We have always driven by and never had the time to stop. Until today. What an awesome place to go. They had so much gems and rocks. Reasonably priced on their products. Gentleman that helped us, sorry, didn't get his name, was knowledgeable and kind. Thank you sir for the chain to put that beautiful cross on. We will be back!

Kirk and Janel always welcome us with kind energy and a friendly smile. They have a great selection of quality stones and knowledge about them. I make a trip there anytime I'm looking for a stone or if they post something I have to have. I have even had things shipped and they make it easy to purchase and I get them promptly. Highly recommend going. It is worth the trip! 😃

This is seriously a diamond in the rough! This store is located in the middle of a little bitty town. If you're a traveler and you blink you might miss the whole town. My mom, 2 kids and I went in about 5:45pm and were amazed at the selection. If you have children that enjoy rocks this place is AMAZING because they have hundreds of varieties of small tumbled stones for a buck or two. The store owners were really cool as well! The lady behind the counter showed my kids a lot of really neat traits about some of the rocks and while she was doing that her husband was bringing in boxes from a rock show they had just been to. He saw we were admiring the Dragon Stone and brought out a large box of flats for us to look at. Seriously nice people. I looked at the clock as we were about ready to check out and it was 7:15pm! The store closed at 7! Oops! But everyone was super nice about it and the owners didn't complain one bit. I can't wait to go back and visit this store again! I shared a couple pictures of our purchases but unfortunately didn't take any of the store itself.

I always have such a great time going and looking through everything they have to see. I always leave with treasures and both the owners are so nice. Their prices are excellent as well. I highly recommend making the drive to go see them.

I finally got to visit the Hound Dog Rock Shop in October of 2021. I have LOVED rocks since I was little. I had plenty to look at, here, and it was difficult to choose which beauties I would take home. I finally decided on some very nice specimens! It’s a bit of a drive, out of the way of our usual travels, but I hope to visit again!

I have went into many “”rock” shops but none of them have compared. The stock always has new items. Kirk and Janel pay attention to their customers on a personal level. Every one knows if they are getting me something, they can’t go wrong at Hound Dog Rock shop.

This store is a wonderful place to stop. It’s in small town iowa right in highway 30. If you blink you’d miss it. My family and I visit on trips to see my family. I have two small children and usually in stores like this, the owners cringe when you bring kids in, but Kirk and Janelle are wonderful to my kids and constantly engage them in conversation, answering all of their questions. The store as well is great, the selection is fantastic and the the prices really can’t be beat. We stop in every chance we get and if you’re interested in rocks, minerals or crystals highly recommend you to do so as well.

I love this place!!!! So thankful this is almost in my "backyard" . My friend who lives in Georgia makes a trip to Hound Dog a "must do" whenever she visits. I am obsessed with your jewelry and well, EVERYTHING in the shop...I enjoy being able to buy unique and beautiful gifts for my family and friends here. Definitely worth the drive from anywhere USA

I've been down to this shop quite a few times and I can honestly say I've never been disappointed! The owners are very sweet and always willing to answer any questions I have or point me in a good direction. I've always found exactly what I'm needing here and the friends I've brought along love this place just as much! I still carry my little Hemph zipper bag with all my little tumblers I've gotten. 10/10 would absolutely recommend this place. Great quality and great vibes!

Great shop! They have a large variety of gorgeous rocks. Have taken my son there twice now and bought several things. You could spend hours in there just looking at all the stuff. They have great customer service and they have always treated us like they have known us forever! Very nice people!

Amazing selection, reasonably priced, fantastic service. I live in Omaha and have never been to the physical store- when something is posted online I get a prompt response on if it’s available, and it ships the next day. You can also let them know if you are looking for a certain type of piece and they will look out for you. Best rock shop to work with, they do a phenomenal job!

I really love Hound Dog & always try to make a point to stop when I’m down in the area. The owners are incredibly sweet people & very knowledgeable in what they do. I’ve also ordered from them online & they went above and beyond my expectations in receiving my products. Shipping was fast & they were well packaged so nothing became damaged. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. A great little small business for rock lovers & the like.

I could literally spend hours in this litte shop! And a fortune....lol. The Owners are so friendly and informative! I would Highly Recomend to any rock hound! Worth the drive. Just went for my first time and I'm definitely coming back! So very very cool I just loved it.

I LOVE going to rock shops. Been to quite a few. Hound Dog has a great selection to choose from, and by far has some of the best quality specimens I’ve seen available. Prices are very fair, especially when you see what other shops try to price things at.

I’ve been in the rock shop a handful of times and every time it’s a very welcoming experience. They have so much to choose from. I took my oldest with me the 2nd time I visited and they treated her so great (she’s 10). She felt very spoiled when she left with extras she didn’t plan on getting. The owners are great and always talk to you on a personal level not just a business that’s trying to just get money from you.

This store has the BEST selection I have found anywhere in the country. The prices are really reasonable, and the owners do everything they can to help you find what you are looking for. I always find more than I need when I come here. It is definitely worth the drive. Remember to check their facebook page before you make the drive; as a small business with only the two of them, sometimes they close to make trips to get more products or just to have a day off (like normal people!) so it's best to make sure.
