Came in needing to clean up a mess very late into the night. Every other place was closed but this was our saving grace. Employees worked as a team to find the correct cleaning supplies we needed and made us feel very welcome there. Has a huge selection of items compared to other Walgreens. Plus even though it was not my ID, I still want to recognize a team member was making an active effort to return misplaced items to customers. Checking to see if we matched the card.

My 5 stars go directly to Bradley the cashier! My daughter did not have enough money today to buy both her toys I told her she had to chose and with out any hesitation Bradley tells her he is going to buy the other toy so she could have both. He has been super friendly everytime we have come in to the store. Walgreens give this guy a high five and a rise!

I have used this pharmacy since 2016 and it has been going down hill since 2022 ! The techs and pharmacist are some of the most disgusting and disrespectful people ever! I would never recommend this place to anyone ! Their attitudes are so harsh for no reason it’s so sad how they treat their customers ! They should be ashamed of their behavior ! They talk so loud about other customers that us other customers can here them and I watched as one tech hung up on a customer because he didn’t wanna deal with her and they laughed about it and it was disgusting ! I would not recommend you go there .

I’ve never had a pharmacy completely lose a prescription before — until today. Despite receiving a text that it was delayed due to being out of stock (and they were ordering more), seeing that it was cancelled on my account, and confirmation from my doctor that it was sent over, they had no record of it in their system. While my doctor was willing to send it again, the fact that it was lost at all is highly concerning, considering that records clearly exist showing that it existed.I don’t like leaving bad reviews unless something is exceptionally wrong. Mistakes happen, I get it. But bad record keeping for something as important and controlled as pharmaceuticals could cost someone a lot more than a minor inconvenience.

Richard hung up on me during my interaction with him. He continually interrupted me and when I asked to speak and explain what I was trying to tell him. He hung up on me! So I professional. No wonder Walgreens is rated the worse pharmacy in Ankeny

Drive thru pharmacy employee was super short/rude with me and decidedly unhelpful when there was an issue with my daughter's prescription. I pointed out her rudeness and she seemed incapable of taking responsibility for her words and voice tone.I used to use this Walgreens for a little over 20 years and was happy with the service. The last couple years have seen the service drop off precipitously. I have taken my business elsewhere except for when I can't get certain prescriptions anywhere else. Today's experience just reinforced why I made that decision.

Yesterday I had a prescription sent to this location and I was told it would be ready after 8pm. When my wife went there after 8pm the pharmacy was closed since 6pm. So this morning i went myself to pick up this medication and the pharmacy's drive thru was not working and there was a 10 people line inside the store. The staff working at that time was very friendly, but, overall, very disappointed with this pharmacy.

Inside pharmacy window is closed so only option is drive through; have been waiting for 20 minutes. The he line is backed up and moving really slow. I so regret choosing Walgreens.

A 7 year old girl went without her ADHD medication for one day because Walgreens said they were out of stock. After waiting on hold for over an hour, I went directly to the pharmacy to be told that they DID have the prescription, it was just a partial refill. A little girl went through withdrawals and had a couple of miserable days because Walgreens incorrectly informed a script was out of stock when it wasn't, and failed to contact us to offer the partial refill. The pharm techs expressed ZERO remorse or empathy, but had plenty of excuses why their suppliers were at fault. Oh, and I checked with CVS and Hy-Vee, THEY were not out of stock!!!

The only reason I use this pharmacy is because they are 24hrs (which I don't even think they are anymore). Every year when I renew my prescription after my yearly appointment, it's a fight to get things back to normal and how it was set up the previous year. This is the fourth consecutive year this has happen. On top of that, today (8/2/22) the person behind the counter got snippy with me. I understand I was frustrated about the situation but this person did not make anything better. This confirmed that if this pharmacy is no longer a 24hr location, I will be changing cause every time it's the same results with the same awful customer service.

I called to see if my prescription was in and they said they had no record of anything despite my doctor having contacted them 3 times that day. It wouldn’t have been such a big deal because I understand mistakes happen if they handled it differently. I was told I was being transferred just for no one to pick up after 10 minutes to talk to a colleague. And then I tried calling back and no one picked up. When I did get through they acted like I inconvenienced them and it was a bother to help me. I finally found out they were out of it and transferred yet to another person who had a nasty tone. Very rude.

It's time to find a new pharmacy. Started using this one because it was 24 hour now it's not. Have to sit in drive thru line for sometimes half hour 45 minute to pick up a prescription. Today drive thru not even open. Line halfway down the aisle and only 1 person to handle the traffic.

Spent 45 mins on the phone in the 1st position in que to be told my medicine was ready. Walked in to be told im not even in the system. Called my doctor and verified they sent everything over. Turns out they didnt have it so they just lied through their teeth to get me in the store. Do your self a favor, dont use this dying business.

Service is out of this world. With the incredible amount of volume and the current lack of staffing everywhere, this Walgreens really knows how to provide top notch customer service. They seemed so stressed but kept similes on their faces and my family always appreciates all of them so much. Pharmacy and store are absolutely phenomenal.

