We have always felt confident leaving our dog in their care. The facility is always clean. The staff is great and really loves the dogs. We've even run into employees out and about and they recognize and remember our dog's name. Great place.

Absolutely loved my experience with this place! The ladies I spoke with were both very nice and although my dogs didn't stay for the whole reservation (canceled flights are a pain) I know they were in good hands. Definitely found the perfect place for my dogs!

The staff members are very friendly and very good with both of my large dogs. Facilities are clean and set up nice for the dogs to get exercise as well as be comfortable. Will definitely continue to use them even though other places closer to me are more economical.

I used to take my dogs here when they were downtown Bettendorf. Going to start aggression training with my one dog soon. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I'm hoping for good results.UPDATE: I give five stars to the boarding end of the business but give two stars to the training side. I had more appointments canceled at the list minute then I did training sessions. We needed help with our dog for aggression issues but received very little.

I am aspiring to be a dog trainer, and have been training my own dog and have been seeking apprenticeships in dog training. Today I went into AHSD to observe one of their puppy classes and speak to the trainers and what can i say...What an amazing group of people! I struggle with social anxiety a lot, but all of them were so welcoming and made my husband and I feel right at home.Its quite clear to see their passion for educating people and their pets, and they were so willing to teach me and my puppy.The davenport facility we went to was so nice! I will 100% be not only reaching back out for my apprenticeship hours through AHSD - but to also just bring my own puppy there because I actually TRUST them with Chucho.I highly recommend AHSD.Great people, amazing passion and wonderful doggos <3PS. Jana and her entire staff are ANGELS, treat them well or i'll be sad.

We took our Bernadoodle for his first grooming. They asked if we wanted a puppy cut that’s just a wash, trimming the feet, and nails. I asked them to do that and trim the rest of his hair “just a little bit to keep the puffball but reduce the matting.” Instead, they cut his hair short everywhere. They sent me back a dog that looks nothing like what I gave them or what I asked for. Will not be going back. Pictures below are what he looked like before the cut and after.

Our experience with Almost Home to this point has been taking our new pup, Rosie, to Puppy Play Time. All the staff are extremely caring and seem to have fun with the pups. The staff chats with the us about the time spent and how the pup has adjusted to it. We are also utilizing Jana and Dakota for home training with Rosie. They want the pup to succeed and magically it happens and we go forward. Could not be happier!!

Wish this place would expand! So wonderful and popular that sometimes it's hard to book for boarding.. That's probably a great problem! Highly recommend the facility and the staff!!!(if I didn't feel confident in their care, I wouldn't trust leaving our furbabies in their care!)

My puppy is 7 months. The in home dog training lessons with Jana have been spectacular! Saturday puppy socialization was terrific and our puppy loves to go to the day camp where the staff is just magnificent. I’m looking forward to their terrific care, boarding and grooming for many years to come.

I can’t speak highly enough of the owners and staff at Almost home boarding and grooming. I have two pups and both have been groomed multiple times. I am always pleased with the results.I have also utilized Almost home boarding and grooming for daycare. My puppy was so nervous around other dogs . The staff was patient, knowledgeable, and took the time needed to acclimate my pup to the new environment.The owners and staff are fantastic!

we had our dog trained here for 2 weeks and when he came back to us he was SUCH a good dog! the trainer brought him to our home and showed us everything she trained him on (things we asked him to be trained on as well) and he’s the best doggo now! even gave us a leash they use at the kennel (very nice leash, nothing fancy but a convenient leash) and also a baby mattress they used to let him know that’s where he goes when we need him to stay. the best trainers we’ve had!! 10/10 recommend!

My dog loves them more then me 😁. They take such good care of him while we are gone. He always is so handsome after getting groomed here too. We found them when our pup was just 8wks and started training. The staff treats him like he is theirs, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Puppy Hour is so Awesome! My Rottie is getting socialized and learning how to play with other dogs.Training with Dakota has been awesome also. He listens to our concerns and helps us to train our Rottie to be a house dog, not a show dog.I highly recommend Almost Home Speak Dog!!

I took my five month old cocker spaniel puppy here for his first grooming session. I told Sabrina, the groomer, to shave his sanitary area, cut his toenails and clean out the hair between his toes. And for the rest of his hair, I told her just to even him up. He was a shaggy puppy with curls everywhere. I just wanted his hair trimmed. I wanted to keep his adorable curls! I even told her if he was scared or being naughty, since this was his first time, to just try to get his feet done because snow would get stuck in the long hair around his pads. I was totally shocked when I picked him up! She shaved his entire body!! His hair was 1/2 inch everywhere! Even his legs! Any groomer should know that cocker spaniels are known for their long leg hair. My adorable, fluffy, puppy was now bald! And it’s was January in iowa! I cried when I left the groomers. I was so sick about this for days. I was embarrassed for anyone to even see him. Poor Stanley! I really do not know where the confusion was. And if there were some sort of misunderstanding, why didn’t she call me to verify or ask? I’m very disappointed in this groomer and definitely never going back!!!

We have used Almost Home grooming and boarding for many years! The staff is so loving to our pets! We are regulars on the grooming schedule and when we do go out of town and have to board our pups, we know they are in great hands! The facility is always very clean and well kept, which to us is very important. Thank you to the staff for the great care over the years, we look forward to many more!

I really wanted to like this facility as it has such good reviews, but unfortunately my dogs and I did not have a great experience. My husband and I went on vacation last week and brought our 2 dogs to this boarding facility for the duration (9 nights total). We picked them both up yesterday morning and the staff told me that they did really well, there was an accident or two the first day and that they weren’t eating like normal but after a couple of days, they got back into their routine. My Australian Shepherd has long hair and he had poo all down his long hairs on his backside. My cocker spaniel reeked of urine and her bottom half was stained yellow with pee. I can’t help but wonder if they sat like that covered in their mess for 9 days if they had the accident on the first day. We took them home and had to bathe them, and in doing so found fleas. They’re both on a flea preventive, so I’m hoping the problem doesn’t get worse, but I’m wondering how they got the fleas if all dogs there are supposed to be treated prior to staying? All in all, I don’t feel comfortable taking them back there. We usually take them to Posh Pet Resorts for long stays and have never had issues there, but we were recommended to this place by a friend. I will be taking them back to Posh.

We feel at ease when our dog is here, which is very important for any pet owner. The staff ensures that pets are well taken care of, and always return phone calls to provide updates to make you feel comfortable knowing your fur person is well attended to. Staff is meticulous about shot records, so that is of course a bonus. Every time I've walked my dog back to the kennel to say goodbye, the kennels were always clean! My only wish would be to extend the hours! With that being the only wish (to change) in mind, Almost Home still gets 5 stars from us!

I just used all most home for the first time to board my dog over thanksgiving. I was very very happy about the whole thing. I get very anxious about leaving my dog but these people were so friendly and so reassuring. The facility is clean and the dogs have lots of room. They even gave my Oliver a pillow and cheese sprinkles on his food because I joked that he gets that at home. I will recommend them to anyone looking for a boarding facility.

First and foremost! Very hard decision to leave my dog, since I am with my dog 24/7 (Not kidding at ALL). He also has separation anxiety, and has destroyed my house before when left alone. But the young ladies at Almost Home made me feel more secure and comfortable about leaving him there! They are very friendly and easy to speak with. (I have bad social anxiety as well). Will definitely use them again! And will recommend 100%!

Had our dogs groomed there. They were well taken care of and their cuts looked good. Just seemed to take a bit longer then most other groomers weve used in the past. Still a good place to get your dogs needs taken care of.
