I enjoyed my visit to Petco. There was a wide variety of things to enjoy browsing, as well as some things we could get on our shopping lists we can’t find anywhere else. The employee we talked to was incredibly helpful, and when an item I needed multiple of only had one in stock, she helped me order it online to be delivered right to my house for free shipping. The prices are a bit competitive, so I only shop here when necessary for very specific items.

Here, we got my favourite leopard gecko from. She is so sweet and never bites unless you really challenge her. And still shes sweet when you do. The only worries I have the price.

Took my dog for a nail grinding today. My experience with this grooming place has always been good. Not today. Was my dog perfect and enjoyed the grinding? No. However, Kelsi had little to no patience. Kept getting snippy and got snippy with me when I asked if there was anything I could do to help. An older lady came and helped who was much kinder. Older lady didn’t think much of it but apparently Kelsi did. It wasn’t a simple grinding and she apparently didn’t like that. Only perfect dogs for her. Anyway, she then discussed my dog not being allowed to come back with I assume the manager. I said excuse me, are you talking about my dog? I could not tell since she never spoke directly to me. I then asked if she would be allowed back. Only then did she acknowledge me and say no.My dog was neglected and abused the first year of her life. She has been a challenge because she is scared of just about everything. Thanks Kelsi for immediately jumping to the conclusion that she would not be allowed back because she kept pulling her feet away from you. She was scared and didn’t want to cooperate . However she deserves better than that. Kindness understanding and compassion is desperately lacking for you. Saying she couldn’t come back because she might hurt herself was a lame excuse. My dog made it a bit of a challenge and you didn’t like it. She never showed any aggression. I will now take her someplace where she doesn’t have to worry about getting all stressed out. By the way, she completed the grinding successfully so my dog didn’t make it impossible.

Always SO professional, helpful and friendly at this Petco location. I did a pickup order and it was super easy. They know my cats are transitioning food, so we always stay in the loop on the process. They provided me advice for their transition. They’re educated at this Petco and make me want to remain a Petco customer, even though I don’t live super close to Petco anymore. They have a personable touch at this Petco, and I hope they know their regular customers TRULY find it a treat. 🐟 Their staff is phenomenal. 👏

The store was out of the product I wanted but I was told that it could be shipped and I would receive it before I moved out of my house on April 12 which it did not. It apparently was delivered on April 16 and I am no longer even in the state! I called my old neighbor who was going to see if the package is on the front porch but as of now I do not know if I will get the package or not. Very frustrating because all of the pet stores here are out of the same thing.

We went to get a hermit crab last night and explained we have to proper care items for it. The guy was SO rude he demanded that we not get one and we needed a giant fish tank instead. We finally got to pick out our crab after he treated us poorly for 20 mins. We went up to the front and the sweet girl behind the counter checked and said it was dead and had mites on it. My little boy was so disappointed but we still picked out our crab who is super happy at our home. Very rough experience with the man we dealt with. Prolly won't be going back to that even though we've been there several times before and live 2 hours away.

Did a DoorDash order here, had to shop for the customers items myself. Had trouble finding the cat liter. Cat liter seemed to be in a few different places and not by the cat food. Team members were helpful and nice.

I got a hamster from the mills civic location. Didn’t know much about hamsters. She died two days later but wasn’t very active to begin with. Found it very disturbing when I went to the Clive location and was told I couldn’t get a replacement without giving up the body. I’m not going to let the body be thrown away. It’s a hamster.. not an object. I will say I am happy with the new one so far. So sad that she was there alone for 6 months.

The people there are very knowledgeable with saltwater aquariums and their tanks are always clean. Every fish we have gotten there has been perfect.

Usually this petco isnt so bad but i just came today and their pets are looking poorly. This poor guinea pigs eye is nearly infected shut, their agama is dehydrated and sick. Im concerned and dissapointed. But willing to change my review if there is improvement in their animals conditon.

I've gone here for grooming for years, and the store side is just fine too. Big enough to have plenty of selection, but you won't get lost in there. The employees (and groomers) have always been nice.

The folks in the reptile and fish area are super helpful. They helped me pick out a tank and items for a fish that would make it easier and better for the survival of fish.

Kelsie S. Did Josie's bath and did an amazing job! My dog came home Happy and was playing around the happiest I've seen her coming from an appointment in a long time Kelsie made us feel welcome and was amazing with my dog I had no anxiety about leaving her and I'm pretty picky. I'm very grateful for her and thank you so much for your excellent customer service please recognize her.

I stopped in to pickup some "Fresh Pet" dog food. The place was exceptionally clean and the place was well organized. It was easy to find everything that I wanted and more (did some Browsing,comparing prices, etc. ). I definitely would consider coming back to this store (close to Sam's Club) because of all the options, even though I live on the South side of Des Moines, it is worth the trip. Enjoy your pets and have fun shopping for them. Until next time.

Groomers here are so rude, and also aren't up front on additional charges, I understand matted places can take longer, but they really overcharge! And the store charges $5.99 for materials, during the grooming! This place just stinks!

Grooming dept should learn how to communicate with customers.Lizards are in terrible conditions, not proper lighting, not proper food, not proper heat, not proper flooring, but what's more disturbing is that they are telling customers incorrect habitat and food recommendations for their lizards, especially bearded dragons and selling them stuff lizards can not trive in.Just all together terrible store.If u wish to buy lizard of anykind or other animals, go to Morph Market (they have app too) and buy food/bugs from Dubia dot com. But first do your research in dept before purchasing any kind of pet. Good luck and skip big chains!

Love going here. And my dog does too. All the staff usually interact with my pup and even know her by name. We go to get her food about twice a month and they always give her treats and are really helpful if i need anything!

I had stopped at PetSmart to get my dog's prescription dog food: Royal Canin Ultamino but they were out so I came here to get it. You had one last bag, and the vet was genuinely nice in helping me get the required card to pay for it. Everyone was super in helping me find the food and pay for it.
