The food is GREAT and the room is spacious (no crowded seating), the deck is a wonderful place to kick back and the view is wonderful! Servers need to pay more attention to the customers after the food is delivered and ask if they want anything else before delivering the bill. Often there are not enough servers. The staff and owners always make you feel welcome and like they appreciate your business. So glad to have this business back!Vegetarian options: Excellent salads!!! Haven't looked for other vegan offerings.

The best pizza EVER! Hand tossed, cooked perfectly, choose your sauce, meat and toppings. The cheese bread, which was also excellent, came with a smooth dipping sauce that we wanted to take home. This is the first time we've seen garlic powder in a shaker on the table. I remembered to take pictures of the appetizer, but was so excited for the pizza I had to take pictures of the one leftover piece at home! Small town small restaurant and the staff were still wonderful, even with the weekend onslaught! WELL worth the money and the time!!

Great experience all around... walk in and your hit by incredible smells from the kitchen! Professional friendly service, clean comfortable environment. And the food... wow. Can't wait to go back and try the pasta. Our pizza was great. We recommend the frikdeller (Danish type of 'meatball'). Desserts were good too! Only complaint was that the dinning area was chilly. Had to leave our jackets on!

We had a delicious frikadeller (Danish meatball) pizza and a great garden salad. The garlic bread that came with the salad was also quite good.Pie available but we didn't try it. We did take a liaf of Danish Rye to go. While it's nit like the black bread we equate with Danish Rye, it's a good dense bread.

If you don't even believe there's a God then skip past this review because I am not kidding when I say my experience was a religious one.I had passed on some alfredo the night before because they served it over penne pasta and I was craving the real thing. I trust it was God's omniscience and deep love for His kids that guided us the very next day to Elk Horn, IA where they know pasta at The Flour Mill.We honestly had no intention of stopping on our long drive home from South Dakota, heading to SE Iowa when we came to the exit. "Something" told us to take that exit and drive 5 miles AWAY from home to this little town. Old John Jensen was in the windmill gift store and told us the "restaurant at the top of the hill" was open on Sundays, and the rest is history. Never have I ever had such a wonderful plate of alfredo. The service was great, too. We can't wait to come back.

Really, really, really good pizza! I would drive 30 miles just to eat here if I had to. It's just that good. The large is really large.

If you're in the area you can't miss the opportunity to visit this place. Their customer service is great and so is the food. I like a white sauce pizza (because you can) with chicken, bacon, olives, yum. You can order one custom or pick from a reasonable sized menu of other sandwiches and salads. My wife almost always gets a Caeser salad on the side because "it's better here than anywhere else we've tried". Small seating area, but mostly booths still along the walls which is nice.

We made a detour into Elk Horn to visit the Danish Museum. We were hungry so stopped at The Flour Mill for lunch. What a delightfully tasty treat that was! We had pizza that was the best we’ve ever had. We also had some dessert to go. Mint chocolate chip cake and key lime pie both made from scratch by his wife. Oh my word was it delicious. The owner waited on us and told us about his little place. He was very friendly and most accommodating. Refilled our drinks and provided drinks to go for us. If we ever get back this way we will be sure to stop again. Thank you for a great lunch!

This place has the BEST pizza! Tough to choose between white or red sauce. The homemade raviolis and pies are crazy delicious! They also carry Danish beers and meats if you're looking for that. Have you ever tried Frikadeller meatballs on a pizza? You should!

Unexpectedly stopped in Elk Horn for a Sunday lunch. The Flour Mill was the only restaurant open, I am so glad they were! The food was amazing! We ordered a pizza, spaghetti and appetizer ravioli. Everything tasted great. The owner/operator was very friendly and fun to talk too. All his sauces and pizza crusts are made from scratch! They also offer wine from a local vineyard.

We have stopped here every time we are in this part of Iowa. Good food at reasonable prices. Vegetarian options, gluten-free pizza crust is an option. Beer was not overpriced, and they have the Danish beer Carlsburg.

The Flour Mill is great when you want pizza with flavor. If you are passing by on I-80 or live in the area this should be a regular stop. They not only serve hand made pizza but local wine and nearly local beers. I like to call ahead and order. The Frikadeller is a special treat and something you can't find at just any pizza place.

One of the best restaraunts you will ever find. Best pizza, and my favorite is their chicken alfredo! They have local wines from the nearby Danish Winery to enjoy with your meal too.

Service is always awesome and it has a cozy small restaurant feel. Best thin crust pizza around. The salads are always fresh, my favorite is the Greek salad.

If you are looking for an above average restaurant the flour mill is for you. Big menu with lots of options. You can tell they have put a lot of time and effort into the recipes. Veggie options and good beer available.

The pizza and pasta are all great! The dessert was not what I expected , dried out... looked delish and moist but was not. I was there for lunch. In general, I love this place.

Service with a smile and very attentive to our beverages while we waited for our made from scratch food. Glad we listened to the locals at the gas station down the street. Worth your time and money.

Awesome gem of gastronomic delight! Best Italian I've found outside of the North End of Boston! Pasta primevera in the house white sauce was over the moon good! Great value!

Elk Horn is a small town. I was there for two days only and to find the restaurant with such a level of service was my luck. The food is just awesome. I suggest to everyone who would stop here to go right to the Flour Mill

These folks took GREAT care of us with wonderful food and service, even when their pizza oven was down! We had a family reunion going on and they served 18 of us last Saturday evening.
