They got way too pricey I used to come here often but the prices got ridiculous. I haven’t been there for a while because of this. Not donating here again.

The manager followed me around the store, she waited outside the bathroom for me!.. and continued to follow me. She then stood in the doorway and took pictures of me getting into my car. I went back inside to ask her why she was taking my picture she said "You look like you were stealing". How do I look like I'm stealing? Because I'm Mexican that's why I 100% guarantee that is the reason. Just another day in north Iowa..shopping while Mexican is crime here apparently.

I don’t donate here anymore because of the prices. Belmond has a shop with used goods that you can make a little money from and their prices are lower than this place. It is really sad, you don’t see disabled people much either. I donate to Salvation Army in Mason City, their prices are very reasonable and they help more than with just their store. Really humanitarian work done there. Clear Lake is just showing the snobbery part of their community. They also take the “better” clothing pieces to their other store right next door where they charge even more. Thrift shops are not just to help the workers in today’s economy we need better prices because the average person’s wages are not covering all their expenses anymore. I really hope they consider bringing down their prices. I see they have No comments to anyone complaining.

We stopped in on Nov. 5, 2022. Hadn't been there is awhile. Could not believe the prices. $7 for a used plastic water bottle, $9 for a puzzle that you don't know if all the pieces are there, $17 for a women's top? Crazy prices. I can go to T.J.Maxx and buy clothes less expensive and they are new! Who ever is doing the pricing is doing this organization a disservice. Wouldn't you rather sell more things at a reasonable price and get rid of them instead of letting them sit? I talked to 5 other ladies in there and they said the same thing! They said they are going to start donating their things elsewhere. I traveled the 10 miles and went to Mason City and found 3 thrift shops with great prices! Wake up!!

I really used to love this place but the prices have gotten insane. $10 for a small brass vase, $6 per small candle, $1000 for a vintage settee?? Crazy. I would have had a full cart if the prices were better but walked out empty handed & bummed.

I used to spend a lot of money here. But the prices are ridiculousnow. Both in Mason City and Fort Dodge. I have been sitting in thparking lot. And watched a large amount of people coming out empty handed. It's a thrift store. Not a consignment store. I get better prices there, then here any more. I Won't come back ever again.

This store's layout is great. There's plenty of room in each department for browsing and pricing is reasonably low. The staff at the registers are so friendly and happy to chit-chat while you check out so I'm always happy to return.

One of them places that you will either fill your cart or walk out empty handed, Regional favorite, the big plus, the proceeds support those in the community that really need it the most, I have spent hundreds of dollars shopping at this place and the variety and selection changes daily, If your someone who likes places like goodwill and others then this place is a definite must visit, The staff here are very polite and very helpful, reason for the reason for three star rating is like many others have stated, The Prices are out of control on the high side, my wife and I bought a 500 piece puzzle and it was five dollars plus tax, we picked up a 1000 piece puzzle at the goodwill in MasonCity for $1 the very same day, I understand inflation has a role in higher prices, But understand this, it is donated free of charge to your establishment, reevaluate your pricing please

Yeah the store is layed out nice and clean, but some items are outrageous on price. Like puzzles that can be found in dollar tree being priced at $2 & other used ones going for up to $7 & $10.

It's a nice clean store, merchandise changes frequently so if you find something you like you better purchase otherwise it won't be there next time. Always a large variety of items from clothing, books, toys, dvds, to household and beauty. Prices are pretty high on a lot of items considering it is all donated. They also have a drop off in back to get rid of nice unwanted items.

Love shoppin here. I get tons of books and lots of dvds.. some of the things here are really pricey for me. But I always manage to spend about $25 every time I go.Update 07.10.21 this place has gone to the birds .. whoever runs it now, prices things like they are brand NEW. They also cherry pick everything that gets donated and then take to the shop next door where they price things EVEN HIGHER!!! Tshirts that used to be $1 are now $4 or higher. Golf balls that used to be ¢.25 are now 4 for$6!!!! This is a SECOND HAND STORE, differently not worth going.

I stopped there this afternoon since I have not been there for a while. The price are way to high on the clothes. $15 for a shirt.when I can go to Walmart and get a new one for less. I will never shop there again.

Depending on who Is in the back pricing you can either score some awesome deals or leave empty handed. Prices are not always consistent for the same item I have picked up two of the same exact container and paid 1.00 for one and 3.00 for the other. They wouldn't mark the other one the same as the first either.

Prices on left wall as soon as you walk in, referred as the " Hobby Lobby Wall " are priced way to high. I have seen stuff I could buy at Hobby Lobby the very same thing cheaper at Hobby Lobby when they have it on sale. Plus while I was just standing and looking I heard a man tell his wife, come on let's go they are getting to expensive. This has been a gripe among many that your home decor is way to high. It's second hand people so I'm NOT paying full price!!!!!! I told the lady her mum's are way over priced, go to Larsons Mercantile half the price and just as nice. Noticed stuff on Hobby Lobby wall half priced......do you think it's because stuff is over priced in the first place??? Bought some Fall stuff at Hobby Lobby first and once again cheaper than the Village Store. Common sense tells me if you Mark it lower in the first place inventory will move faster. Obviously no one can figure that one out yet. As far as clothes and stuff prices are ok.

Very organized and reasonable prices I went in on a quick shopping excursion and found what I was looking for in a matter of a couple minutes the only thing that took a little time was only one cashier and their was a few people that needed assistance, but once attention was back towards checking out it was very brief and I was paid up and was on my way to get to my next scheduled appointment.

Prices seem high compared to other similar type stores. For example, paperback books are $1.00 each. I agree with the other comments about the staff and layout.

Well organized store. Great place to shop for used clothing, especially pants. They hang the pants so the waist opening faces you making it easy to find the size tag.

Dirty and chaotic. I used to shop here a lot but the last time I went in there was bloody bedding out for sale. I liked straight out the door. It's a shame what this place has become.

Nice little thrift store! We visit northern IA a couple times a year and always stop here. Prices are reasonable and have a wide variety.
