As far as dollar stores goes Family Dollar on 1st avenue is the best. I can get lost in this place for hours and never get chased around or made to feel like I'm unwelcome and have overstayed my visit. The employees are always very helpful and sincere

They should open another store in a different part of town. I never shop here and I went because I received coupons in the mail. I will stick to Dollar General from now on. There was a drunk man in the store hollering and cussing at cashiers, ppl in line were getting mad and threatening to start a fight, the cashiers were not friendly at all. It was not worth the trip...

While they do carry different types of products, but not all of the products are very good quality. It goes with the saying, "You get what you pay for." Which is why most of the products don't cost a lot. But if you are short on funds and need some things, this might be an option for you to get the things that you need.

Since moving to Iowa I have found great people especially at this family dollar 💞 the staff are all nice including the younger man Adam plus this is the most organized family dollar I've been in great job to all the managers and staff 💜🙏🏽 Bless you

The lady name Brandie that was working at the time was very friendly and helpful , even when she was very busy . The store was easy to get around . But there was a lot of stocking that needed done , that she had no way to do it how busy she was. Guy really was having problems as cashier

It would help if they quit yappin and another jobs where they can answer the phones or they need to hire more people to be in there when someone's calling they don't know shitt if they would open their eyes listen to for their phones to answer their phones without being grouchy

Good place to come and shop around, I usually go there for like one item and end up leaving with a cart full of stuff. Oh and that new cashier Noah is really handsome, I think I have seen him at the other family dollar across town but hes funny, caring, respectful, and all the way around great person. Noah should be owner of family dollar someday 🤷🏼‍♂️

As always, very friendly service, and a clean, easy to navigate store that seems to continually stock and supply the best deals on everything from frozen goods and food items, to school and office supplies. Their selection and prices on household goods, clothing, and seasonal ideas is also quite accommodating for this kind of store.. thank you to our local Family Dollar!

I have been stopping at this location for at least 5 years. I never leave reviews and I am only leaving this one in Hope's someone higher up will get a clue. Stopped here last night and this place was a mess, clothes all over the floor and items not on shelves. Freezer broke down, so emptiness of products. Shelves empty, looks like they are closing honestly. Staff standing up front chit chatting not really doing much. At least 6 homeless people standing right outside the door begging for money. I dont know what happened to the person named Dorothy who had worned there. But she worked hard, probably needed to keep her. At least when she was there, she tried harder to keep this location better. Worst looking store I've been in.

Will not ever go to any family dollar store. Was there on 12-20-18 asked to use a rest room cause I had to go but was told I could not it was for employees only because to much stuff went on in there. The cashier said I could walk over to the gas station and use theirs I told her I was disabled and could not walk that far. I did not know kwick shop was a designated bath room for the family dollar store that is rude to push your paying customers to another business. And the cashier was very rude mouthy what kind of cashier flips off a paying customer yes management check your surveillance video. She followed me out of the store where she continued being extremely mouthy and included another person. Real nice way to treat a disabled person let alone one who recently had knee surgery. There are people that for medical reasons need to use a bathroom often so what are they suppose to do go in their pants. This place sucks that cashier needs to be fired... Not to mention seen what looked very much like a roach ran across the chip isle. A pile of dirt on the floor but really can't believe where all other business's can be decent enough to provide a restroom but you won't and on top of it be flipped off and mouthed off to.

For a lot of people around here, Family dollar is the closest thing we have to a grocery store. They have made an effort to expand their food choices to have more healthy fare. Family Dollar also has expanded their selection of sundries. I have bought hardware items for my house and automotive necessities. The associates are always helpful. Family Dollar has a place in our community.

Manager was very disrespectful. Asked my boyfriend if he had anything in his pockets before he used the restroom...... just because of what? Other customers steal or use drugs in the restroom?! Offended to say the LEAST.

The 1st ave sw store has some real stocking and cleaning problems I only go here if it's a must I don't know if they are having staffing issues or not but this store is in a difenit need of a clean up and reorganization.

I’ve been going to this family dollars for a min with no problems today was all bad first around Mother’s Day I went to put money on my card cashier had tattoos all on her I forgot my card on the counter to go get a card for my mother and couldn’t use my card after that bank said someone changed my pen and this was the last place I used it I go in today and she declined my card for me to load on I was upset and the man was rude and yelling talking about keep going to the other family dollars talking about did I sent a kid no I have ID god say people reap what they sow karma

Wow what a dump I can say that whoever is in charge of this place should be fired on spot the floors are always covered in dirt and tags all over.You can tell that not a single person working here gives a crap about the appearance of this place.I felt like I needed a shower and a tetnos shot after shopping there.
