Very good options for a small town. However, I have dietary restrictions that are not considered in the overall store. It makes this a good stop for certain essentials but is limited to impossible shopping for those with lactose-free, gluten-free, or low fodmap issues.

We needed some essentials for the evening and google directed us to Benders. It was if we had stepped back in time because the prices were half of what we were accustomed to paying. The store itself is neat and well organized. Imagine our surprise when we stumbled upon a well endowed wine cellar with pricing correctly proportioned with the rest of the store. I am impressed and very pleased, accordingly I definitely recommend Benders!

The cashiers are always friendly to me and the selection is great and the building is very well kept. I sometimes get one of the good bakery deals on stuff that expires soon. I came up a little but short one time and the cashier pitched in and that made me feel like the staff really cares about their customers.

Benders Foods has a very good selection for the size of the building and community it services. The prices are reasonable for a small town grocer store and when I combine sale items with my other grocery needs, the coupons I get on their website, as well as the price of gas to run some place else, it all averages out. Some say prices are high but comparable to what. I have been taught to compare apples to apples. Some items do get outdated. I have experienced that at every grocery store I have shopped at. From my own personal experience, I have been surprised with some fresh items spoiling overnight. I have been shopping there for 30 years and It has only happened to me once with meat and once with produce and both times I brought it to their attention. There were some items I was regularly purchasing at a store 35 miles away and Bender's Foods was very accommodating to stock that item for me, and they continue to do so. I know shelf space and refrigerators cost money so I very much appreciated the kind gesture. I like having a place nearby where I can buy grocery and health needs so I don't have to have the wear on my car, risk of an accident with traffic, or expense of fuel.

So glad to have a competent local grocer in our community. Last weekend, they sponsored the outdoor brat stand as a fund raiser for local organizations. Each weekend all summer long, the community supports them, enjoying hamburgers, bratwurst, pork tenderloin or ribeye steak sandwichs.

Small store but they have what you need. Funky smell when you walk thru the door.They aren't too worried about covid, employees had masks, but should probably review how to properly wear them. Customers aren't required to wear masks either.But if you are a customer that wears a mask they all stare at you in disbelief that you would actually protect others during the pandemic.

Wonderful small town grocery store with a wonderful deli that makes chicken, cold salads, etc. We love the chicken strips & mashed potatoes from Bender's! This is our go-to place to visit to gather snacks when we visit the Sabula & Bellevue area on vacation!

I love vendors because it's a family home town place and they're great people that are running it and I loved working there cus of the,people and mostly jerry in the meat department it's just a place with good food a good place to work.

I was recently at a Cook in my Kitchen session with Wellness by Paulette. All of her produce was purchased at Bender's in Bellevue Iowa and it was wonderful! The Napa cabbage was especially noteworthy. I have never seen such nice cabbage. I often shy away from it because it usually looks bad where I live. But this cabbage was perfect, without any brown or wilted edges. I commend the produce department at Bender's because everything was great, and in late October in Iowa that is sometimes difficult.

It's nice to have a grocery store in town, but would love for an updated and more reasonable priced store. Very happy with the recent changes to bring in more healthy options, that has been a great improvement.

Love Bellevue's only grocery store! You can always find what you need here,and lots of what you want!they make the best cakes here!used to get a filled cake for dance team get togethers! Boston cream cakes are to die for!!the frosting is wonderful,whipped cream,just the right sweetness,Yum! like I could never duplicate ,lolo.

Bender's provides a variety of necessary items for cooking or food preparation while also selling household or school items like ziploc bags, pens, scissors, etc. They also serve deli meats and pretty good fried chicken.

Food is regularly expired, moldy or does within a day of getting it. A lot of items from the freezer section have obviously been thawed and refrozen.I only purchase items for immediate use and always check dates. Only option in town.
