It was okay. Mostly clean. Everything seemed more compact though. I was visiting from out of state and thought I'd take a look around. Reminded me of a lot of our stores from the 80s.

Mother's Day 2023 - My MIL enjoys grilled hamburgers so we were serving burgers and brats for Mother's Day. I haven't purchased Fareway brats since the children lived at home--five years ago. Now I remember why!!! The brats I purchased had no flavor or spices and they were dry. My husband has grilled for years, and it wasn't his fault. Meat is so expensive now; and to have it with very little seasoning in the casing is just absurd. Your meat department used to be well known for its fine meats. Now I find myself spending less money at your store. I have always liked the small store and personal service, but I don't get that anymore. Your clerks barely say "hi" because they are too busy chatting while they scan my groceries. It's not the young high school students either!!I have always liked your store in the past, but I have two issues: 1) Corporately, your canned products do not nest inside one another so when they touch each other in the cabinet or I move the lazy susan around in my kitchen the cans fall off in the back of the cabinet. Please redesign the Fareway bran canned vegetables/creamed soups. 2) Some of your clerks at the check out line are rude. I've shopped at your Fareway store for 20+ years and have never had a problem until about 6 months ago. I usually shop your store, but maybe the Grand Avenue store would at least acknowledge that I am a customer and say "hi". (There is only one person who does this, but I usually get her.) On everything else in the store, I would give you 4.5*.

Clean, friendly. Any time I've been there it's not too busy and you don't have to wait in line to check out. And I noticed it you have an electric car they have several ports available.

Faraway is THE PLACE to buy your meat. Always outstanding. While I'm there, I can pick up whatever else I need. Checkout is fast and they help you load your car. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. No problem with parking.

I love this store! Friendly faces and you have hard working young people there! When I was checking out, the young lady behind the counter was very nice. We even talked a bit about Morningside and Dordt! The young man who helped me out to my car was also very nice and friendly! I would highly recommend shopping here! I always have a great experience!

Smaller Fareway, so there isn't as much to choose from. Employees are usually nice, but the customers can be ruder for some reason. Left a bad taste in my mouth today when I was there with a few people being mean and rude. Not the stores fault, but I noticed it.

Clean, well illuminated. Great selection without being excessive. Beautiful produce section and the typical awesome meat department. Prices are very reasonable. The checkouts have some of the nicest, engaging people you will meet in town. Fareway makes shopping enjoyable.

Good prices, good people. The meat counter is the best part. Always clean, and if you notice something dirty or out of place and say something they jump on that right away and get it taken care of. I like to go to this one because it isn't as busy as the rest of the stores and it is near my house. You can buy 2-3 times as much here with $100 than you could at the other leading grocery store in the area (we all know who that is and nothing against them but every penny counts).

Best grocery store in the nation. Great locations, great parking, staff are very friendly, well light store, wide isles, great prices. The best part of store is the meat counter. They will let you pick out eat cut, trim it slice it, etc. to your specs, wrap it all with a smile.

Masks are optional. Manager, cashier, and carryout helpers were top notch. I love shopping here. Employees are very well mannered and act like they like being there. A joy shopping there today.

I rarely shop at Fareway and now I know why. I have a second home in Des Moines and today I purchased several items at the Clive store to fill up my pantry. When putting my groceries away I noticed a bag of pretzels to expire within 2 days. I was unable to go back to the store today/tomorrow to exchange as my husband was due to have surgery. By the time I would be back to DSM again next week this bag would already be outdated. I called the store and they would not give a refund or an exchange when I returned back into town even with having my receipt. It would have to be done today, which I was unable to do. I do realize that the product I bought was not yet expired however under the circumstances this product would have been outdated to even serve guests on Easter Sunday. Terrible customer service!

Fareway has a great selection of produce and many other affordable products. They were helpful and friendly in the meat department. The front end went above and beyond to help me when we had trouble at the register. We will be back for sure.

Probably the best Fareway in the Des Moines area. Produce is always great, store is very clean, and all employees always greet you! I highly recommend you make the grocery switch here if you have yet to!

I shop at this Fareway at least once a week. Great meat counter with friendly butchers. Respectable variety of food through the store. Great prices on everything. Better produce than most grocery stores. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

I just got home from Fareway and feel happy! I was met at my car and had help getting cans and bottles in the store. I was asked if I needed help 2-3 times and when I was finished shopping I had help getting groceries to the car. I feel like I am at home while shopping there. There is a sign there that says "customer service is our first job". I think that sums it up.

Was able to find all items I went for, check out was quick and staff very helpful. I enjoy shopping there. I especially like they close on Sunday to allow employees to be with family/ go to church if they wish. Way to go Farwsy

The best servicing grocery stores!! Full service & the only stores that will still take your groceries to your cars! I'm a senior citizen & it's really needed. Have been to another major grocery store & they will load your cart but walk away don't even offer to take your cart to the drive thru.