They kept telling my husband that his RX was ready for pickup. He goes to pick it up - they’re out of stock. What? How is it ‘ready for pickup’ but it’s out of stock? He went to get his prescription tonight because they’re supposed to be open until 10 - he got off of work at 8pm. They closed at 8. Can he go to the other Ankeny pharmacy and pick it up? Nope - they closed at 8 too. But hey - he can pick up his diabetic medication tomorrow! UGH!!

Went to pharmacy with new prescription from another pharmacy. Jose rudely told me to move back to the sign(I was well beyond 6 ft behind woman checking out) then placing me at least 10-12 ft behind the person checking out. He then yelled at me, as I thought my address was on the bottle, and after I had apologized for my being incorrect. He then told me it would be 10pm the following night before my prescription would be filled. When I asked if it could be sooner, he yelled at me and said, "Look we are open until 10pm, what is your problem?!"...Finally, when I said my entire visit has been confrontational and I'd come back the following day to deal with someone who appreciates my business, he yelled at me AGAIN, even as I was walking away. He told me I needed to come back and deal with my prescription now, not tomorrow. I went out to my vehicle and contacted store manager. I was told his lack of customer service would be addressed with pharmacy manager. I sure hope so, as this same individual is mentioned in a previous review 2 months ago.

Extremely disappointing when you walk in with a sick kiddo to pick up a prescription to be told they are out of stock for one, and it will be over four hours for another. The only option I had was to call around asking other branches to hope to find the prescription I need. I find that to be unacceptable or helpful.

Store was pretty grungy looking and pharmacy staff were fairly rude. Might have just been a bad day and I hope they get it turned around. CVS down the road was cleaner and had friendly employees.

The store itself seemed okay. Product selection was fine, and they had the specific product I was looking for in the store (I verified online first). The clerk, however, was awful. It was difficult to understand what she was saying because she mostly grunted it. I was scolded for hitting the "No" button on the keypad - twice. The user interface with the credit card swiper is poor. I did not know that would have ended the transaction the first time I hit it. The second time I hit it, I only had the one item, so I figured it didn't matter, but I was given a death glare because I hit it and told I was doing it wrong. The clerk was half asleep throughout the process as well, and clearly showed no signs of being remotely interested in doing her job, let alone making it a pleasant transaction between us. I chose to drop in here rather than wait for Walmart to open, but clearly that was a mistake. I don't anticipate coming back to this location, and likely will think twice about stopping at other locations in the future, due to the interaction with the clerk. Poor experience that barely deserves the 2 star rating I gave it, and that's only because I feel that 1 star ratings are not as believable as 2 star ratings. Timestamp on receipt shows 8/8/2020 6:23 AMI've edited to add that after reading some of the other reviews, I wanted to note that this was not a pharmacy purchase, but a purchase of general merchandise off the shelf. I was the only customer in the store when I stopped in, and the speed of service itself was not bad.

I'm not rating one star because I had to wait awhile. It's inevitable if you're going to a post office or pharmacy, chances are, you'll wait a bit. I'm rating low due to the lack of organization and customer service of the pharmacy. I came into the store to refill in person rather than refill online like I normally do because my insurance changed January 1, so I knew they would have to re-run it if I filled it online. Got my insurance switched over at the drop-off no problem, and asked how long it would take to fill- because if it was going to take awhile, I would return the next day as I had someone in the car waiting for me. I was told 10 minutes. Great. The line was quite long per usual, so I went to the back of the line thinking 10 minutes would be up by the time I got the front. About 8 minutes passed when I got the front and it was not ready. No problem. They told me to have a seat and they would call my name when it was ready. Name was never called. 10 minutes later... 20 minutes later... 30 minutes later.... close to 40 minutes. They simply continually helped the ever steady line. Others were in the same boat as me- their names never called either. Was I supposed to keep getting in the back of the line? Would they have ever called my name if I didn't become vocal after 40 minutes? Plus, had they just told me from the beginning "we're a little busy, it will be at least 30 minutes" I would have left and returned the following day. The kicker of it was- five minutes after I initiated the refill, I received an e-mail from Walgreens on my phone that my prescription was ready to be picked up. It was a solid 30 minutes after that e-mail that it was actually ready for me in person. The whole experience was a huge bummer, as I LOVED the Walgreens pharmacy when I lived in North Liberty. The staff was so friendly and patient. If you were waiting for a refill, a digital board showed your name and the status of your refill- including when it was done and you were not required to go back to the end of the line- they remembered you were waiting longer.

Changed to this store because it was open 24 hours a day. Then they changed to only open until 10pm. Now they are just open when they have staff. Hours keep changing. Went there to get prescription yesterday at 615 and was already closed with sign that said open 10-6 now. There today and pharmacy gates are closed on inside so drive through only and literally 15 cars in line.

