I'm sure the grocery store itself is great and my family shops here every once in a while. The bad review is for the Chinese department. "Hy Chi" has taken a serious step back at this location. I've been eating the Chinese at Hy Vee for many years but today has to be the worst I've ever seen. It is not fresh. There is no sauce in the sesame chicken or orange chicken which I would guess are big sellers judging by the size of pan they get compared to the other selections. When I asked the employee working about the appearance she said it's very fresh and sells a lot of it. Quite frankly nothing appeared to be fresh whatsoever. You could at least stir things up to make it appear fresh. They clearly don't care. If you are in the Cedar Rapids area and want Chinese go somewhere else. If you want Hy Chi go to a different one. It tasted about as bad as it looked. Spend a little more money and get good food.

My HyVee Aisles on Line experience went very smoothly. The process is very efficient and the loading employee was prompt and courteous. This was the first time using the online ordering and pick- up since COVID. Very handy and saves time going onside to shop.

HyVee is expensive and cost of living going up has only made it more so... But the people are friendly / helpful and this HyVee has been our go-to since the one closest to us had some major customer service issues and we won't go back for regular shopping there... But this one is always fast to get us out of there, understanding that we're disabled, and helpful for anything we need.

Came here to just eat at Wahlburgers, but wound up amazed with this grocery store. As a southerner I always thought Publix was the best, but not anymore…this HyVee is sooo next level with hot foods, deli, variety, spaciousness, and cleanliness. Outstanding 🏆

Crazy expensive! All under age under paid employees. It's crazy that a bunch of under age kids are running Hy-Vee. If Hy-Vee doesn't pay kids a living wage, insurance, and PTO, why are the prices so high? I understand there were supply chain issues, but this is crazy. They used Covid as an excuse to jack the prices and they never dropped them. People are starving out here. Especially the kids at Hy-Vee that got a .50 cent raise to $12.50 after 2 years! Hy-Vee hates us. They hate us all. I can't go into a Hy-Vee without spending $100. Go get the same stuff at ALDI, and it's less than $50. I'm happy to pay a premium to a company that passes it down to their employees, but this is not one of those. Avoid this scam.

Pick up moved to north parking lot behind liquor department. Across from Jimmy Johns.Staff was working very hard. If someone was in charge organizing pickups I think they would not have been so stressed. Website basically lists items such as toilet paper in stock even when it’s not. So you don’t know which items are in stock and by the pick up comes around you never know what you’re getting.After arriving for my pick up I called number on email and she directed me to the parking area and said to call number on signs and tell them your name I tried calling the area code (515) number posted on signs 18 times and never got an answer. An employee figured out they had to go to the cars waiting to get the names. I felt so bad for the staff because they were giving it their all.

Clean store, shelves are stocked, and workers are helpful when I need help finding an item. Pharmacy is great too. I've gotten many vaccines here.

Food is always a disappointment. I always say never again, and a month passes. I give them another try. Never a dream in the hot food. Other Hy Vees have deals. Not this place. Boo as always.

They have the area where I can take coffee beans and coarsely grind them for my cold brew maker. Not all Hy-Vee's have this option. Great selection also!

Nice and clean store. Lovely staff. But it is surprising and disappointing that I called the store four times before closing (>30 minutes) and no one answered.

The store is nice. Would not say I recommend applying for a job here, however. Was asking for 20-25 hours per week and eventually was not being put on the schedule more than 10 per week. The management system is not indicative of how a proper store managerial system should be ran. Managers caring more often about what they want to talk about than the employees, limiting hours of part time employees to presumably cut back on payroll, not giving adequate reviews of employee performance, if any reviews at all, trying to cover up wrongdoing, etc.Worst management of any of Cedar Rapids' Hy-Vee locations i've been at. Not a great option if you're looking for a job.

I got the new "perks" card today & when I checked out I needed help as I was buying one of the specials which was purchasing two 20 pks of sushi for $10... but it was ringing up as $10 each. The man went & checked out the "special" & cane back, said it ended a week ago & removed both of the sushis from my bill!

Every time I go to hyvee they have me waiting 20 minutes to a half hour before any help and being an Instacart shopper and the poor customer service I receive every time I go to hyvee is just rediculous Instacart doesn’t say I can’t use self checkout this is rediculous

Great selection and quality, but with that comes high prices. Also, they’re even higher if you shop through the app for pickup or delivery versus in the store. (I understand why that is, but just thought other shoppers might want to know that.)

We were visiting my daughter from out of town and ordered mealtime to go for the convenience of curbside service as advertised. We get there and after searching the parking lot there was no Designated parking for Mealtime to go. Tried to call, went to VM. We entered the store to ask where we should park we got 3 different answers from 3 different employees. So much confusion, no one could tell us or show us where to park. Employee finally said just park anywhere and we’ll find you. Really?? I said we’ll be parked right outside your door!!!!!I have never experienced anything like this in my life. (We have use mealtime to go frequently where we live and it is a very simple easy process since there is a designated area for this service)Never again will I spend my money or waste my time at this store. What a total disappointment, waste of time and inconvenience.

You can always count on HyVee to be clean, friendly and quality food at the most competitive prices. Yes, you could go to a big box store but there is no comparison to the quality of produce, meat, deli and bakery. That to me is worth the occasional extra penny or two (not much, if at all).No I don’t work there. I’m a Door Dasher and customer.Their on line ordering app using drive up or delivery is so convenient. Especially for the older folks, the busy folks and the lazy folks

The catering for our graduation party was phenomenal! The employees were professional and courteous upon setting up the food. They were prepared with extra items that we may have needed during our event. The food (pulled pork, mac n cheese, party potatoes, fruit and veggie trays) had raving reviews.We also ordered bakery cookies and cupcakes and left the design up to the cake designers and they knocked it out of the park. The young employee that came to pick up the chafers and warmers was extremely polite. Highly recommend!

Waited 1 1/2 hours a to get covid and flu shots. Should not say walk-ins welcome if they Can't do it. Very disappointed won't make that mistake again.
