Unique! Visiting the Dutchman's Store was an experience.It is located in a rural Mennonite and Amish community.The store has a wide variety of merchandise. Fabrics and crafts, toys, clothing, hardware, novelties, fishing tackle, extensive culinary supplies, and groceries. All were meticulously displayed.I'd suggest allowing yourself at least a couple of hours to browse when you plan your visit.

I have watched this business thrive since it's conception and it has become a destination for many. It is family owned and family operated by a wonderful family. It is a one of a kind, old time general store, and an experience you won't want to miss.

I never received my paid in full order. I called Dutchman Stores and no one wanted to help me. I have been a loyal customer for years. I do not recommend this company. I spoke with the Postmaster in my zip code. He told me the package is lost and I will not be receiving it. Dutchman Stores did not care one bit about this issue. There happy, they got there money. They told me to file an insurance claim. Again I strongly would not recommend this company.

I love this place. Watch out for the sales! We filled 2 carts of food & it totaled $320. We were very pleased. There is so much to look at, food and other merchandise. My boyfriend loves it because it's a blue collar working man and they have plenty of clothes that are right up his alley. That's hard to find for him. Also, the assortment of working boots is insane. We traveled almost 3 hours to get here and we will go again.

Great prices and such a wonderful selection of bulk items like spices! Go stick up on your baking goods and shop the unbelievable ad items! They also have wonderful cookware, bakewear and all kitchen needs. A big selection of natural healing goods and even fabrics!

Excellent well-stocked with quantity items available for stocking up. Prices are NOT competitive because they offer you the BEST BUY All THE TIME. In the fall, the Dutch Store offers great prices on an assortment of pumpkins. Check it out! #twodays

The dutchmans store is one of those must go to stores! They have a little bit of everything, and they always have great specials. From bulk foods to fabric and everything in between you will find something you love. You do need to check the dates on your food items because some are outdated. This is worth the drive! The store is almost always packed full of people, and the workers are always helpful and nice.

A modern old-time general store. The Dutchman's store has a little bit of everything and a lot of some things. A large sewing section, large shoe section, and a large grocery section heavy on spices. But also clothing,toys,books,some hunting and fishing,even disk golf. It was a nice drive from Eastern Iowa to go there. A great way to spend a day along with The Dutch Country store about 20 miles away.

I love this place! I like to go here when I get the chance while passing through to go visit family. I currently live in Omaha, NE. We made some purchases on Friday, October 6th, 2023. Today, I am very sad to discover mold on my purchase with no way to exchange it. I'm not even sure if I am able to receive a fresh replacement sent overnight. It's sad. I still recommend this place. Things like this happen, but I won't purchase this item again. Maybe they should consider using preservatives to make this product more shelf stable.

I am able to come to the Dutchman every three or four months because I drive over 2 hours to get there. It is so worth the trip. The variety of things within the mercantile are amazing. I buy my hanging plants there in the spring, simply beautiful and so reasonable in price. I take a big cooler with ice so I can take advantage of all the frozen items I need (and want). It's a great place to get your baking and cooking items and ingredients. Once I am done with my groceries I head to the household area, the shoes and clothing, the fabrics and end my visit with self serve ice cream! Best pies and angel food cakes from the bakery always end up in my cart too!!

When you go be prepared for large crowds on the weekends. This is a Mennonite operated general store. They have almost everything you could ask for. The prices are better than anywhere else. Deli meats, cheeses, pastas, baking staples, and spices are anywhere from 40 to 70% cheaper than even the big box stores.

Great place for some grocery bargains. If crowds are a problem, stick to Monday - Thursday for slower shopper traffic. Their new facility should accommodate more of us crazy bargain shoppers.

Loved visiting the Dutchman's Store! My grandfather used to take me. Bulk foods, snacks & baking ingredients. Excellent fresh sandwiches from the deli! If you sew or quilt, you need to check out their fabric selection. It's been modernized to accept electronic payments & I think they're moving to a larger building on the highway soon. Parking can be an issue at the current location.

Enjoyed myself, wish I could have spent more time there. One thing I wish they would do is offer their 108" fabric for quilt backing with their other fabrics in their online store. It was very reasonabley priced. . . Found good buys in the grocery side of the store as well. A must stop for anyone in the area.

They were having a really great sale so we drove the two hours and it was worth it for us. Nice selection of deli meats, fabrics, work boots, soaps...few other things I wanted to see. Courteous Amish or Mennonite women running registers and deli; very helpful. Only downsides...check expiration dates because many have passed so items are on 'sale'... Also saw dead horse and injured people (from afar) because someone was speeding and hit a buggy-not the stores issue but a reminder that if you go you will need to slow down and be respectful regarding their ways. There was either nothing else to see in Cantril or we blinked and missed it.

Great selection and variety of items. If you plan to shop here I recommend going on a weekday or before or after a holiday because prices are so reasonable that it gets busy! If you like to cook there is lots of spices or if you like to bake there is all kinds of baking items. There is something for everyone here and at a reasonable price!
