Lots of great items available here from toys and gifts to home decor. The bulk food items are some of the best things you can find and they have a wide variety of bulk food products at great prices. The entire store is very clean and organized and easy to walk through. Great place for Christmas shopping or any other time of year.

Seems to be a lot of empty shelves. Not much in the way of candy anymore either. Nor was there much in the way of locally crafted goods. They did have some cool quilts though, but they all came with a pretty hefty price tag too. Too rich for my blood, even "marked down" from $1200 to $800.

Moved my 5 star to a 1 star. I don't know what's going on. But I do not like the current changes. We have been doing day trips to visit here a few times a year. I left with one bag of cookies. And that's because I felt bad for the man working cause my kids were talking about how they didn't want to come here anymore cause all there favorite stuff was now gone. No food. No fun drinks. No candy. Just a old lady home decor store now.

So sad to see this once beautiful store going what looks like out of business. Every time we stop by something else has been removed. This time there were no coolers. The cashier said they had new ones ordered but I highly doubt it. The only food they had was some baked bread. They had lots of toys and games down where all the food use to be. I truly hope they can save the store but each time we stop that looks less and less likely.

I used to love this store. Was one of my favorite stores ever until whoever took over and destroyed the very thing customers loved about the store. I have visited Dutch County General Store for close to 15 years and now, myself and many others will probably no longer return. What happened to this beloved place?

I placed an order on December 5, 2023 for a pair of glider rockers. Of course my credit card was immediately billed and the site said I would receive them in 4 to 6 weeks. I reached out on December 20, 2023 to check on the status of my order and was told that it had not shipped yet. Reached back out on January 26, 2024 and was told it should ship out in two weeks. I said if I hadn't received it I would follow up again in three weeks. I have been calling and sending emails and chat messages everyday since February 19, 2024 and they have yet to reply to an email, respond to a chat or send a text. I have left voice messages with no return call and now their voicemail is full and not accepting messages. As of right now I am out of $1,042.57. These people are a fraud.

Awesome store that caters not only to tourists, but to locals as well. Huge selection of old time candies & toys, natural wares such as beeswax candles and soaps & a wide variety of spices! Place offers fresh foods like cheese & meats, homemade chocolates & even soft serve ice cream is available.Back wall of ground level has several different sodas to choose from such as ranch & bacon flavored. Our daughter played it safe with strawberry shortcake soda.Huge store with ground level and upstairs packed full of wares. Prices vary, but several items were very reasonable priced. Plenty of parking.Definitely worth a visit.

We love to stop by and walk around! Tons of candy, toys (lots of Melissa & Doug!), house decorations, baking mixes, local goods (cheese curds, honey, dips, mixes, etc) and store made sweets! Always grab a free snack to go before you leave - popcorn, ice cream cone, samples!

We thought it was a grocery store. It's so much more. It has a deli with wonderful chocolates too. Unusual toys everywhere and puzzles Handmade baskets and bulk candy bins. The best part to me was the hand stitched quilts.

Go to the deli first and order a 6" sub for $5. Delicious. Get your deli meat and cheese order going then shop. They have the BEST selection of Melissa and Doug toys. A kind lady helped me carry my bags to my car.

I used to love this store. Just within the last couple of weeks, we have noticed big changes. Deli is closed, very low on all the products, and even the workers were different. Not an amish person in sight. I think they have new owners

A combination bulk goods store and tourist trap, it was still a fun visit. The sandwiches were good, and of course, the free ice cream was great! The staff were friendly, and very helpful, which was a plus. The shelves were a bit picked over, but it was a busy weekend, from what we saw.

The reason the reviews show at a 4.5 rating is because the reviews are for the Dutch Country store and not for the Amish Made Poly (Forever Amish Poly). I encourage anyone looking to order online for the patio furniture, to just either buy what they have at the store or GO FIND IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. I ordered a set in April, still haven't received it nor a refund. Customer service will ghost you or never follow up. So again my advice, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Huge selection of toys. In fact, most of the top level was toys! Tons of furniture from wood to hard plastic. Lots of food and spices. Pretty much something for everyone here! Don't forget your free I've cream cone.

Unfortunately, this store is highly overrated.There was a very large number of items out of stock, with signs asking the customers to be patient while they get restoked by vendors and suppliers. There were many shelves and refrigerators that were also empty. No ice cream cones, one flavor of free ice cream, and the soda tea and drink machines were out of order.After all the hype and reviws of this place, we were sadly disappointed. We live in Altoona and drove over 100 miles to visit. This store was not worth it.There are so many places to visit in Iowa that are more worth visiting!We were also charged cheese curds that we did not buy. We didn't find out about the charge until we got home, shame on us! Check your receipt before you leave.

Passing by and I couldn't resist stopping. They had a wonderful selection of unique toys and candy. I enjoyed a FRESH Sandwich from the deli that was very reasonably priced. I will definitely return.

Prices are mostly higher here than anywhere else, but I stop by every time I come through to get free popcorn and ice cream with cone. I always glance over everything because sometimes they have something I feel like I gotta have. For example, they have a deli, homemade candy, and bottled pop like "Pops 66 in Oklahoma and they are the same price, $1.99 a bottle, I know high, but same price. My husband loves that nasty liver cheese. They have it. It's $4 higher here, but if I'm passing through, sometimes I get it for him. If prices were more reasonable, I'd give this place 5 stars.
