The store has improved tremendously in the past 6 month! There isn’t stuff laying all over the store like it use to. I can actually walk through isles and see the shelves. The older black male is very nice and respectful. The younger white female working is also very friendly and respectful. Keep up the good work. 🙌🏼🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I am able to drive but I am in a wheelchair and alone. Some people help me into it or i would be unable to go to the store. The cashier was very kind and helpful. The young gentleman that carried out my purchases and put them in the car was very compassionate and did everything in his power to help me also! That said you really need to hire more staff. Seriously!

Their employees cant get to work on time or are not competent enough in their responsibility to open the store on time ! Ive shown up many times after they "open" just to be kicked out and told theyre "not ready". Honestly if you dont even take your job seriously enough to open on time (frequently mind you)....i think that action speaks many words about them and reflects the store pretty much in its entirety. 2 stars just for the fact they have decent selection for such a small store

Understaffed, crowded aisles, messy shelves. More often than not there are multiple stock carts full of boxes blocking aisles. The store is generally a mess which is really to bad. It would be nice to have a local shop that was clean, tidy, and easy to move around in for everyone, including the number of elderly patrons I see trying to get around in here. I have had to look down an aisle to find an employee to come and check me out when I'm done. I've started to avoid shopping there.

UPDATE: We shopped here today and i was sooooo impressed on how it has changed. Couldn't stop complimenting the staff on how Great of a job they are doing. Will definitely shop there more often. Keep up the Great work DG in Charles City, Iowa.9 months ago this was my post with a 1 star. This store is soooooooo filthy. I don't think the glass doors have been washed in months. In this day and time, clean it up. No hand sanitizer behind the counter for the employees or on the filthy counter for the customers. Not wiping down the carts and there nothing for the customer to wipe them down. WOW just can't believe it.

There is a lot of different types of items, but the building is just too small. First impression when walking in was, what a mess. You can barely get 1 cart down an isle. They need too reduce the amount of product to make more room. The food cooler section smelled bad like spoilage, but there was a worker cleaning 1 of the cooler cases. The cashier was nice and seemed happy. We asked where an item was and she instantly came out from behind the counter and took us there! If not for the 2 employees working then, I would have given a 2 star. All in all, cluttered store, but good employees.

I walked into the store in Charles City, IA. 2 employees were right there talking to each other. They looked at me, moved aside, and kept talking. Didn't say "hello" or anything! Store is CONSTANTLY trashed, isles overturned onto the floor, and boxes lining them. This has been going on for years and it isn't the only one I've heard of being this awful, which means it must be bad on a corporate level... They just don't care!

Store was very clean and I appreciate that. The employees are very helpful to find the things I needed. Every employer had mask on and hand sanitizer is available for customers to use.

Not bad if you don't mind a bit of chaos. They have a lot more then expected in variety of things. Prices are good. Friendly staff. This one probably could use a bigger location for all their stuff. Good hours.

Prices not marked all the same... Most marked lower while two other same products marked higher. When I asked a worker.. they just shrugged their shoulders & were reluctant to answer me as to why they were all the same price at the register when not clearly priced where the products CT was on the shelf. One worker got up to just scan them all on what looked like a cell phone, only to tell me all of the products should be marked at the higher price then the lower price that was marked on the shelf then shrugged her shoulders again, saying I don't know. Then why do you work there if you don't know your own job????

DIRTY!! Can't find a thing, the isles are full of boxes, most isles are so full you can't even go down them. The shelves well you might want to plan to be a while because you have to dig threw all the stuff, NO organization of the shelves what so ever. But for a Dirty store the staff are friendly.

I stopped into our local Dollar General twice last week and both times most aisles were blocked with boxes on carts, I mean the toy aisle was totally blocked with carts loaded with boxes!! I had to try several ailes to even get over to the cold medicine aisle, only to find it mostly blocked with another cart loaded with totes. I squeezed in behind got my cold medicine and had to wait in a long line because they only had one checker! This stores management has changed a few times in the last year. They need to hire people to stock the shelves at night when they do not have customers. It is usually a mess. So much so that I don't go there very much! It's a shame!

The store was torn apart, with large stockimg carts all ovee and stuff on the floor in every isle; had hardly anything in it. The store smelled of cigarette smoke throughout. Even my two young kids commented how gross and unkept it was.

The store was filthy. Boxes everywhere. Couldn't get down the isles nor could you find anything as shelves were not stocked. I when employees see you come in they go to the back room and then you never get helped. Therefore I left. I will NOT RETURN.

The store itself needs a bit of updating for real... But as for the employees that work there, they try thier best to assist and have a positive attitude... That counts for a lot.

This store is a mess...shelves aren't stocked..aisles have boxes and carts in them so u can't walk around and look at stuff...been this way awhile so gotta travel out of town to a Dollar General that's much better...

Aisles are impassable. Carts full of merchandise fill the aisles. It's impossible to shop in this store!

Overcrowded items are usually blocking the Isles not like other Dollar Generals that I've been to oh and one day they need to fix the doors right

I mean it's a Dollar General after all it's okay stuff with scattered all up and down the aisles it was pretty chaotic and the local people thought it was a hangout took forever to get them out of line the girlfriend almost got hit by a truck traffic is very congested

Quick in and out shopping, but not best prices. I do like how they also have groceries, for when your in a hurry :)
