial pace) slowly help customers, regaling them with detailed stories & personal anecdotes about how he found his pet(s) on Craigslist, on a farm, guy was getting old & couldn’t care for animals anymore, etc.He bags other customers goods & sends them on their way, slowly. At this point, I’m beginning to roll my eyes. As many of us would, who came to Petco & did not expect to spend 7 years in the store.Finally, it’s my turn. I have 6 items, a $130 cat-tower, and several multivitamin-type supplements for my sick, 3-year-old cat. My total exceeds $200.This troll then has the audacity to ask me if I “want to pay 10-cents for a plastic grocery bag,” as I attempt to gather more than $200 worth of goods I had just paid for, with my hands (to keep the line moving).I asked why he hadn’t asked other customers the same question. I don’t even know what his response was, something bogus though. I had been in line for more than 20-minutes & I did not hear him solicit a single patron about a 10-cent charge for a plastic grocery bag.I’m a gay man and I feel as though his prejudice may have informed this discriminatory practice & may continue to inform such a practice.Maybe he didn’t like my attitude? Don’t care. I will not be back to this Petco. And I will share the truth (which is disparaging) as far and as wide as I can.

Great selection of aquatic plants, fish, and other accessories. I prefer Petco vs Petsmart as they have more immersed in water to prevent the plants from melting.

I've been taking my CavaPoo to Petco for grooming & nail trim/buffing for over a year. Eddie is wonderful w/Suze & works his magic to make her beautiful! Giving her a pedicure is no easy task unless she's sedated 😂! I am in awe that he can even touch her feet & deal with her (4) due-claws. The whole staff ( both grooming & store) are very friendly, knowledgable & helpful. I love that the staff recognize my girls Suze, Joy & I as we walk into the store - greeting us w/a smile! Thanks for taking care of my baby so well Eddie!

I paid 10 dollars for a membership witch I am now locked into for a year and I don't even get any discounts and it won't let me use coupons that I have for my membership and they won't let me get out of the membership and they keep changing my bank account every month

Bailey and I LOVE the grooming at Petco. Eddie knows how to handle this large shedding machine and she always comes out looking and smelling good. Highly recommend Eddie as a groomer!

They were so helpful and have great customer service. I was given their address for the vaccine clinic, and the company who does it, cancelled the one at their location but did not bother to update the customer (me) that it was moved. I ended up having to drive a distance away to get to the correct location. Even though they couldn't fix it, they were very kind and apologetic, and it really wasn't their fault.

Do NOT bring your dog here for grooming, they will hurt yourself dog without letting you know about it!!! I have to say this particular petco store has the worst customer and pet grooming service EVER!!! I made an online appointment for my dog for a full bath and hair cut service on 10/2 and when I went in that day, they said they couldn’t see it on the system, I even showed them my confirmation text message that has the time and date on it, their reply was we are too busy today and send me home. The lady said you can come back tomorrow. Well, I don’t have a choice at that time so when went home, what a waste of my time. By the way, every staff at this petco store (coralville, IA) were mean, you can tell none of them really love animals and they all seems like they hated their job. Anyway, I showed up the next day and gave my dog to them for the grooming service. When everything is done, when I ready to pay at the check out, the person even asked me for tips. Wow, that’s professional!!! I asked the groomer is everything ok? She said yea, everything is good. When I took my dog home, I realized there’s a huge deep cut right at her stomach and she is bleeding badly. I was so piss and I couldn’t believe they didn’t say anything. When I called the store, no one answer the phone and I don’t even have the option to leave a message. So, I called there hotline and they said their manager will give me a call back tomorrow morning because there is nothing that they can do now!! Anyway, pictures speak louder than words, you guys just take a look at those pictures. This is horrible, my dog is just an imperial Shih tzu which only weighs 5 pounds and now she is still bleeding and in a lot of pain!!! Do not bring your dog here, they don’t care about your dog.

Decent selection of fish including a ver varied selection of betta fish. There are turtles and aquatic fish sold here not seen in other pet stores. However, lowered prices that use PALS cards and discounts in general are mainly out of the question and thus will be very expensive per fish. As well, restocking does not occur very often.

As I went in a guy with a German Shepard also entered. The dog started growling and snarling viciously at a dachsund. The owner had trouble getting the dog under control. The dauchsund and his owner left. Then the guy behind the counter started a friendly conversation with the German Shepard owner. When I needed help, I had to search up a clerk. When I wanted to check out, I again had to find a clerk from the floor. The clerk I found was helpful. The German Shepard and owner were at the checkout counter. I did not like having to be around the dog to pay though the dog had not overtly threatened me. I felt ignored by staff and threatened by a large dog that I had seen try to attack another dog.

Continue to give Petco grooming accolades for nail clipping of our "touchy" Mikey, rescue Boston Terrier. Eddie usually clips them: in his absence Jessie has clipped them. Mikey is relaxed with both. (Mikey never wants picked up, even by us,his owners. Who knows what happened in his earlier life before we adopted him?)

This is probably one of the better petcos in the area. Their fish selection is always really good and seem well taken care of. My biggest complaint is there always seems to be one or two employees running the entire store so service speed is slow. If you do end up getting someone to help you they are always nice and friendly.

It was an excellent experience for both myself as well as my wife's. The friendly atmosphere and attention to both ourselves as well as our pet is critical and happens every time. Our dog is very much a one-owner and the fact that he is comfortable when entering the store is a compliment of the great service and time given our dog!
