I want to commend the pharmacist, tech, and counter person who were working last night (10/9/23). I do not know how many people they helped or prescriptions they filled but they did so with poise and compassion. Yes,, the line and wait were long but they were doing their best. It’s not their fault that they were way understaffed. I appreciate their efforts!

Long waits were routine for this pharmacy location. Appointments are not honored and take a back seat to walk in traffic. Techs are usually friendly and doing their best, but the pharmacy manager was smug about and unsympathetic to the bad customer service her pharmacy was providing.

WalgreensThe nice thing about Walgreens is it's a convenience store as much as a drugstore so they carry some of the items that I need sometimes from Viva paper towels, Laundry soap,to food- some groceries and typical convenience store things like chips, donuts, pop, water and ice cream. The first aid items are extensive and they have a large health and beauty area. They also have a small household supply area and school and office area. The customer service was great I had two different staff members took me directly to the item I was looking for. When the line started to get long they called someone up to the front right away. Just remember it's about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. I really try to look them in the eye when I'm checking out and tell them I appreciate the work they're doing. I never like to be critical of anyone’s customer service if I can help it, but I waited 55 minutes in the drive-thru at this Walgreens to pick up a prescription! Once you are “boxed in you can’t get back out of line! So frustrating.

Really the worst possible customer service in the pharmacy. They told us a prescription for horrible pain would be ready in 10 minutes, it took 40. Causing us to miss a family Christmas lunch. Can’t wait to go back to our own pharmacy.

Absolute worst pharmacy in the state of Iowa. Understaffed, disrespectful, and prescriptions are never ready when they tell you they are. If I could give it zero stars I would but one is as low as it goes.

I had the pleasure of being on hold for 34 minutes before I decided my call wasn't getting answered.Betting a small business wouldn't let their customers wait 34 minutes on hold.Strong work Walgreens.

I went into the Walgreens to purchase some items around 9:15 pm. I waited at the front to be checked out for a good 10 minutes. There was not a single worker in sight. I decided to call the store to see if someone could come check me out. When the lady answered, i politely asked for someone to come up front. She did not say a single word and hung up on me instead. Extremely rude and unprofessional.

The customer service at this Walgreens is some of the worst I’ve experienced in my life. I was in line at the pharmacy for an hour only to be told the pharmacy was closed when I finally got to the front. No heads up. No warning. Just horrible horrible customer service.

Extremely unprofessional and awkward when cashiers are fighting with each other and then manager gets involved and even more fighting occurs in front of a waiting line of customers . The most uncomfortable moment I’ve ever had at a store. Decided to forget my purchase and left the store it was that bad. Wont ever be going back.

Worst pharmacy ever. Multiple errors with prescriptions resulting in return trips where, even though you spoke to someone on the phone 10 minutes ago, they act like they have never heard of your issue and even try to blame you for it after accepting responsibility initially.Staff is rude and unwilling to make sure their customers are taken care of (laughing and dismissing a customer whose first language was clearly not English was really just icing on the cake).I was going to make a joke about how at least it’s better than renewing your drivers license… but the DOT is actually far more efficient and welcoming.

The workers are doing the best they can, but they are clearly short-staffed and Walgreens apparently doesn’t care enough to provide them the resources they need to provide customers with decent service. “Appointments” will have you waiting over an hour.

They don't deliver prescription on time. They don't give value for others time. I gave heads-up that I will be coming in next 30 minutes and yet they are saying 15 minutes more. The prescription was sent 3 hours ago.

I had a medication emergency, and the staff were so so kind. I was in tears, as this was a very important med, and due to some confusion, my pdoc didn’t know the pharmacy had not received the script. I had been without it for many days and was absolutely terrified. A woman, I believe her name was Carol, held my hand and even took a moment to teach me a calming maneuver so I could reduce the intense emotions I was feeling. She got me a 3-day emergency script, and saved me from some possibly disastrous consequences of being off this med for so long. The kindness was simply overwhelming. They deal with so much, especially now with all the pressure and scarcity the pandemic has meant for pharmacy staffs everywhere. It was the most humane and empathetic experience I have ever had at a pharmacy. Thank you all so much. I’m so grateful and humbled by the compassion I was shown today. It was the exact kind that matters. Thank you.

