I needed a room to stay in for one night because my car got stuck in a ditch and the roads could not be traveled that night (February 2020). The price was great, the bed was comfortable, and it accomplished exactly what I needed. The staff was too nice and it's nice to know that you can still get a great deal in a great small town. I highly recommend this hotel.

Clean and friendly owners/staff. The air conditioning didn't work in the first room we were placed in, but when brought up we were moved into a new room very quickly. Also they say no pets but my family is traveling due to my boyfriend working in a different town and we had to bring our dog and they allowed our dog to stay as long as she is kept on a leash so that was very appreciated! Would recommend to someone on a budget and not looking for anything really fancy or a big breakfast in the a.m. they work with what they got though that's for sure!

Hotel was a decent place to lay head when getting to town after midnight. The outstanding factor is the lady who checked us in. I made the reservation for the wrong weekend and she was able to rearrange rooms to make sure we were taken care of. 5 star staff who cares!

This hotel was adequate for my stay, the room was clean. I concerns with this property is it did not appear to be professionally operated. The room was clean upon arrival but there appeared to be some confusion as to the daily expectations, the room was never cleaned during my stay and I had to request fresh towels. Unlike the other hotels I have stayed at, the entry ways were open /unlocked the entire time I was here. The breakfast is almost non-existent. I did not know if I had a room until I actually arrived despite making early reservations. I did not know the rate until then as well. I give this location the above rating solely on the clean room and comfortable beds and the reasonable rate as well.

I move snow there and enjoy going in for a cup of coffee. It's a nice clean place .I believe they have 30 plus rooms with friendly staff to help you with your travel needs.

I've got to say, the staff here is very friendly, willing to accommodate. Comparing to lodging prices of other hotels in surrounding area, hands down the Clarion-Hometown Inn is the best value lodging offer available.Room(s) and bathroom are spacious in size, microwave & small fridge inside room. Bath towels not the "run of the mill budget style white" as might see of other establishment(s) while spending more for lodging.Continental Breakfast & Coffee set up in lobby early mornings, friendly and quite atmosphere. Shower pressure was great w/hot temperature. Bed was comfortable, resting very well.Room furnishings were very easy upon the eye. Free WIFI offered w/strong signal, having no apparent issues.The room was comfortable, very clean and "smelling nice". Vending machine(s) in hallway were modern, stocked and reasonably priced . I see why booking reservations @ this Clarion, Iowa Hotel Establishment are difficult. Trudy and her staff make the stay a very pleasurable experience.Rarely my offer rating "5 Stars" to smaller Hotel Establishments. The Clarion-Hometown Inn and Staff earning all five(5) of these Stars..

Was in the area for the weekend, decided to choose this hotel since it was cheap. We ended up getting a smoking room because that's all they had left, they told us the smell wasn't too bad but man on man was it awful!! We felt like we inhaled 3 packs of cigarettes in just 1 night. My boyfriend almost went and slept in the car. It also had a musty/moldy smell to the room and the floors felt very damp. For the most part it was clean but when I took the blanket off the bed there was a huge stain on the sheets... The floors seem thin because we were woken up every couple of hours by people above us walking around. All and all we got a total of 3 hours of sleep. I also found it odd that the front desk people leave at 10:30pm and are gone all night. I would've called up to the desk to complain. The tv had very bad reception too it would cut in and out and since we couldn't get any sleep we couldn't watch tv either. On the positive side, the staff is very friendly! We plan on coming to the area more often but may have to spend a little more to stay at the boulder.

These are the nicest people you will ever meet. If you are not from Clarion and would like to get a taste of small town Iowa hospitality and kindness. Stay here. Absolutely outstanding people. I loved the stay and have absolutely nothing to complain about in this family ran hotel.

Nice budget priced hotel. Nothing fancy and everything is a little dated compared to fancier hotels or a chain. But the room was clean, the front desk staff was friendly, and Wi-Fi was fast. Includes basic breakfast of English muffins, toast, cereal, bagels. Right on the main drag leading into town. Grocery store on one side, and on the other side is a kind of Kmart type sundries store.

On many occasions we have been talked rudely to, someone barged in our room within seconds while I was half naked and starting spraying chemicals not even giving me and my infant son enough time to grab our shoes and exit the room!! And I tried talking to them about it and it was brushed off like it was NOTHING. I don’t trust one of the house cleaners to even be in our room after all the stories I’ve been told about her FROM management, it’s supposed to be comfortable and feel like a roomie home and I feel so violated and disrespected. Very clean and friendly and quiet. Trudy the manager is very kind and took great care of us. They have everything you need all you have to do is ask.Coffee throughout the day, and housekeeping whenever you ask. Couldn't have asked for a better stay so close to family without all the noise.There is also a shopko next door or dollar General on the other side of town for anything else you need, resteraunts nearby are hardees, pizza ranch, Sam's chineese kitchen.

It was ok for the price. Need to be a little bit cleaner, tv could be updated, better lighting in the rooms and smoke detectors in rooms. I will definitely stay with them again.

First bad review I've ever given. I booked my room on May 10th for June 9th and 10th. On June 5th a friend tried booking a room and asked management if I had a room. They said they didn't and "tried" to call me. I called Expedia and they said yes....you have a guaranteed room. I left Inn a message on the 5th and no one called me. Called again on the 6th and got a rude lady whom explained that they were already booked and Expedia shouldn't have allowed bookings. I asked why no one called. She said they tried but phone wasn't valid. I asked for number they had. I said it's the SAME number I'm calling you from. She said she was done talking to me and hung up. A business in my hometown acting like this is unacceptable. It makes me feel ashamed. "Hometown" Inn. ...it is NOT!

Monthly rentals are nasty stay away from this motel , they rent monthly for $600 & put drunk & drugies people's on the roombecause their bed is full of bad bugs ,i rent only for 1 days myself no more deal with wrost service & killer bed bugs i am done

Good economical place to stay. Not fancy but clean and rooms have a microwave and refrigerator. Sink is outside the bathroom which is handy when two people share the room.

Your monthly rental stolen our property from cars & room ,u have to stop doing that ,stop putting those people in rooms,pee in parking lot no respect on your rooms issue with bed bugs we are stop coming to your hotel its bad place now , used to be goodPLACE for us our family & for busines trip ,your monthly rental they live like hell no more this place ,we are never ever in future to stop by your motel no more.
