1¾ STARSeems like every time I go to a H.D. after getting a staff member off their phone finally to talk to me, I find out only 1 person can answer my questions or cut a piece of plywood in half or ect ect ect..... unfortunately they're NEVER working or can't be found! It's always something that takes 15+minutes for someone to respond good or bad. (Excluding Flooring department: 4 star)Helpful Suggestion, Invest more in knowledgeable staff and who have actually worked with their hands before. Almost everyone can search the store with there cellphone and see if something is in stock and where it's located. Staff needs more knowledge than just that.

I was in the store Saturday to pick up a couple things and an employee approaches us about a new furnace. We tell him ours is new and he asks if we’re interested in info on a mini split, which I was so I set an appointment for 10 am Monday. I get a text on Sunday confirming my appointment for 10:00-10:30 on Monday morning. This is already different than what we talked about in the store but okay it’s 30 minutes. Come Monday their guy is a no call no show and when I call the store I’m out on hold for over five minutes.

We ordered a washing machine and dryer 12/12/23. The scheduled delivery + install was set for 12/15/23. They told us they would take the old appliances and install the new ones.Problems from day 1!The installers refused to install the washing machine because our wall valve had a tiny leak when they turned the water off. Refused to install the new washer. Then they refused to install the dryer because the dryer vent from the dryer to wall didnt line up perfectly…. Said we had to have a fitting…. And left. So WE INSTALLED both! We also had the plumber come out and switch our valve that had a tiny drip that didnt even impact the machine. But that was fine.What wasnt fine—-> the next morning after we installed the washer ourself, we had water on our laundry room floor from a leak in the drain pipe on the back and a leak under the machine!!!! 2 leaks!! On the unit!I spent hours on the phone trying to get a new one.Finally got the new one delivered- had a DENT in it. The dent was from the driver and how it was secured. He told me: you have 2 options: accept it and loose all warranty (told him NO) or Refuse and we order you a replacement. I refused. He told me to call the 1-800 number in an hour to start the process again. I didn’t wait an hour, I a called my local home depot and got the appliance manager Diane. She called the delivery people and my order was supposedly set up before she called them. She told me “you are getting white glove treatment on this delivery”. She clarified what that meant. Fast forward a week… never heard from anyone about my replacement. I called the 1-800 number again. Talked to Cloey! She was awful! Told me- there is NO UNIT ORDERED. I am getting a refund?!?!! I told her- I still have your original unit, how does that work? She was clueless- said- “we will have to come get” I said- NOPE! Not unless you bring me my washer. She insisted I am getting a refund, they had to come get the unit, THEN I CAN PLACE AN ORDER FOR A NEW UNIT AND PAY FOR THAT ONE! I said NO. “This is what is going to happen… “ and I told her I was calling my local Home Depot since she was no help.Called my local home depot and talked to Andy. He read the notes and confirmed Cloey was wrong. He told me to call the delivery company to discuss next steps.I called delivery company and got Brooke! She was AWESOME!!! Brooke handled that situation like a beast!I requested to NOT have the same delivery/ installers. She set that up too.I am supposed to have my washer delivered today. Between 3-7pm.My mother in law also bought a dishwasher from Home Depot and they refused to install it… told her they had to “remove walls” to install a dishwasher!!! She asked them to wait till my husband got there to review the situation and they bolted, cancelled her delivery and order!!! It was a nightmare! She marched into Home Depot and asked for her money back. When to Warner Stellian- had a machine delivered next day and installed— no wall removal needed! How bogus an excuse to not work!Home Depot has an installer problem and a interior process situation. Need serious revamp!Pretty frustrated and will update this review when I have a washer delivered without problems and damage.

The Ankeny store is a train wreck.Had to hunt down someone to mix paint at 7pm on a week night - was waiting 45 minutes.Tried to buy carpet - no one in the store could get a flooring or manager to assist us at 11 am on a Tuesday afternoon.Went in to do an online return - power out in the store at 4pm.Three strikes.

Every time I come hear I get large orders (30+ sheets of plywood, sheetrock, ext) Never do I get quick service. I always find my self having to stack it myself. Wear other locations are quicker to get the fork lift. And in the truck, fast. Not sure why this place runs slow.

Manager Andrew I guess is known to be rude to customers especially those of color? Absolutely no help whatsoever but has the audacity to have attitude with customers and role models for his team to be the same way. This Ankeny location always seems to give me problems but this is not my first time witnessing him have issues with customers just the first time I experienced it first hand. He doesn't want to help, doesn't move with urgency and acts like your bothering him when asking for help.

My go-to hardware store even after moving to a nearby city. Highly recommend using the Home Depot app if you have access to a smartphone to see if what you are looking for is actually in stock at your local store. Just remember that low stock items always have a chance of being out of stock by the time you get there. Also, feel free to ask the friendly staff in case you don't see stock on the shelves (even if the app says they do) as the available stock might just not be re-shelves yet.You'll pretty much find every generic item you need for all of your home improvement needs.

I am so not happy right now. Hubby picked out a beautiful tree for Christmas. We have had it for a week and I have had to clean up needles and bobbles up 6 times!!! It will not take water because it was already too far gone. Who do I need to see about a refund. I have broken glass ornaments because the tree RAINS needles to the floor.

