I really enjoyed my visit at The Book Shoppe here in Boone! What an experience I had here with the huge inventory of books, games, toys, and puzzles. I especially enjoyed the comfy chair where I sat and read my future purchase, along with visits from two beautiful cats who would periodically nudge me for some attention🤗. Not just a trip to a book store, but an event I won’t forget anytime soon! Thank you Susan👍

They were having an appreciate your independent book store day. I was greeted at the door by both employees, told about drawings, free things and a general where things are. Used books are in the large back area with new books right up front. I mentioned some interests and was assisted in finding new books and then was shown where to find more in the used section. So many choices, so many many subjects! More sales coming up and clearance shelves in the future. They also have children's books, puzzles for all ages and even puzzles designed for folks dealing with dementia. On this day it was a buy 2 used books, get the third one free. I finally told myself no. I had 2 big bags of books and already planning on some for my next visit! You all need to visit the Book Shoppe.

The Book Shoppe has so many items. There literally is something for all ages!! Definitely a great place to go to find gifts or a little something for your self.

A good place to explore for various titles, as well as find books and puzzles for children. There are a lot of used paperbacks, which take up the bulk of the shop's floor. There weren't many books in a couple of my favorite genres, but others may find more in theirs. I purchased a couple of used titles, which were priced the same or better than you'd find on Amazon.

Awesome book store. We walked in, and I had a special request for a book I was looking at for. Clerk got up after checking inventory on computer and walked to the section but alas they didn't have my book in hardcover. Excellent personal service!

Friendly staff. Pet friendly store. Will accept lightly used books for store credit at great rates! I drive from Des Moines to get here! My daughters always find books that they want here & there is an age gap between the two of them. I'm a bibliophile so I never have a problem. She is more than happy to order any book I'm looking for if she doesn't already have it in stock.

This bookshop is a hidden gem in the heart of Boone's historic downtown. The variety of new and gently used books gives you many options. During town events the shop hosts amazing sales and has great prices year round. I also love the two cats that help the owner in the shop!

A visit to the Book Shoppe in Boone is very similar to entering a time machine, especially if you recall the sheer joy of browsing in an independent book shop years ago.Aside from an incomparable greeting from the store's twin feline owners, a pleasant surprise in the form of a phenomenal selection of new and previously owned literary editions of all sorts await visitors as they enter this book store.Fear not my friends, there is a wonderful guide available to assist you in your search for whatever your literary needs may be. Her name is Susan and aside from catering to the needs of the two incredible cats, she manages to know where everything is that you may be interested in exploring...within her shop that is.I highly recommend this fine establishment, but only if you have the time to really experience and enjoy what has become unique in small town America.

I was thrilled we had a local book store in town but despite being repeat customers, I will not be returning to The Book Shoppe again. We had an incident where my 4 year old daughter may (or may not) have damaged the plastic on a Melissa and Doug latch board. My daughter claims it was already cracked open and she just moved the latch but she's 4, so who knows. She was looking there as I asked questions about some other items. When the owner noticed the plastic was broken over one of the latches of this board, she tried to guilt me into buying it since it "wouldn't sell now". The toy itself was not damaged or it would be a different story. I said it wasn't in our budget and the owner was not at all happy. We felt this was a kid friendly shop and that toys that are at eye level for kids were okay to be touched. I left absolutely mortified and my daughter was crying by the time we got to the car, so she obviously felt the same. I guess we'll be going out of town to find another bookstore next time.

They always have a nice selection of previously read books available. The prices are very reasonable. They are very helpful when suggestions books and authors. They always greet you when you walk in the door. My favorite store in town. I only wish I could shop more often.

This is the perfect spot to talk books with someone who loves them. You can find used books, cards and even new gifts. Everything is thoughtfully curated by the excellent local business owner. Definitely worth the stop.

This is probably the best location for scifi/fantasy books in the area. Many of the books are in good shape with unbroken spines YAY. Also, the owner donates advanced reading copies ARCs to the local library in Boone for people to pick up. Well known in the community. Easy to get too. Be warned, if you are allergic to cats, she has two long hairs.
