I'm glad I found this place. It's nothing fancy, but what do you expect for under $60? Check-in was hassle free. The room is spacious and well equipped. Everything works, even if it shows its age. The location is far enough away from the freeway that you can't hear it. The main row of rooms are west facing, so if the weather cooperates you'll get evening sun through the windows. There's even a charcoal grill next to the parking lot, although it seems to have lost an argument with a car. It looks intact enough to be usable though.I'd stay here again over the chain places nearby.

The rooms were dirty, outdated and in need of repair. The tub had hair in it so we didn't use the shower at all. The matresses and bedding were old, dirty and blood stained. There was a large tear right in the middle of the carpet. Not worth the money at all and this place really needs to be inspected to be open at all. This was a stop on our way home we that found on Expedia. Now I know to be more careful with their listings.

Nice clean well maintained rooms and property. Everything looks in order. Clean, clean, clean. Fresh paint on the walls and ceiling in our room. Fresh paint outside on the overhang/porch. We were going to stay in Omaha but all of the reviews on the top hotel websites said very poor things about the rooms in Omaha. So we pressed on and found this little Gem. Bathroom was sparkly clean. This hotels exhibits the owners love and pride for their family run business. Casey's convenience store right next door so you can get your pizza, chips, sodas, gasoline and other traveling supplies easily.

Room felt old and dirty. There was a bunch of trash under the beds. The bathroom had no towels. Shower drained was completely clogged and filled with dirty water. There was a large red stain next to the bathroom sink.

Stayed in this motel last night, the guy put me in room 137 well I go in the room. Is trashed, tools every where, trash, beds not made, black mould on the curtain which you can see from outside the window, insulation all over the bathroom floor as well as black mould all through the room. Went back to the office and they put me in room 136. Room Was cleaner went to take a shower there was public hair all in the shower, a washcloth wrapped around the shower head, black mould on the wall and the water came out brown. So I did not shower. This place needs to be shut down.

Pros: good location, bed was comfortable, motel = easy access to room. Cons: biggest one was that there was hair in the shower drain. Then when I turned on the shower it immediately backed up. No shower for me. There was also hair on the sheets and white mold on the office chair. Some sheets were white, some yellow, pillows were flat, some cosmetic things. Overall was hoping for much better based on ratings and reviews. Would rate it two stars, but price was reasonable.

I wish there were more motels like this one. It's the old-fashioned style where you get to park right in front of your room, but the rooms have been updated. My room was spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable. The A/C worked fine and wasn't overly loud (nor was the neighborhood). The front desk clerk was friendly. Even had a mini-fridge and microwave. All this for around $60. I called and made my reservation over the phone. Those online reservation systems take like 15-20% of the room price, which is why motels have gotten expensive.

We stayed last night and also 3 years ago and were not disappointed! It is a clean and quiet room for $58.24 including taxes for the 2 of us.The shower head could be changed. The water pressure is too strong for the head.They have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The air conditioner worked very well for hot evening.

super sweet staff. we called at 11:30 at night asking for a place last second, because we were out of gas and the gas stations were all closed in the area, and the lady at the front desk got us a room immediately. as two young adult females traveling in unknown territory at night, it was reassuring being placed in the room closest to the front desk. overall, pretty good experience for a motel!

Good location, nice and comfortable rooms. All very clean. A/C on when we arrived on a very hot night (that was a +). Free coffee in room, microwave, fridge, towels, tv, ... all clean and working well. Only the hair dryer wasn’t working well (but it was too hot outside to use it). The owners are very friendly and nice. Prices are good too. We took the right decision by staying here. It’s perfect to spend the night and get good rest.

I thought I was in a Marriot, but I didn't pay as much. Not sure if all the rooms were as nice as mine, but this place is VERY nice for the money. The kid that checked me in was very cool. I've stayed there 3x on the way from Peoria IL to mountains out west.