I've used this Walgreens for over a decade, and never had a problem. I find the staff friendly, knowledgeable, and caring.There are times it takes awhile to get the prescription filled, when they are swamped, but even the store's general manager rings up the orders then, showing commitment to customer service.I've always had them call my name when waiting for an order, never forgetting about me, like one reviewer reports.I suggest viewing Google's charted when they are less busy, and go then if you can. All businesses have that pattern of busier times.I'm also sure the pharmacy manager will read these reviews and make improvements, perhaps the North Liberty order progress display?Clearly it's the people with the bad expieriences coming to leave Google Reviews, a minority for sure of the actual customer throughput.

Went to pick up my medicine tonight at 7pm through the drive thru and both lanes were closed! They aren’t to close till 10pm and I haven’t been feeling good and wasn’t dressed to go in so I guess I’ll be waiting another day for my medicine! Wish they would call and let you know they are closed I mean they can call for everything else 🤷🏻♀️

*pharmacy* I don’t care how busy you are. You don’t treat people disrespectfully when they’re sick. My husband had a 104 temp and was called in medications and they were extremely behind and that was made CLEAR by how they were speaking to me. I couldn’t even get a word in without being interrupted. The call ended when I was hung up on. I avoid Walgreens at all costs, but unfortunately they are the only place open 24 hours. Usually we go to CVS where they are actually respectful.

It seems like everytime I go to this location there is an issue . I paid $15 for a passport photo that was taken at this location just for the post office to reject the photo because it was not taken properly by this location. I then went back this past Wednesday to ship something . I walked to the photo counter and asked if I could have a piece of tape. The woman behind the counter photo said no but you can purchase some tape . Annoyed , I went to look for tape(even though I literally needed one piece) and saw another worker and asked if I could have a piece of tape and she said “sure ! There should be some behind the counter by photo just ask the person working the desk” I said to her funny you mention that because I asked her for a piece of tape and she told me that I needed to purchase an entire roll. She looked shocked when I said this and said “oh really??um I’m sorry then “ I told her it was okay. Grabbed a roll of tape and went back to the photo counter . This time I said to the woman behind the counter “ you know it’s funny you are making me purchase an entire roll of tape when your coworker said you have tape behind this counter and could give me a piece . At this point her face dropped. She pauses and proceeds to ring me up . I almost left the roll of tape on the counter for her to let someone else use but irritated that I had to buy the entire roll just to use one piece I decided to keep the roll of tape. Customer service at this location was terrible and I’m hoping that the lack of service , and professionalism in the photo staff was sickening and I HOPE that it was not because the color of my skin. I noticed the same photo employee be a lot more friendly to all of the other customers but continued to give me the runaround . This location is convenient since it’s close to my home but I will no longer be using this Walgreens . I will drive the further distance and spend my money at locations that have better service and value their customer regardless of what they look like .

Not very helpful when you need a prescription filled right away. Was in major pain for a couple days because they had me jumping through hoops trying to figure out my prescription which ive got from them multiple times in the past without a problem! Never using the pharmacy again.

I was in formed of a change that was made by management this morning that I feel is important to everyone that falls in this category and should know whats happening.Oh it's not that your wait is being reduced or the pharmacy has brought more people in so you don't have to wait 30mins for any type of prescription in there drive through or if you go in at peak hours, no that would be a praised change, and would most likely make us happy.No this is just a way for them to dictate there own beliefs on us and not uphold the tradition of the pharmacy.I purposely go in to during off peak hours because it's easy for the type of work I do, but because I'm avoiding a mess that they have not done nothing to change, and because I don't feel it's necessary to be frustrated because of the wait times they do nothing about.If this change is made, they the need taket 24-7 off there building website and any other form of advertising, since they no longer providing that service for ever patron.These people have made a change on their own. This isn't a federal change, this isn't a corporate change either.This is a few people making decisions on there own and not providing a service that they advertise, and every patron has utilized at one point or another.There is a reason for 24hour pharmacies and if your not providing that service to every patron it's false advertising and your not treating every patron equally.Also there just changing it, no warning.These store managers need to be corrected, they need to understand they are making up rules based off there own accord.I will take this as high as it needs to go to let them know there wrong for doing this. It was explained that the other 24 hour pharmacy is doing it so we're gonna do it to.That is just like that old saying if everyone jumped off the cliff will you do it to?Seems like this manager is ready to take the plunge.That's the mantality that was explained when the pharmacist said to me that if your picking up a certain type of prescription, specifically controlled substances this is how it is.Now, in detail if your picking up this type of prescription a few days early, you are now only allowed to pick it up two days in advance not the three that the insurance and federal government allows for and if your between the hours of 12am-8am you have to wait till 8am to pick it up.There more than happy to over fill, and refill ever other type of prescriptions.That is not 24-7 service as advertised.This is not treating patrons equally.I travel for work and this policy will effect me and others just like me.I hope that the other patrons just like me will speak up and reject this type of dictatorship and will not stand for it.

He was being a smart aleck with me for no reason at all. He was very rude and all I was trying to do was pay for what I needed, there was no reason for him to act like that when like I said I was just trying to pay for my stuff
