I prefer to shop at Fareway over all other grocery store chains. They have a good selection and good pricing. The meat counter is great. I prefer the setup of the Waterloo location however.

The only thing I don't like is when I go to check out, there is only 1 cashier, and they are usually busy. I don't want to wait to, I use self check out if I don't have much.

This is a very nice fareway. I have shopped here a few times now and plan on shopping here again for all of my shopping needs. The staff is very friendly, helpful and inviting. The isles were clear and I was able to navigate through them easily. The shelves were stocked and I could find everything I was looking for.

Fareway Grocery on South Main in Cedar Falls, IA. is clean and well maintained. Meat counter is awesome. Picked up thick cut Cowboy bone-in Ribeye steaks tonight for $9.99 a pound. Good deal on good steaks. Update 10/28/2023: Tonight we picked up a huge Porterhouse steak for $13.99 per pound and a nice 3.5 Bread and Butter Roast. Grabbed a nice head of cabbage, small yellow potatoes, green bell pepper and baby carrots. Put it all in the slow cooker tonight with onions, garlic, kosher salt, course ground black pepper and brisket rub seasonings for Sunday lunch. Oh how good the house is going to smell in the morning!

I love all the Fareway stores! The selection may not be as varied as the larger grocery stores but, I appreciate being able to get in and out quickly with exactly what I need at great prices. This is also actually one of the few places I can find natural dog treats as well as my dog's favorite collagen bones.

Do not work here. The managers are condescending and passive aggressive. No mutual respect or value towards their employees. They will shame you and scold you like a child if you make a mistake (because they are perfect) and treat you like a second-class citizen. Instead of having a conversation with you to come to a solution, they will attack you in front of others and post passive aggressive notes. No gentle reminders.

Great place for store brand savings with no loss in quality. The meat dept is a local legend for selling nothing but the best available. They even escort you to, and load your vehicle!

Love everything about the new store in cf. The location is great because you don't have to fight the traffic or crowds like u do when there's multiple stores in the same area, it's clean & well stocked, & the employees are so friendly & helpful & always go above & beyond my expectations! Also love how they're competing more with HyVee, matching sale items & lots of times even beating them in price.

Fareway has always been the little grocery store that could. you can tell they have high standards because they are always clean and generally speaking well-managed. This one is no exception. It’s a small store so you’re not going to get full line grocery store assortment but most people obviously know that. Their meat department is all it’s cracked up to be so don’t let rip off extraordinnaire Hy-Vee fool you with their stupid meat ads about how great they are Fareway has them beat hands-down. They have great sales too most of which are not advertised.

It was nice to walk in and feel welcomed. Most store act like you are bothering them. They smiled and went out of their way to help me. The variety is pretty good and the meat is the best. You get a lot for your money

So happy to have a Fareway closer by. Their meat counter has great service and they often have good sales. Their grocery selection isn't the greatest, but their sale prices are often good and they price match competitor grocery ads. This new Fareway looks great and has some self checkout aisles, if you're into that. I look forward to being able to stop by!

2 customers at the meat counter, and 6 employees, yet I had to wait over 5 minutes for assistance, and the employee did not listen and gave me something I didn't ask for, and when I brought this to his attention, he just slammed t down,and correctly wrapped the meat I asked for. The employee at the register was too busy chatting with another employee, and totally ignored me, and an employee had to tell her she had a customer, he was very apologetic and nice. This is my 3rd visit, and I will not be going back. Even though the other CF Fareway is out of my way, I will spend the extra time going there, as customer service and products are superior!!

Love this ❤️ store! Super staff, fresh produce, and hands down the best place to buy meat or chicken around. Love the bone-in breast and whole fryers juicy and tender. My kids won't eat chicken from other stores.

First time ever going to this location and Doug in meat dept.He is the man, he not helped me in my purchases but was also able to give me prices and answer questions at the same time. Awesome on how they still help you out with your groceries. Didn't think sorry no pictures. BRAND NEW

The meat counter and the grocery departments get four stars because it’s was awesome! The checkout gets one star because the lady on the cash register and the bagger were the absolute slowest unfriendly people I’ve ever dealt with. Dead people could have scanned my groceries faster, and the guy that bagged and took them to the vehicle said nothing once. I said thanks and he said uh huh .

Lovely store but am so disappointed you have 2 self serve checkouts. I think people need jobs and you are taking them away by doing this. Also, when they don't work right, yes you need help anyway....so why have them. It is still cutting jobs!

Nice smallish supermarket with plenty of good produce and decent prices with meat only second to a proper meat locker if you just need to grab a hand full of items or get your weekly shopping in this is a good place to go

Found out they don’t let employees drink water during their shifts and that is just cruel, water is a basic need for people to be healthy, customers don’t care if they drink some water while they work. I’ll support businesses that care about their workers’ health instead