The drive thru is always insanely slow. Always a long line and takes at least 20 minutes before I get to the window each time. I used to work at a pharmacy and I NEVER had people waiting that long. Hire more efficient employees. And if someone has a complicated order as them to pull to the side and wait.

Twice now I've made an appointment at this location for a vaccine and twice they've told me when I got there that they ran out. Why do you take appointments if you don't bother to keep them? Why are you so bad at your jobs? Absolutely infuriating.

Expect to wait at least 30 minutes every time you come to the Pharmacy. There is never enough people working, and after the wait you will probably be told there was a problem with your prescription and you'll have to do it all again in about 40 minutes when they finally start your order. Does not if it has been a short time since the doctor sends the prescription or days. Oh yeah and have fun doing this while you or your kids are sick.

Seriously the worst service I have ever had! Canceling prescriptions for no reason, saying they are ready when they aren't, waiting 2 hours after perscriptions are supposedly ready, trying to give me the same pwrscriptions multiple times in one month, rude and disrespectful treatment, don't call doctor for autorefills until you come to pick them up, have been told multiple times that I have no insurance or must pay full price when indeed I have tqo insurances. Walgreens used to be the best. I will be taking my families business elsewhere.

If you are not going to be open during your posted hours then a sign should be placed on the door advising of such rather than just locking the doors with, what I assume, employees still inside. Tried to shop on 7/20 at 10:30ish pm but doors locked. Posted hours advised open until midnight.

I have used this pharmacy for years, and they are excellent. They always answer any questions I have and explain our medications thouroughly. As for the reviews on being slow, the only time I feel I have to wait longer than I would like is when everyone picks up prescriptions on the way home during rush hour. While this is convenient since you are out already, you must realize everyone else finds it convenient as well. If you chose another time to pick up/drop off you will be happier with your service. They have great hours, so MOST everyone should be able to pick an alternate time to pick up. As for the comment that said to have people pull a head while they are waiting for their meds, there is no door for the pharmacy people to run out of with your medication when it is ready, like there is at McDonalds. The pharmacy staff would have to run around to the front door, which is time consuming and they would not be in the pharmacy serving others when they are running back and forth all the time. I do not see where this would speed up the traffic/service. It is just best to avoid high traffic times when you can.

I’m writing this review at 10:51pm 07/05/2022 I just left Walgreens on 15601 Hickman Rd Clive about 20 minutes ago but I couldn’t enter the store because the two guys who is working tonight said that they were closing and I said the time online says 12am and he said they changed the time but haven’t updated it online yet… I believe he was lying and even if he was telling the truth it would’ve been updated online because I don’t want to believe the whoever manages this location is that unprofessional to not updated information that needed.

Sure they are nice here but the parking lot is a joke. Repaint the lines for crying out loud. It's like a game to try to figure out if you are even remotely in a parking spot. Walgreens if you are listening repaint your parking lot lines !!

As someone else mentioned, the pharmacy staff is apathetic at best. I got rude and condescending. Lady next to me got overly sweet and empathetic. Same employee. This was at 5:30 today. She did express concern when somebody from another car approached me so I added a star for that - otherwise they would’ve gotten two stars. I usually go to Hy-Vee, but they had already closed. For a long time, I used the Ingersoll Walgreens, but finally stopped due to the pharmacy’s ineptness. I now only go to Walgreens if it’s absolutely necessary.

Lines get really long. Hard to find employees if you need help. Now they have a space nearby the entrance dedicated to beauty products, with at least two employees during peak hours. Ugh!

Can't wait for CVS to open at 142nd and Hickman down the street from this store. I hate writing bad reviews but this store needs to employ ex fast food workers because they have 2 drive up lanes open at the pharmacy but only have 1 person working. They do not know how to ask a patron to drive around while waiting for their prescription to be completed so they can help the next person in line. When you call to talk to a manager all you get is they are very busy. If you can't handle the business then you don't need mine.

Walgreens pharmacy assistant refused to fill my wife's prescription.It was for a ninety day blood pressure supply. ( 90 pills). She tried to sell me six pills instead.After twenty minutes of arguing with me l had enough. I walked out and drove forty-five miles back home.CVS, Hy - Vee didn't treat us that way.What was she going to do with my other 84 pills ?
