The guy that helped us today was very friendly and extremely helpful! He explained to us the different types of fish and which ones would be the best for our tank. I needed a lid for my fish tank and he went and looked for one for us and found one and it works perfectly! I’m glad I found this place! We will definitely be back!

So glad I found this SW Iowa gem-no need to travel to Omaha anymore. Brought home 12 new fish and all are doing great. They are happy and healthy! Just remember its a cash only transaction business.

Beautiful fish, over priced though. I'm for supporting local businesses, but his prices make it to hard for me. Plus it's a hour away from me and I get to other big cities for other business so I can hit the big name pet stores when I'm already in their location

Just got my 1st ever cockatiel from Rick and Co. Everyone was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are very reasonable. All of the birds were very friendly and able to be handled. Reptile cages were clean and all animals were active and healthy.

I love Rick down at our little Local Fish Store! This is a great establishment for your every pet need. An establishment that's been open for decades and I personally hope to see open for decades more! The owner is so vastly knowledgeable in ALL types of not only fish but other critters its astounding! Stop in and check this place out!!!! Fun, friendly, and great for kids as well!

Stopped in to see about getting some food for our pet. The woman was kind however the location is in sad shape. Bird cages are extremely dirty and the birds them selves do not look to be in the best shape they could be in. Tons of fish and some nice large tanks. However everything looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Many of the animals where sitting in tanks that the glass was covered in a nasty mess. I was very shocked to hear the price of some of the animals as well. Considering thier ages and condition. Honestly the place looks like at one point it was a nice place. However that's not the case now.

I have gotten all my pet foods from the Fish Store for nearly 30 years, Rick has always been very informative as to the nutritional needs of my cats, dogs, and my bird. I won't go anywhere else.

Best Fish Store around. Rick has been in buinesss for many years and is an expert on tropical fish.He also had an excellent selection of birds, Guinea pigs, rabbits, other small mammals and reptiles including chameleons!

Excellent experience. Large selection of fish and the owner knew everything about them. Recommended fish due to their durability and got everything we needed to start with some fish. Even stayed open late to finish up explaining everything I needed to know. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Personal ownership for around 3 decades, he knows more about fish than anyone else I've ever known, bred birds in the early days and is one of few who knows as much about birds as my mother who bred birds when I was a child, and one of the most interesting buildings I've ever explored, once being a speakeasy during prohibition among other things, although that's not open for the public.

Great selection of freshwater fish and has various aquarium sizes that can come with stands. Folks have great knowledge of the fish as and know great tankmates with each fish. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to start an aquarium.

They are always so helpful. He knows his fish & ways to take care of them. He does have some reptiles & there food(live crickets, etc). Also has birds & usually small animals & all there food.