Absolute worst service I have received from a “manager”. Wasn’t returning anything before everyone says I’m just mad. Purchasing lumber and asked him to open roller for me as there were carts in the way of the side door. Told me I would be fine and deal with it. For someone who doesn’t seem to have worked a day of construction in their life he was sure to tell me how to do my job. As a Home Depot pro who spends thousands of dollars here weekly I would think I would get the common courtesy of having a roller door opened. Absolutely embarrassing he clearly doesn’t believe in leading from the front of the pack.

Went in 30 minutes before close tonight to grab some moving boxes and packaging tape.Manager on duty was in back helping stock up the shelves and was super friendly and assisted me in grabbing my items partially or fully blocked by product ready to go on the shelves.Cashier was friendly upon checkout as well. Never had a bad experience at this location!

Today I needed some help looking for a shower for my basement bathroom and a Home Depot associate directed me back to the appliance area and said to ask for Mike. He assured me that Mike could help me with my questions. I did so and was promptly ignored by Mike. He told me another associate could help me. That associate did try her best to help me but unfortunately couldn’t. We left. Thanks Mike.

Ankeny Iowa store prices are significantly higher than other Des Moines metro stores. $1000 difference on a patio set! $200 difference on a snow blower. Should have KCCI investigation team do a story on this! Ankeny residents, drive 10 miles to urbandale or west Des Moines store. Well worth it!

Worst experience ordering patio furniture ever. If you want to order and have your package lost in transit be told you can’t cancel it but could reorder and then once the first package was found could refuse delivery and request a refund (keep in mind you’d be out $2,000 at this point) to be then told days later you can cancel and reorder so you do! Then that package gets “lost” going to the store and you sit waiting for patio furniture more than two weeks with no communication from the store to end up empty handed with no answer from anyone because there’s “no tracking information on shipments coming to the store.” Not only am I disappointed I don’t have patio furniture to sit in and have a fire these nice spring nights, I’m disappointed I paid 1,000 for my package to get lost not once but TWICE and I’m disappointed in the customer service and lack of communication. Don’t order from Home Depot, save yourself the time and energy.

Very dissapointing trip to HD today (3rd trip) offering 15% off of a whole kitchen cabinet order. trim pieces are broken AGAIN. we ordered in September and first cabinets ,wrong color and broken trim, second order, damaged cabinets and broken trim, 3rd order cabinets ok but trim is broken. I will be able to salvage it and make it work but ONLY 15% that is ridiculous. Very unhappy with DH, lighter side I can FINALLY put the kitchen together.

We have become regulars at this store and love the staff. Bobby Joe in the lumbar area and Brian in paint have been so helpful every time we’ve come back with questions about products or do-it-yourself tasks. This store had helped us believe we could actually do tasks ourselves. We love it!

When we first entered the store there was approximately 8 employees standing at customer service in a “meeting” after searching the store for someone to help we finally located what we had came after. At the registers that are all self checkouts and one open for “pros” only as we were told we would have to use self checkout since we was not a contractor I asked about the military discount and was advised to look on their website which states they no longer do a in-store it has to be ordered on line. So sad to see how far down we have fallen that we can not help customers, can not check them out while the is no discount for having to ring up your own order and bag it if necessary and have to order on line if you want a whole 10% discount for serving this once proud nation? Shame on you Home Depot! You’ve lost my business.

Worst business ever! I called to make sure I could order a flooring before driving 3 hours. They confirmed I could order it, but they couldn't make a payment over the phone, so I drove 3 hours paid for the flooring and was assured it would arrive Friday, cleared the space. On Wednesday I got a call that my floors were canceled and I had to drive another 3 hours to get my money back. I'll never shop there again!

Under no circumstances should you ever order appliances from them. They have been to my residence 6 times since December and to date I still do not have an operating dishwasher. Each time there's a different reason why they can't do their job, and it always seems to be the new pair of I stallers blaming the ones who came before them. I have a brand new dishwasher in my kitchen that doesn't work with zero effort from them to make this right. Absolutely horrible service, wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. If I could rate zero, I would.

So yesterday was my first experience with the Home Depot price match. I have to be honest when stores talk about this often times there is some clause or loophole that always makes in the stores favor you're trying to price match with. Not the case with Home Depot. There was no need for a manager or a million hoops to jump through. I simply showed them how much it was on the app for the other store and for store pick up and the cashier matched it on the spot. Which is good because I like getting everything in one spot. I shop at Home Depot enough that my wife never lets me go alone for fear that our daughter's college fund will be drained. So great customer service and definitely the type to keep their word. Thanks Home Depot.Edit: Still spending small country's military budget on tools and still love going to Home Depot especially during sales. I tend to stock up during sales.

Extremely disappointed in the experience of attempting to get a tub from Home Depot. After ordering the tub twice over the course of 3 months, we still never received the it due to delivery complications and were told it got lost, both times. Several issues with communication from customer service, inaccurate and false delivery reports, and little to no response from the delivery company on the status of the order. Would not recommend doing 'to the home' delivery due to the inability to fulfill the order to completion as it is not dependable. We completely understand that there are delivery delays, but delivery information was unavailable once our expected delivery date came and no one could provide answers. Additionally, the customer service team members failed to provide answers, gave misleading information, and canceled our investigation of the case number before the issue could be resolved. Buy at your own risk, but absolutely do not recommend.
