Outstanding meat, but I don't like being watched over during self checkout. Everbody isn't a thief jeesh. Also, a lot of people like bringing their carts to their cars themselves. Definitely need a bakery department. Just go there for their meat department and carry your own stuff out!

It was awesome! I had called the Boone, IA store to order some meat to take to Mi for my daughter who just found out she has Breast Cancer. When we arrived at the store the next morning the guy at the meat counter I had been talking to, had paid for the order himself. Ian Omvig went above and beyond! A special ❤ felt Thank you!

Great prices, great service. They load the groceries in your car, and actually have real people in the meat dept to help you. Also a pretty good place to work. Recomend over all other choices in and around Iowa.

Arrived at 0605 am and didn't get a door until 0830, 30 minutes after appointment and didn't get unloaded until 1045.. they are extremely slow.. don't go early, the earliest to arrive is 1 hour..

I found this store to be one of the cleanest, neatest grocery stores I have ever visited. If you want to know how clean a store is, visit their restroom. Fareway Grocery in Boone is top notch.

Management REFUSES to enforce employee MASK policy. Claims 90% of his employees have "medical waivers." Store manager is rude and talks down to customers. He is not helpful, does not manage his employees and treats customers like they are an inconvenience to him.Fareway used to be my go to grocery store. You would think as a small town owned business they would take the health and safety of their customers into high regard. Unfortunately, Hyvee, and big box stores like Walmart are better at enforcing employee policy and therefore showing much more concern regarding their customers well being.For a corporate store, being in the town that founded Fareway, you would think you would want to be the shining example of how a Fareway should be run. It isnt and as long as corporate does nothing to change the management, it will remain lower than the one star I have given them.

Boone Fareway is one of the wonderful Fareway stores in my area. All of the stores I visit have the best staffs and management teams. Everyone at Fareway is helpful, smiling and courteous!!

I love Fareway Foods but have become very unhappy with the changes, i.e. Removal of food products thus making room for all the wines.I believe wine shelves should not be completely through out the store in place of foods. There needs to be a separate room for these items or at least place all of them in the same isle in place of all over the store.I am not alone in this thinking. Many other people have expressed this thought as well.HyVee, Walmart, SAMs all have a designated area for wine, beer, and liquor.Fareway needs to take notice.