We seek out smaller family owned motels versus bigger chain hotels whenever possible. Found this little gem at the recommendation of another local business across the street. I knew as soon as I entered the lobby that this would be a great spot for the night. Everything in the place (including the chandelier) was squeaky clean... it was a SUPER value! We were greeted warmly by the owner's son, who checked us in with friendly professionalism. Later, we had a chance to chat with Digna (sp?) the owner, as she was making sure we had fresh towels. It was obvious that this family takes such pride in this property... we couldn't help to be impressed with their work ethic. This property was not "fancy" or "new" but the rooms were comfy and immaculate, the parking was ample, and there was plenty of green space with picnic table and grill for guests to enjoy. . Two convenience/gas stations nearby, the Embers restaurant (another gem) was less than a mile up the road., the location had everything we needed after a long day of fighting wind on the highway! Highly recommend!

This hotel is gorgeous, quaint and peaceful. Owner is a spectacular gentleman, and very informative. Room was actually spacious, though tub and toilet are in a small room. It didn't detract from taking a wonderful hot bath. Best sleep in weeks, for us, as hubby is a truck driver. Cable TV allowed us to watch great shows. Coffee in room is awesome. Beds were so comfy. Please, do book here when in Avoca, you won't be disappointed!!! Though they don't have breakfast, there are other places to go, nearby. Loved it!!!!

The tub floor was dirty and there were spiders on the ceiling. The fixture for the fan on the ceiling isn't attached properly and rattles whenever the light is turned on. The shower was so bad I washed my hair in the faucet instead. The refrigerator did not work and only leaked water onto anything put inside of it. It also made a high pitched whine the entire night and the door doesn't close all the way. We were given two double beds despite reserving a king. At least two of the lamps did not work either because bulbs are burned out or are missing entirely. The walls are run down. The faucet leaks and has almost no water pressure. There is one mini trash in the entire hotel. The wireless internet didn't connect. Beds are hard. My girlfriend and I had the worst sleeps in our lives here, on a cross country road trip. We have been to many hotels over the years and would rank this as one of, if not the, worst. Other bad motels we've stayed at had the decency of being cheap rat holes. This place was $70 in a tiny town in Iowa. I have stayed at $35 hotels that are three times better. So what did I like? It has a working toilet - but that's certainly not enough to flush away all the shitty things about this place.So no, I would not recommend staying here. Other reviews that say the staff is friendly and rooms are clean are absolutely perplexing to me and reason I chose this overpriced dirty motel. The staff was not unfriendly, but the rooms are terrible. That's why I'm writing this review. Avoid it.

So far so good. I am in room 112. It is clean. The a/c works well. The flat screen TV is great. The room has a mini fridge and microwave. I also like that the hotel is pet friendly. What more could you ask for 50 bucks?

I would rate this a five if the TV would have stayed on. It would shut off randomly; sometimes it would be on for 20 minutes, and sometimes only 2 minutes. I called the office and he came and rebooted it, but it still did it. Otherwise the room was clean, recently remodeled, and very adorable. The manager was way cool, very good rates for how nice the rooms are! I will go back, and hopefully the TV problem is fixed. It may have been due the the heavy rain that night, I do hope.

Delightful, quiet, old fashioned motel with modern amenities. Clean sheets, new towels, good selection of television channels. Local parks with walking trails thru town. Airport north of town with an old fighter jet on display. Heat worked amazing for a chilly spring evening. I had a fridge, microwave and coffee pot in my room. The bathroom was small, but the bed was huge. Breakfast wasn't served, but there is a Casey's next door.

Absolutely a great place to stay. Rooms r very clean absolutely big nice rooms. I've stayed a couple times here an moat definitely will again. I'm a pilot driver for oversize semis and I am through here quite a bit so I will be staying here many times the people are absolutely wonderful very nice and polite if I have to give it any stars I definitely give it 5....

Riding motorcycle across country and needed a place to say. Found Capri on google maps. Affordable, clean, close to interstate 80, and professional staff. Jay at the front desk was helpful and courteous. A great value.

This motel is so close to 3 or 4 stars with just a few simple fixes. Starting with check in. Could be a lot more friendlier and informative, like handing out the Wi-Fi password.The room was nice and large, great business desk and a separate table and chairs. Nice TV, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker.Bathroom. The bathtub/shower would be just fine with a new shower head and a stopper for the bathtub so you can actually take a bath.Better check in and a couple small things with the bathtub/shower and this definitely 3 stars. Maybe even 4.

Clean and comfortable, surprisingly large rooms for the price. Older strip style motel with plenty of parking in front of each room. Rooms look to be recently updated and have the expected amenities including mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot and HDTV.
